Call me dumb, naive or that I should have known better; but the prices for everything were an average of $5 more...even for PICKUP. I would have been fine with a modest service fee to place my order online, to save myself from the need to talk to someone or mispronounce a menu item; but $5 more for each item is outrageous. I mean, there was absolutely no Dashing of any Doors, because I went and picked up the food myself; but ended up spending $15 more for three menu items! Flavor-wise, nothing particularly stood out - the falafel was fine, the rice otherwise bland without the tahini sauce, which was also quite bland and insufficient in quantity. I did enjoy the pickled veggies, but the salad was otherwise scant. I was overall very disappointed, given the large number of positive reviews. All the meals come with your choice of a drink and come in big portions. My boyfriend and I shared a gyro and gyro fries. Both were stuffed with meat! And the pita bread here is so soft, and the tzatziki sauce was light and complemented the meat very well. I also liked how fresh the mixed vegetables were, and wish I could've added some to the fries. I would recommend this place for their generosity in portion quality, since the prices are pretty fair. Delivery review In short Decent flavors for sure, some portions were nice, but it showed up nearly cold and the value isn't there at all with the online pricing. In long It's amazing how many gyros places there are up here with great ratings. It's almost as pervasive lately as fried chicken sandwiches. We might start branching out more from our favorite spot, which is a bit farther away. Last night we spent $71 for 2 plates of food. It was almost $60 before tax, tip, and a small delivery fee. I want gyros places to thrive, and their prices are about 10% lower in-house, which is expected. But this pricing didn't work at all, especially with one of the dishes. Gyro salad bowl Solid flavors, veg still somewhat crunchy, sauces were nice. Meat all cooked evenly and well. I added cauliflower and more meat which took it to $26. Not the worst value around but not great. House special plate This was fewer than 20 bites of food for $25. This one is the tough one. We weren't crazy hungry and this still wasn't even filling. We had to raid the cupboards afterward to find a few more bites to finish the meal. We also got some very sugary baklava that seemed like they were Americanizing it with almost a Hostess Fruit Pie approach. Didn't have that homemade quality or much in the way of savory flavor to balance it. $6 online, $5 at the store, and about 3 bites of food maybe. I'm a little startled by the high rates for this place. I'm thinking dining in their dining room makes the prices make sense and gets you hotter food. I once visited a Halal food cart once a week just for a gyro plate, it is the perfect meal without making you feel like you ate something overly filling and unhealthy. A gyro plate has gyro meat, rice, lettuce cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, olives, and crumbled feta cheese. It's amazing! I tried this place on a recommendation from one of my friends and I'm so glad I did. Today I ordered the Mezza plate, and lamb and beef gyro with tzaki sauce. My thoughts on the food are... 1) it's such a great deal considering you get a drink with each order 2) mezza plate: falafels were delicious with lots of sauce, babaganoush and hummus were probably freshly made (so good with perfect seasoning), dolmas were squishy and delicious. 2) lamb and gyro with tzaki: the gyro was flavorful and not dry.
