THIS PLACE IS GETTING BETTER EVERY TIME I GO. Restaurants are never like this right? It's funny because the first time I went I thought "this is good but it's not great". Why the 5 star reviews? ...And then I went a few more times and I thought OK they're getting a better. Definitely good enough to not have to make the drive to Golden olive. The main area of improvement/or area that has been improved is that the meat was sliced much too thin and in Little Itty bitty pieces, when it should be more of a slice than a crumble. The first couple times I went it was like little tiny steak strips you would get on nachos. When a gyro really needs to be more of a long strip of nicely seasoned and grilled meat. They've improved this, they've been wider strips my last couple trips. The sauces are great. The veggies are fresh. The pita is warm and the right texture. The only other area of improvement I would say is that the platters have more rice than anything else. I had the chicken shawarma plate for lunch today and can't wait to go back! Everything was well seasoned, the chicken was good quality with no gristle to be found. Rice was colored yellow with spices and had a couple cloves in it, so you know that was good! Was in the neighborhood and was looking for a good dinner spot. When I saw this place, it was obvious THIS is what I wanted! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and I was able to eat in the restaurant (distanced). The young man at the counter happily delivered my gyro to my table. Service here was top notch! The restaurant is fairly nondescript. It could use a little brightening up, but it was clean and tidy. My gyro was pretty good, I'd give it about 7/10. Not the best, not by far the worst either. We had a long weekend in Seattle and I was craving gyros the first night. We picked up our gyros and headed over to Alki beach park to look over the seattle skyline. We went here on a weeknight about an hour before closing. Meaning, we were expecting wilted, used-all-day ingredients. That is NOT what we got. We ordered food to-go. Ordered 2 Gyros, hummus, and falafel. wow, Wow, WOW!! These guys make love to their food. There is such great care taken to "plate" each item. The meat was sizable chunks, not thin, little shreds. It was so flavorful - packed with so much flavor! The cucumber, lettuce, and tomatoes tasted like they were picked from a garden that morning. Falafel were nicely browned and crisp. Hummus was beautifully creamy with perfect garlicky goodness! The Tzatziki sauce was out of this world. It was already on the gyro, but I asked for 2 sides as well. No extra charge, but listen to how they did it. A small, 1 oz. little cup (but it was plenty). The guy filled it with sauce, then sprinkled with seasoning, then placed few drops of olive oil in there PLUS added a few fresh herbs on top. For this little on-the-side container!! Now that is care and that is love for their food that they put out. AMAZING! The guys there were so kind and friendly. Helpful, pleasers. Will be back on a weekly basis. I'm a new regular! read more

The chicken was seasoned well, not dry, the basmati rice had good flavoring and was accompanied with a small Greek salad. And I loved the warm pita. This was a very good meal. Why not 5 stars? Those Greek fries!!! The moment the garlic smell hit my nose, I knew I made the right choice! I could've binged on those fries alone. Crispy, garlicky, straight up YUM! Service was quick, food was delicious! The only item I probably wouldn't get again is their baba ghanouj. It wasn't bad, but my least favorite. Something with their spices.. My husband ordered the gyro platter and I ordered the gyro sandwich. Gyro Heroes does not skimp out on the meat! Their sandwich was more than filling and my husband enjoyed his platter. They do have an option for chicken if you would prefer that to the lamb for the sandwich. Meat were chunky and the pita breads are served whole instead of slices. We used to go to Kokoros when it was owned by the family, but haven't found anything quite like them since. This place definitely makes up if not tops some of the dishes. For the platter, sandwich, side of fries and side of baba ghanouj, the total came to about $30. Not the cheapest, but worth it! We'll be going back again when we crave for some Greek food. read more

All were delicious and large portion sizes. We ordered all that for two people and were both super full. We got our food to go and were in and out within five minutes. I give 5 stars cus I ordered to go and the nice man made it in 5min. Came here after work, running on no sleep and no food all day. Exhausted and hungry really makes your brain do funny stuff. Luckily, the man prepared my food to go super duper fast. I'm weird and always crave food but won't go get it until I'm dying for it so after a week and a half of telling all my friends I wanted a gyro plate, sandwich, salad. I finally gave in. Lo and behold the god of all food for the hungry ( yeah I'm a tad dramatic). I'm sure I was pretty hungry because I literally inhale this thing in 6 min. And yes, I timed myself. So delicious!
