I crave Mediterranean food from time time. I heard this place reopened and offers lunch buffet. 3 of us visited for lunch on Saturday with no reservation. We were seated right away. There were a few other people at 11:30am We asked if they do lunch buffet as I didn't see any self serve food. The staff said they offered in the past but not today.. it might come back in 2 weeks? We ordered hummus, garlic naan, fish masala and special kebabs without lamb which was accommodated per our request. The food even the side veggies were really good, we all liked everything. I like this place for good quality fresh ingredients that I don't feel overstuffed. It's probably because the food is easy to digest? This doesn't happen with other Mediterranean and Indian food. Lunch buffet had minimal variety (just a few dishes and tasted just so-so)... but what made it not great experience was that when I went to pay, evidently the wifi wasn't working (?) and the owner asked me to pay in cash. Luckily my friend had cash on hand ...or i would have had to find an ATM and drive back. In this day and age, if you're running a restaurant/business, should make it convenient for customers to pay. read more

We recently got a to go order from here for our friends who were visiting after raving about the food. Unfortunately the food and service were a huge letdown. We got a bunch of meat and veggie curries and their biryanis. Everything was half the quantity of what we had received while dining in, in the past. Some of the food also felt stale and the meat was a bit chewy. It's possible they were just having an off day, but it felt worse because there wasn't a single redeeming moment in front of our friends. They might be better place for dining in alone. read more

Amazing owners and food is delicious. Came pretty late in the afternoon as we prepared for the night market next door but I was starving! Walked in and assisted my hunger needs right away. I love Caravan Kebab - the owners are in the kitchen and ensure everything is fresh and delicious. The "caravan" is because the make a variety of Mediterranean and Indian dishes - there's hummus and there are mango lassis. The chicken tika masala puts every other version I've had to shame, rich with visible herbs. The rice is fluffy, the meats are well seasoned. I love the lamb! The owners check on diners and are happy to explain dishes. The walls are adorned with beautiful fabric tapestries and the interior has a cozy feel. Caravan Kebab is local to us and one of our most favorite dinner spots. They recently reopened after an alledged DUI driver drove into the building and destroyed the kitchen. After calling a few times for a reservation and couldn't secure one, we finally snagged an early evening table. The food is as delicious as before. We started with the eggplant rolls, followed by the lamb kebab with Badmati rice and vegetables for one of us. The other indulged in the beef Nehari, a Lahore specialty. For drinks a mango lassi and a guava juice. A foody hidden paradise. We will be back. (Note: Consider leaving a big tip so they can recover from the damage that had to be repaired. Mediocre, especially disappointed with the buffet. Some of my family like takeout from here and I think it was fine. Was excited to try their buffet but the options were very limited, and always out of stock. I watched one party come in and I had unfortunately scooped the last of the meat, and by the time they left, the dishes were never refilled. Not sure what they ate... There's not a lot of options either, although they have the basics like butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, and saag paneer which are my go to. They unfortunately don't have naan as part of the buffet, just pita bread. So I ordered it on the side and it was sooooo disappointing. I think the worst naan I've had ever. There are so many reasons to love this restaurant. The food is good. The atmosphere is cozy. The owner is a gem of a man. He is so friendly, kind, and caring. Having a conversation with him can go very deep and powerful in terms of how people should treat one another regardless of their differences. This is my second review because I want to elevate the restaurant and have more people patronize it. I try to take as many people to the restaurant as possible when on that side of the water. Tomorrow is Christmas, and it is also the owner's birthday. For years, on his birthday, he has generously prepared meals and served the homeless community. We had a wonderful lunch! The beans in tomato sauce are fabulous. Don't miss them! 3 of us shared them as an appetizer. I had the lamb gyros sandwich and loved it. I took two friends to have lunch here for the first time in a while. It was a cold, drizzly day outside, but when I entered the restaurant, it was a comfortable space. We looked at the menu for a while and ordered Moroccan Lamb Tagine and Lamb Biryani from House special. Also Lamb Sag from Traditional curries and served with saffron basmati rice. All gluten-free. Chef Shahzad's cooking is the Art of food, Beautiful, good flavors and very delicious. Moroccan Lamb Tagine is slow cooked Lamb with vegetables and herbs, plus olives, raisins, lemon, and fennel seed. Topped with toasted sesame seed and served with couscous. Lamb Biryani is a great flavor and good to share with friends. Lamb Sag is a Lamb and spinach and Pakistani spices with a touch of cream. Yummy. We enjoyed pleasant conversation and delicious food. This is a solid Mediterranean restaurant. The chef's favorite, eggplant rolls, is a must-try. I'll order this dish every time I visit. The dolmades make a great starter before other dishes. The Afghan Bolani has a unique taste that makes you want to take another bite to figure out its flavor. The rice pudding is lightly sweet with a milky texture and a hint of cinnamon. I love it! We were searching where to eat for my dad for Father's Day. I suggested this place and we settled on it! The restaurant is in Firdale village, not too far from highway 99. It's a small little place, they have outdoor seating and their decor inside is very colorful and pretty! We had gotten a few things; veggie pakoras, eggplant rolls, 4 garlic naans, baba ghanouj with pita bread, and the lamb kofta kebabs and butter chicken as main entrees. Keep in mind, naan bread is one bread only so if you want more, that's extra! The naan was baked fresh and they had their own dipping sauces to go along with it! You can definitely taste the tomato paste or sauce in the butter chicken more and it wasn't my favorite since I've had other butter chickens to my liking. The lamb kofta kebabs were different --not the grilled meat but ground meat served in balls. They were okay, I liked the veggies and potatoes on the side. I think the veggie pakoras were the best as well as the baba ghanoush. The staff was attentive, they were on it with refilling the waters. One person that worked there (the chef and owner?) though it could be part of the staff was nice and gave us a gift in return for coming to this restaurant the first time and told my dad happy Father's Day ! I've had two experiences with this restaurant. One was a couple years ago: a Covid-era take out which we enjoyed; and another one more recently when we tried their weekend buffet. The buffet is admittedly small, and seems pricey, but what they lack in variety they make up in quality. Still a bit pricing though when compared to other South Asian/Indian buffets around town. Chef Shahzad was extremely personable and a pleasure to talk to. Their daal was just like how my "Punjabi" grandma would make it - probably better with the fresh taste of tadka, the chickpeas and saag on the buffet were spectacular although a bit lower on spice level for me but understandable since the restaurant isn't catering to an inherently Indian clientele. My son loved the samosas and chicken (forget if it was chicken tikka or butter chicken). The Mediterranean salad was refreshing - perfect way to start the meal. I took away one star for the bread (which lacked effort), lack of bowls to serve some of the food (this kinda food needs more than just a flat plate) and the price to variety ratio, but then added back 1/2 star for the Kashmiri chai, the decor and cleanliness! I'd go here again! A solid 4.5 stars in my book. read more

We ate there on a Thursday evening. Incredibly good food, affordable- $37 dollars each and we ordered multiple dishes . The Borscht was incredible, authentic. We had their Polish meatballs and their signature Lamb dish as well as an eggplant spread. We were also given an exquisite rice pudding for dessert. Love love love this hole in the wall. Our favorite was the mushroom appetizer, garlic naan and tika masala. The eggplant rolls and caravan sampler was also good. Make sure to dig in that yogurt/dill sauce as theres this sweet concoction hidden under it. The garlic naan was probably one of the best ones we had, it was big, fresh and had an amazing crisp to it. The owner was so kind and took our order. He also gave good recommendations as well. The outside parking is basic but the indoors was amazing. The place was cozy and inviting w well thought off decor. The only thing id recommend was an upgrade in the bathrooms or to hide the random boxes in there.
