I am a team girl at this gym and I love it there. I've been going to this gym for about 4 years now and it's become like a second home to me. This gym has struggled but you can tell the the lead coach and owner of the building Cherri Steffes is doing her best. The coaches at that gym are generous and patient and are always trying to do better. The gym is small but well equipped. They could definitely improve some equipment but otherwise this place is amazing. I would definitely recommend this gym for kids of all ages. read more

I do not recommend taking your toddler to this establishment. We tried out the preschool program here and at first it seemed alright. Every week there are three sets of obstacles for the kids to go through with their parent. However, they always seemed more geared towards older toddlers, rather than the first timers that were in our class. At our last class before deciding if we would register for another session, the coach spoke down to my child while holding him down on the mat and advised me to feed my two year old different foods when speaking about his behavior. When I confronted the management about this incident, they didn't apologize, just explained their procedures in class. They did attach a lengthy apology letter from the coach directly though and I did appreciate that. However, I believe good management also apologizes on behalf of their employees as well. It seems to me that if you are going to have teachers teaching young children, they should know more about those ages and development also. The coach seemed to expect things from 2 year olds in class that are unrealistic. read more

Eh. The kids enjoyed the classes - and really - that's what matters. My business didn't seem to matter much to them, though. They have lots of classes, lots of kids, lots of activity in the afternoon sessions which = not really any personal attention for us. The prices are really reasonable, though, and like I said, the kids enjoyed the classes. Just don't expect much in the way of customer service toward you, the paying parent. I like it when businesses show appreciation for my business cause I'm a snob like that. The younger kid classes (pre-school) during the school hours are way less crowded and calm but if you have school age kids taking classes after school hours there are multiple classes taking place at once - the place is usually really crowded during drop off and pick up and felt a bit chaotic to me. The classes were organized, though, and parents are able to observe either in a seating area up above or in an observation seating area behind glass on the lower level. It's OK. If the customer service was better it'd be more than OK. They act sort of indifferent towards my business and presence so I'm sort of indifferent toward them as well. We are trying another place right now that does seem to appreciate our business and is also reasonably priced....have only taken one class so far so it's too early to tell but you know I'll update. read more

I have twin 6-year old girls. The instructors were not good with young girls, they'd be mumbling through their masks and not patient with the girls when they didn't understand the instructions. On the rare occasion there are two instructors, expect the second instructor to spend exclusive one-on-one time with a single student. The gym is dirty, falling apart and not in a great part of town! Then don't expect any money back if you decide to unenroll... once they have your money, kiss it away! I would HIGHLY advise looking elsewhere!! In the words of the owner herself "LOOK FOR ANOTHER GYM!!!". I have never even started here, but we tried to make it work with our busy schedules to fit this gym into our weekly routine for my son and daughter who have been in gymnastics at another place for a couple of years. I had to call several times to figure out what days and times would work for us, but the owner was so rude, didn't care about listening at all, and when I tried to rearrange my schedule to fit her classes in finally told me: "based on the number of times you called me and the information you provided, don't come to our gym - our program is only recreational and won't fit your needs, bye!" she didn't even let me say anything!!! What a horrible experience! She doesn't even know my family and was a total jerk to me on the phone! NEVER AGAIN! and here is my opinion from what I heard on the phone - your kids WILL get injured here because they have 10 kids per teacher! Which means no personal attention to your kid! And more, your kids will never achieve anything here because this program is only recreational and is a money making machine without any regard for the kids and families who go here. Yes, I will have to drive a bit farther, and the other gym is out of the way, but I would rather have my kids safe in smaller classes and have their progress cared for, and not looked at as another $100 bill. We LOVE Gymnastics Plus. My daughter has tried gymnastics classes at other local gyms, and this one is hands down the best. They are so amazing with all ages (my daughter just turned 5) and I'm especially impressed with how awesome they are with the little ones. My daughter has learned some great gymnastics skills, as well as discipline, turn-taking, and following directions. We also just had her birthday party there and they did a FANTASTIC job. Not even worth one star. Please don't get involved with this place. I really don't have the words to describe how disgusting and unethical they are. They will send you charges for things that you never signed up for or agreed to. With Covid, I was allowed to observe my daughter for the first 10 min. I have videos of a pathetic excuse for a teacher losing patience with my daughter as she tried to understand what to do. Instead of showing her, you can hear another staff member saying "she's new just tell her to bounce" and he went ahead and told her "just bounce". We were promised a make up day with the recent blizzard. That never happened. Instead, I got an invoice for the next month, which I NEVER signed up for. I was told charges would be pro-rated since my daughter joined late. Instead, I got charged for a "late join". Stay away from this place. My daughter went to a whooping two sessions and my payment amount came to over $350. read more

Gymnastics Plus prioritizes ego over the quality of service. Their front desk lady has no respect and no knowledge of the industry. The owner of the gym doesn't value staff, safety concerns, or overall the well being of their clients. The recreation director has no knowledge of the sport, as well as boundaries that should be taken with young gymnasts, and he does not know how to communicate with young children. Overall the experience my family had at Gymnastics Plus was quite disappointing. Frankly, I do not recommend taking your children to this gymnastics gym. La-Rue Anderson, Cheri Steffes, and Laurie DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They are terrible people who stand behind covering up issues inside of the gym rather than fixing them face on. I love it here. They are great with kids. Classes are challenging and the kids can test up to higher levels, but no pressure and they have a lot of fun. The owner is efficient and calls right back. Other people write that they've had problems- I've had none. Patty has always been helpful and cordial to me. The online registration portal is user friendly and very convenient too. The class schedule is very accommodating for all types of family schedules. The only bummer is its hard to find parking right in front of of the building, but they help with that too! Just ask for a pass and you can park for free safely less than a block away at a church parking lot. Love this place. Been to some birthdays parties and my kids are starting their second season here & we're excited. read more

I am new to the neighborhood, and I signed my daughter up for her second session! So far we love every aspect of this gym, the coaches are caring and encouraging. My daughter is a bit timid and I thought this would boost her self esteem, which it has. She comes home everyday and wants to practice what she learned. Her gymnastic confidence is transferring to her school, and she is getting more confident with making friends at her new school. I wish my parents had gotten me into this sport, it has added a lot to her life, in the short exposure she has had. I feel like gymnastics also teaches kids that discipline and hard work get you somewhere in life. When you fall down, you get back up and try again. Yes I'm a fan! read more

My 5-year-old daughter took one class at Gymnastics Plus and we will never return. They are way more interested in their own rules than in serving customers. The facilities are run down and it's a strange operation of gymnastics, karate and a copying center. The owner is not friendly or helpful, in the least. They don't answer their phones or post a current schedule or information on their website. When my daughter had to miss a class, I called 4 times trying to get info on making up the class and couldn't get through to anyone. I also called inquiring about birthday parties and I received a curt response of "we're booked through Dec." I guess they feel that they have a revolving door of wait list customers, so they don't care if people stick around. I'd rather go somewhere that at a bare minimum at least wants my business; they treated us like we were a nuisance from the beginning. read more

Disclaimer: My children have only done summer camps and one recently had a birthday party here, so no regular classes. My rating is based solely on the summer camps and birthday party experience. I have no experience with their regular gymnastics programming or instructors. Last summer my girls were enrolled in several camps at Gymnastics Plus and had a blast. It seemed to be structured well and the instructors seemed to all have good, positive attitudes when engaged with the children. The place itself is bright and clean, with a little shop on the main floor selling leotards that are decently priced. We recently held our daughter's birthday party there and found Gymnastics Plus to be excellent hosts. Everything was set up for us, the kids had a blast in the gym, and we had tons of help with clean-up. They even provided us with little goody bags with candy (I added a few special things). Bottom line? My birthday girl and her friends had a blast and it was a low-stress event for me. I would recommend Gymnastics Plus as a party venue. read more

My daughter has been coming here for about 3 years and we have had nothing but kindness and support from all the staff. My daughter enjoys the classes and the coaches and the front desk staff is helpful. Shame on Gymnastics Plus! This place was a terrible time for my six year old who was in their beginner recreational gymnastics class. At her second class, I left with my daughter in tears after I overheard the instructor yelling at her. Completely inappropriate for what is supposed to be fun and such a young child. I tried to switch classes so my daughter would have a different instructor, but they wouldn't let me. The front desk staff is not welcoming, the gym is old, dingy, and poorly lit, and the instructors are mean. A miserable experience overall. Go elsewhere! read more

We just started going there and love it. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making payment user-friendly (i.e. they accept credit cards, send out reminder emails, etc.), making it easy to pay. The cost is well worth it, as the instructors promote fun, while still teaching the fundamentals. Compared the other gymnastics programs we have tried (Dardano's and DU), Gymnastics Plus is the best in every aspect. Highly recommended! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. My son (6) was so excited about starting gymnastics! From the beginning there was no communication. We showed up and he filed in the gym with all the other kids. I did not know who his coach was and don't think the coach ever learned my son's name. Found out later (via another parent) that my son had Coach Kevin. Coach Kevin may have been amazing in the past but is now longer a good coach. He spent all the time on the boys that could do the tricks and spent very little time with my son. My son spent most of the time standing in line or being told to go to the back of the line. Sessions are 8 weeks long. At the end of sessions 5 and 6 my son left crying. Yep, I spent $ so my son could be ignored. We pulled him from the class. When I called to see if I could get a refund for the last two classes (no I couldn't by the way), the staff and business manager were very pleasant. But she pretty much told me it was my fault that I didn't speak up earlier or talk to the front desk about my concerns. I mentioned the lack of communication on their part and how I didn't even feel that going to the front desk was an option. Like I said -- zero communication!!! Again, she was nice and listened. I just hope they make some changes so other boys won't go through what my son went through. read more

My son and daughter were enrolled in two sessions at Gymnastics Plus. We signed up our son to help him build his confidence and help him with coordination. Recently, he has not liked his classes as much as he did during the first session. I found out why today. His instructor, Kevin L, was berating him in front of his whole class for not being able to perform a move. The instructor was impatient, frustrated, and slapping his hands against his forehead in frustration. My husband was right there and witnessed the whole thing because he was on the gym floor with my daughter during her tot class. When my husband confronted the instructor, the instructor's response was that he was trying to help my son. There is no need to yell at an 8 year old boy in front of his whole class, period. I don't see how his actions would help any little boy build confidence. It is a beginner's gymnastics class for young boys, not the Olympics! This apparently is not an isolated incident, my mother in law has witness this behavior from the instructor before too when she brought my son to class. Thanks to this instructor, our son no longer has any interest in gymnastics! 03/01/12 Update: So, if I can give this place 0 stars, I would. We talked to the office staff about this instructor and the office lady told us that she would bring it up to the man in charge of the instructors, a man the call Mr. Tim. That was about a week ago and still no call from them. I guess they really don't care about how their instructors treat students! read more

THEY JUST DON'T CARE I had looked for a gym somewhere close to my kid's school and found Gymnastics Plus. I called a few times, and every single time during business hours I got voice mail. I left two messages and never received a return call. I even visited the gym; and no one was in the office. I finally got a return call upon leaving a third message, and talked to a very nice lady who enrolled my son. When we visited, my 5-year-old daughter was also with me and wanted to take the free class that was offered to her. About ten minutes into the class, I peeked in the gym and saw her squirming and holding her privates. I could tell she had to go to the bathroom, but waited for her instructor to notice and direct her to the toilet. A few minutes later, the instructor still didn't see that my daughter desperately needed to use the restroom. I knew I wasn't supposed to enter the gym, but I didn't want my daughter to pee all over their equipment, so I started to walk in. Suddenly and older African American gentleman stopped me, and berated me in front of everyone for having the audacity to enter the gym. I was a gymnast once upon a time, so I understand that they don't want parents walking in and out for safety reasons, but I was clearly trying to help my child to prevent an accident from happening, and I didn't deserve to be chided for this. The last straw for me was when the instructors were testing the kids on skills. There were about seven little girls in my daughter's class, and all of them received a ribbon except my daughter. She was told that if she worked hard she would get a ribbon. I observed her clearly that day, and could see she was working very hard. I watched the girls on the vault, and my daughter did the skill perfectly. She still was not awarded a ribbon. My daughter was so upset she cried all the way home, which is a half hour from the gym. It was humiliating to her, and a little girl who had been bullying her the entire class, rubbed it in her face that she didn't get a ribbon. She said that she didn't ever want to come back, and I couldn't blame her. The instructors allowed bullying and exclusion. You can't do this to a little child. They don't understand, and apparently neither do the cluesless instructors. I am not a fussy mom, and believe in rewarding children who work hard, but this reward system is flawed and leaves children out. I am disgusted that they would treat children this way. I am through with this gym and will never return I only give it two stars because my son liked his instructor and the front office lady is nice, but other then that we had a negative experience from the get go. Oh, and I emailed this exact complaint to them, and what a shocker, I got no reply. They don't care about parents and they don't care about children. read more

We just had our 4 year old's birthday party at Gymnastics Plus and in her words "Best party ever!" I called about a month in advance, left a message and received a call back the next day and booked the party. The day of the party was fast. We arrived 15 minutes early, set some food and cake up, they had multiple tables (for the cake, food/drinks/guests) with plastic table clothes on them. Our party consisted of 3 and 4 year olds, they set everything up and led an awesome 1 hour event. Foam pit, obstacle course, rings, trampoline, and we ended with the parachute and a group photo. The adults were able to watch from above in an open observation area or assist the little ones that needed assistance. After the hour gym time, we had 30 minute in the party room for food and cake. I wish we at least had 45 minutes. 30 minutes felt a little rushed from my perspective, this would have been my only complaint. Thank you for making my daughter's 4th birthday party a hit! read more

We used to love Gymnastics Plus for camps over school breaks and summer break, but cannot recommend them anymore for camps. Our six year old daughter is not a serious gymnast but loves the occasional camp. Gymnastics Plus has changed from an inclusive style camp to a highly competitive one where the "top ten" participants are very publically given aptitude place ribbons where all others get the dreaded "participation" ribbon. Competition is fine and we are all for it, where appropriate! To put the five year olds against seven year olds and seasoned gymnasts against novice in an unannounced ranking order competition was not what we would expect of a high caliber camp. Additionally, when I informed the owner that it didn't go over well and there were a lot of disheartened young children leaving the first day of camp, a couple in tears, he couldn't have been less interested. We will not return and strongly caution other parents against exposing your kids to such a callous environment. read more
