Really good experience getting my daughter additional ear piercings. What she wanted was more unusual than what you would want from a teenager with a piercing gun at the mall, so she researched and found Gypsy Rose. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff make even a pretty typical suburban mom at ease in a tattoo and piercing studio. Real needle piercing technique vs a gun made the piercings go quickly and with less trauma/pain than a gun. My daughter barely flinched thru two closely located piercings. I am very impressed with the amount of patience that Melanie has had with me after the gazillion questions I have asked her after getting my daith and Tragus pierced. I work in the medical field and sometimes my mind goes to the worst case scenario which can be an absolute curse. I have been an absolute worry wort about getting an infection. Not because they didn't practice clean processes but because I'm just that paranoid! Anyways, Melanie is an angel and has been so comforting throughout the journey! I had a great experience here! My fiancé and I walked in to talk to someone and get info about tattoo ideas we had. We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door and everyone was very friendly. It was not an intimidating experience at all. We had a great consultation with May and scheduled our appt to come back to get tattoos. On the appt day May was so awesome and understanding. We kept changing the placement of the tattoos and she never made us feel rushed at all. She gave us her honest opinion and we really appreciated it. Took my wife in for her first tattoo ever. This place advertises a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and definitely delivers. The entire process was really professional and fun. For my wifes first tattoo that was a huge plus. She wanted a really small tattoo with very fine lines. So i was a little worried about skill too and didn't know anyone that had been here before. We did all the usual research and went for it. I can tell you that Salty is an excellent artist. The line work is perfect. He was also very light on the needle. I wont say my lovely wife is soft, but she doesnt enjoy pain. She never even flinched and is telling all her friends tattoos dont hurt. I've been to gypsy rose for all of my tattoos and piercings. Olivia(yellow haired piercer) was phenomenal and any piercing she did for me healed incredibly well. Unfortunately she just left gypsy rose and the only other piercer they have is awful. I believe her name is Missy. Olivia had done some cartilage piercings for me a few months ago including a helix. I got home one night (about 7 weeks after the initial piercing which was healing great) and realized the jewelry had come out. I put in an extra labret I had from an old piercing(that I had to retire because Missy had done it and butchered the angle). I went to the studio the next day to replace the original jewelry since I heal better with titanium and wanted a specific stone I'd had. Missy was the only piercer there at the time. I told her what had happened and pointed out the labret I wanted to buy. Once she called me to the piercing room I sat down and she switched out the jewelry. I went to the mirror to take a look and noticed it was a much shorter barbell than I'd previously had. The jewelry was flush to the skin on both sides with no room to allow inflammation. I brought this to her attention since it was a new piercing and didn't want to mess up the healing process. She said it was fine because the initial swelling period was over. I don't know if she's negligent or what but at the time the piercing was slightly inflamed from trying to get temporary jewelry in and then switching the jewelry at the studio. I took her word for it and left. About a month later and my helix is HORRIBLE. It's been irritated on and off since and I've gotten piercing bumps(which I've never gotten with titanium jewelry, so clearly an issue with too short of a bar). Today I noticed that the inflammation was so bad the backing was almost covered by skin. After some panic and lots of twisting I finally got the front part off and was able to then push the bar and back out. It was terribly inflamed and my helix is so so swollen from all of this. All of this could have been avoided if the piercer had used the original bar length for the replacement and listened to my concerns. This is now the second piercing Missy has caused me problems with, so much so I've had to retire both. Additionally, a few of my friends have gotten piercings from her(about 9 months ago) and their piercings have since not healed and still have bumps when they've previously had normal healing times for cartilage piercings. This piercer is absolutely horrible, I've had awful experiences every time I've been to her. I suggest going to literally any other piercing studio instead if you're considering going to gypsy rose for a piercing now that Olivia is gone. read more

I have been here two times and had great experiences. I got my first tattoo from Pixie and my second from Jason. Both of them are incredibly talented artists. Pixie is very sweet and easy to talk to. Jason did everything I could to make sure I was comfortable and safe. They both did an amazing job keeping me calm throughout the whole process. I contacted Gypsy Rose Studio, based on the excellent reviews, regarding getting my 8-year-old's ears pierced. They answered my email very promptly, telling me we could just "walk in" during their business hours. We arrived about 6:30 pm and were promptly greeted. The process was explained to us, and Gypsy herself did the piercing. She was great, taking her time to explain what she was doing and making sure my kid and I were comfortable. I know it's sucks to compare tattoo/piercers but damn I should've honestly drove the long drive to my actual piercer. I accidentally took it my nose stud and was unable to put it back in due to having nails. I came here in a rush needed to get it back in because I didn't really trust the ring that I had in for the moment. I didn't quite get the persons name whom put the piercing back in but they was very kind. The only thing that bothered me quite a lot is that they did not clean or sanitize my nose stud before putting it in, which is a very big factor in piercing. I brought my own yes, but that does NOT mean the piercing is clean in any way. The stud was just put right into my nose and I should've had said something about them not cleaning it. But that is a practice that every piercer should do and know before putting in a NEW or BROUGHT piercing. I paid a $10 service fee and I wouldn't of had minded it if it was done properly and clean. If I need anything in a rush, I honestly would not come here again. read more

I have gotten a tattoo and a tragus piercings done by Melanie and both were fantastic. However, I went to get my navel pierced and I had told her I wanted titanium as my body gets weird reactions to anything else. She "did not remember" me stating I wanted titanium and gave me implant grade surgical steel knowing I had stated why I didn't want implant grade in person and on the phone yet still made me pay for titanium. I had grown a bump on my piercing inside the piercing site and it felt like a rock. Tried asking her what the problem was and she said it was not harmful. I didn't believe her as a rock feeling inside a piercing is NOT normal or okay and the place I went to said I needed to change it ASAP. I had asked if she gave me titanium and her response was "I believe so." As if she wasn't sure what she gave me. Did not give me my FULL refund back and only got $20 out of the $80 I gave her (plus tip), argued with me on Instagram, and changed her story MULTIPLE times to justify her actions. Then later told me "if you had explained this to me I would've taken it seriously." NEVER going back. The unprofessionalism should get recognized. This place does not deserve a 4.7 star rating. Gypsy, my tattoo artist and ( she's the owner with her husband) did my first tattoo and she took the time to get it perfect. Each step of the way, she would ask if I was okay and if I liked it. I call this tattoo shop and told them I was bringing my 12 year old daughter . The girl said all I needed was my ID. So I'm like cool , I live about 10 min away and will be there soon. We get there and she says "oh I need her school ID "OR" a birth certificate."I'm like ok fine, we will be back ... we go all the way home and I get her birth certificate.We get back and the chick is like "oh I need both. "I'm sorry , I didn't clarify!" and she smiled. Like my daughter really wanted it done there but I refuse to go back when they obviously don't want my business or money.
