So much potential! I came here as a "safe location" right around the corner from my new office. I usually avoid chains but I don't know the area (for now) so I didn't want to get lost and this place was right in front of me... I ordered the ham & gouda baguette. I'm giving 2 stars for the baguette (bread) alone, as it was huge AND delicious! If I had to take a guess, it may have been over a foot long in size and tasted homemade. However, the rest of the sandwich was subpar as it was lacking ingredients. In my experience, I've discovered places that use bread like this normally "hollow it out," meaning they take the inside filling out of the bread so they can stuff it with ingredients (ie; ham & gouda). This is not the case here as the bread is not "hollowed out" so the bread-to-meat ratio is off to say the least. Each bite was all bread and barely any filling. Not only was this disappointing but I felt like this was a very expensive sub for what it was even though chips & small drink were included. However, once you're in the parking lot, theres plenty of parking in the complex with a low flow of people driving in and out. Inside the restaurant was spacious with outdoor seating seemed nicely located in front of the restaurant. Panera bread is very consistent. It's great for a quick, casual meal. I love all the salads especially the barbecue chicken and the Fuji apple one. Sandwiches are great too. Also love the baked goods especially the kitchen sink cookie. My mom tried the summer special lobster roll for the first time. We were impressed by the freshness and amount of lobster on it. It was pricey, $26 but you get your moneys worth. Their online ordering is extremely reliable and always ready right when I get there. Good indoor and outdoor seating. Nice peaceful place to get work done and a good meal. Cant go wrong. read more

I have been a customer for over 15 years. I used to dine at the North Quincy spot and now my go to is Panera in Needham. The food is excellent. The prices are excellent considering the quality of the food. However there is now confusion about the service. Only take out orders are posted for n the video board. Special take out orders are placed on shelves. I prefer checking the board to see when my order is ready. I prefer picking up my order from the counter rather than getting it served to me at an assigned table. Finally the last two times I ordered take out from Panera the system stated that my order was ready. But when I went to the counter the food prep guy said that another 5 minutes was needed to complete my order. I lost my seat when I saw the ready message on my order. And it was pointless to sit in the waiting area because the order cannot be changed from ready back to not ready. Orders should not be marked as ready unless they are ready for the customer to pick up. read more

I work not far from this Panera. So it is one of my top options for a get it quick decent lunch. A few problems. Rapid order may be rapid on the tablets but with many many people going there for their lunch, even if you use rapid order or order on the app earlier, many ( but not every) days you get a text stating that "your order is taking longer than expected" if your lunch break is short , I would not recommend this particular Panera. I have tried ordering my lunch in the a.m. before going to work, but my lobster roll tasted old and had a little blue tinge. I ended up tossing most of the $23. Order. Had I wanted "breakfast for lunch" I probably would have been fine. Trying to think of other options, as I detest most of the delivery services. However going during off times probably is fine, you'll have to see for yourself. read more

Occasionally, I had issues with order fulfillment and cleanliness at various Panera's. Not here! Staff was nice. Tables were clean. Orders were accurate and tasty. I shall be back without hesitation. I have a love/ hate relationship with this Panera. I love Panera, but this one just tries my patience, and often. It is the only Panera I have even seen offer valet parking. The parking lot is a total cluster, but, no, you are not taking my car and parking it in some random non-parking designated area. I will circle around the lot two or three times but will give up if I can't find a spot by then. Then I just go elsewhere. If the parking lot is crowded, you know it will be crowded inside. Often, there is no place to sit during lunch hours and I have waited over 20 minutes for a salad many times. Sometimes I get really good salads made with care and attention to details. However, other times I get salads that seem to say "I made this salad and I hate my life... and I hate you... and I just threw some random stuff in this box and mixed it around...and then I threw this dressing in this plastic thing...and...I hate you". Lunch hours bring office peeps as well as tons of mothers with children. Panera management, if you happen to read this review, please start a SOUP ONLY service line. One line for people ordering soup and staff designated to prepare soup orders only. It is so frustrating to order soup (all you have to do is pour it in a bowl and hand it to me) and then have to wait 20 minutes while the staff prepare the 10 salads ahead of you. read more

Although this is a chain so you would expect it to be the same everywhere this one is not. The staff are friendly and do a great job but my review is about a manager there who made the experience horrible. We host game nights there once a month and they used to reserve the back room for us. At some point they stopper reserving it but we didnt complain. We would always manage to find room there despite having anywhere between 6 to 20 members of the meetup group show up. One night we were in the room as usual and a manager came in and asked us if we were staying long. I replied that we were leaving at 10 as we always did. He responded that they close at 9 that day. I mentioned that we always leave at 10 and that we used to have this room reserved. He said they no longer reserve that room and asked why we had the door to the room closed. We said because we use the location to play board games and we didnt want the noise from outside or us to disturb the patrons outside. He responded that they no longer reserve the room and tht we had to keep the door open. I had brought up the website in the mean time and mentioned that the site says they close at 10...he said "well yeah..but we have to clean up". Generally his tone was rude and his comments were unnecessary and made us feel unwanted despite the fact that once a month we can have up to 20 members who will spend and average of 10 bucks each there. This is the worst Panera restaurant anywhere. We have tried ordering decaf here at many different times of the day, but they never have it. When we ask them to make it they get annoyed. They have a bad attitude that definitely comes from management. Tonite we arrived at 8:51pm and ordered decaf. The staff was already cleaning and taking out the garbage. The store doesn't close until 9pm, but the workers decided they didn't want to wait or service customers so they just told us no. We are coffee loyalty members but this is by far the worst panera restaurant we go to. The service and quality plummeted when the chain was sold. read more

Let me start by saying I have been coming to this location every week for the past 3 years. I probably spend about $1000 in a given year at this Panera location. I never had any issues up until last month. I mostly order online and use the rapid pick up however, last week I ordered food from Panera three times and each of the three times they got my order wrong!! I either got a sandwich when I ordered a salad or they forgot to put avocado in my Avocado cobb salad. I finally decided to check my pick up order as soon as I picked it up and ofcourse it was wrong again. Thankfully the Manager at that time, Kelsey, was really nice about it. She apologized for the error and got me the correct order right away. Recognizing that I am a regular, she even offered me 2 free meals the next time I went to Panera. I have to say Kelsey did a really great job of making up for it. Despite a few bad experiences, I'm still a fan of Panera and will be going back. read more

UPDATE: This is for the Panera Bread in Needham, MA. I decided to give another chance and obviously choose a different sandwich and dined in this evening and upon immediately walking in to the kiosks for Self-Serve/Self-ordering, I notice a man in front of the bakery essentially barking out some sort of orders to the young lady behind the glass. What I initially thought was a hostile/aggressive customer, I then come to realize he must be some sort of higher-up, District manager directing the lady on how to condense/ re-arrange/ clean the bakery area. This is not my issue. My issue was how LOUD and aggressive tone of voice he had when giving her orders. Like I said, for the first few seconds I thought this was an upset / angry customer. My strong advice for this DM is to 1.) lower his voice. There were many customers in the dining area who I'm sure along with myself felt uncomfortable that she was being spoken to this way. 2.) It's fine to be firm and give commands, I get it, it's your job, but you ended the talk with "Got it?!", and walked right out. No goodbye. No ok have a nice night. I was THIS CLOSE to saying something to you, but you swooshed right past me. Be a little more polite and friendly because YOU SIR DEFINITELY CAME ACROSS AS HOSTILE. Is it so much to ask for correct and efficient service? Let me reiterate - DO NOT come here if you are in a hurry or have a complicated order. Also, if I'm paying $5 for my smoothie I would like it filled to the top not 3/4 full. Mobile ordering is also a joke. I put in an order for 5 items (smoothie, bagel, flatbread, cookie and chai latte) on a Tuesday at 3 pm. It was to be ready when I arrived but I had to wait another 15 minutes after the expected ready time. And the cafe was empty! Panera in general is a good place to go for breakfast type foods, sandwiches, soups, and pastries. I hadn't been to this location before and didn't know what to expect, but thought I'd stop in since I was in the area and in need of using a daily coupon. They sent me a coupon for a free bagel every day of the month; definitely sign up for MyPanera if you plan on even coming here somewhat frequently (you can do so on their website). They constantly send lots of good coupons and offers. Anyway, so first of all, take caution of the parking lot. It's small and frequently jam packed. Not going to really penalize Panera, but just something to take caution of. Secondly, no drive thru! Sad..... my favorite feature, exhibited in the Walpole and Brockton locations could not be accomplished anywhere around here (curse those high-up people in Needham and Newton who have banned the drive thru's and plastic bags!!!). Either way though, I was still looking on the upside for this place. And for that matter, the inside isn't actually THAT clustered or small. Decent amount of tables, chairs, and room to move around. It was dead when I showed up (late afternoon); however, it seemed it wouldn't be too problematic in the morning either (when Panera is hopping!). What was SO disappointing about the Needham location was the staff. Normally, I don't have issues with employees, but when MULTIPLE employees are on their phones while they should be helping a LINE of customers at the pay area, that's not ok. I literally saw one girl filling a drink and texting at the same time. Seriously unacceptable. The line just kept getting longer while two guys in the back of the cooking area were doing who knows what on their phones. Should not be tolerated and extremely unprofessional (not something that would ever happen at the Walpole Panera, which I go to very frequently). Disappointing. And for just that, they have lost two stars. Decent enough cafe, but don't expect the best of service. Due to the fact that most other Panera locations I have received better service at, 3 stars is sufficient. Guess it's alright for this area..... most other locations are better though! read more

This is the least clean Panera I have ever been that they had self-serve kiosk's which were really likes so unclean looking disgusting I didn't want to touch them and that the wait to order there was no one in line but it took like seven minutes to order and then the food came fairly quickly to go but they did not include our pickles which they promised which we didn't realize until we got to our destination. There was water all over the counters and the manager seemed deservedly stressed out. I would go to another branch instead. Having said that, I def have enjoyed eating at other Panera's, including one in Tampa recently, where the bread was super fresh and they had outdoor tables. read more

Most locations do a really nice job. This place, not so much! It took over an hour and a half to deliver a grilled cheese sandwich! Lots of times my job is too busy to leave and pick something up. When I called after an hour of waiting, they didn't seem too concerned!
