Tried Homer again for the first time since before the pandemic and here's my honest take: The food? Delicious. The flavors were thoughtful and really well executed, and honestly the pricing felt fair--which is saying something in Seattle right now. But... would I stand in the rain at 5pm on a Wednesday again? No. They don't take reservations, and it feels pretty clear why--everything runs like a well-oiled machine designed for quick turnover. Normally I wouldn't mind efficient service, but this crossed into feeling rushed. Our bill was dropped while we were still eating, just about an hour in, and the vibe quickly shifted to "thanks for coming, time to wrap it up." Would I go back? Yes--if someone else wanted to go. But I'd only do it right when they open. Waiting in line just to feel hurried through dinner isn't worth it. Overall, great food, but the vibe, service pacing, and no-reservation model really shape the experience.

Came here after seeing it everywhere on yelp. Seems like a highly sought out restaurant in Seattle. We came on a Tuesday night around 6:15 and were seated around 20 minutes later. It was very crowded but if you come around 5 or 6 the wait shouldn't be too long. Our server recommend the trumpet mushrooms which we thought were weird and rubbery and came with an odd egg sauce. I would not recommend getting that dish but other than that the food was good. We loved the salmon and dips we ordered. Nice ambiance in here, employees are very friendly. Really cute restaurant. I like that the dishes aren't overly large the portions are just right not too heavy. My mom loved the halva chocolate chip cookie she got for dessert.

Truly amazing celeriac dish with a side of pita bread!

My hubs and I have walked by the lines snaking outside Homer many times. We've bought their excellent soft serve from the side window but haven't ever eaten dinner there...until last night. Now we know why those lines have been forming for years. We lucked out and were seated immediately because the Mariners were in the playoffs and there were less people eating out on a Thursday night. We chose to eat at the bar because it was empty and we like having more space around us. Props to our bartender who asked us if we had any food allergies, and then because I can't eat dairy products, patiently explained and recommended all the dishes that had no dairy or could be made dairy free. First, we started with dessert because, well, why not? We knew we wanted to eat their excellent soft serve so instead of saving room for it after dinner, we ordered it right off the bat. I had the vegan carrot maple and my hubs had the swirl with carrot maple and brown butter cardamom. Both were delicious and served prettily in frosty silver goblets with long spoons. Delightful! Then, following our friendly bartender's recommendation, we had the roasted celeriac for an appetizer with a side of pita bread. What the---?!? We have never had this vegetable before but it was AMAZING. Caramelized on the outside, tender on the inside, and bathed in a multidimensional coconut broth with mint, parsley, lentils, and pomegranate. It was a revelation. Next, we shared the roasted chicken with chili fruit sauce. How good can chicken get? In the hands of Homer chefs and their wood-fired oven, it can get damn good. It was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. It came with grilled bok choy and everything sat on a pita bread that soaked up all the savory juices. We ate half the chicken and took the rest home. Can't wait to shred the chicken up and use it to elevate whatever dish we make with it. The food at Homer is both homey and exquisite. It is a little familiar and quite a lot not. It is inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine yet it cuts its own jib. Thank you to the whole team at Homer for a wonderful experience filled with friendly service and food that surprised and delighted us in many ways!

5-star soft serve takeout window experience! Even if the window is closed, just walk up and a bartender will see you and be with you shortly. There's 1 vegan flavor and 1 non-vegan flavor. You can sample and get them swirled if you want. The seasonal vegan maple carrot was SO good, and tasted like the ice cream version I never knew I needed of the Thanksgiving side. It tastes very much so like carrots, so I recommend for the carrot lovers.

We had a great time at Homer with my boyfriend's brother and sister in law while we were visiting Seattle. They love Homer and I am happy to say it didn't disappoint! We had great small plates and lovely cocktails. Our waiter was very attentive without bothering us and the restaurant vibe was perfect. Nice and cozy without being too quiet and romantic. The decor was super cute too. I love being able to see an open kitchen space.

THE BIG: Located in the North Beacon Hill area of Seattle. This place is always packed everytime I go. Indoor and outdoor seating available. No reservations, you have to put your name down and wait. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here with the friends we were staying with and fortunately we were seated immediately. They had space outside and we quickly snagged it. For drinks, my buddy and I got a bottle of txakoli while the ladies got a butterfly tea spritz and a NA penicillin. For food, we got ALOT. Here is the list: a set of three dips, extra pita, whipped garlic, feta dumpling and mushrooms, burnt cucumbers, grilled pork, lamb ribs, and a sausage dish. All were great and my favorite dish was the lamb ribs. Although you can't go wrong with the whipped garlic with the pitas. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for this feast was around $340. I thought it was well worth it and I'd definitely be back to have more whipped garlic.

I loved how cozy this place was! We got there near opening so we luckily snagged a table without a wait. There was a little bit of a wait by the time we left as well and you have to wait outside due to the small space of the restaurant so keep that in mind. We ordered a ton of dips to share with extra pita. Additionally we got a few small plates and some salmon to split amongst the three of us which left enough to take home as leftovers. As everyone also says, get the whipped garlic!!

Homer is absolutely worth the wait! The space is modern, with crisp white accents and a chic atmosphere. Though we waited about two hours on a busy Saturday, the entire experience made up for it. Their charcoal cooking was a standout. The fresh beets had a unique smoky depth--maybe not for everyone, but I loved them. The dates with pistachio oil and turmeric were a surprising delight--balanced, not too sweet, and kissed by charcoal. The trio of spreads was great value. For mains, the lamb came with kebab--slightly dry but still tasty. The chicken was juicy and well-executed. For dessert, the pistachio cheesecake was a perfect finish. The service was fantastic--multiple attentive staff, especially with wine. We even stayed past closing without a hint of rush. Five stars, and I'd return in a heartbeat!

We tried the family feast for 6 people. It was an INSANE amount of food. definitely pace yourself! Everything dish was a creative and unique mix of flavors and textures. Super cool experience!

    Sausage w/ whipped feta
    Leyang Z.

A very famous, hot spot in Seattle. The beautifully decored restaurant serves creative Mediterranean dishes, and the menu changes seasonally. I tried their Labneh w/ dried tomatoes & mint, Burnt cabbage, Grilled sausage w/ whipped feta and their pita bread. Pita was good. Labneh was not bad. The dried tomatoes added some sweetness and juiciness to it. Paired well with the pita. The other two dishes were more or less disappointing. While it is common to have some bnurning on the veg, it is unacceptable to have over 50% part of the cabbage burnt. The pickled mushroom was good, but I really could not understand why they put horseradish puree and nettle sauce together with the cabbage. The sausage was even worse. The whipped feta, when mixed together with the gravy, turned out to be watery, having no flavor of cheese at all. The grape was OKay -- its sourness balanced the fatty flavor from the sausage and gravy, but it just paired strangely with the bitter, burnt radicchio... It would be much better if they simply put sausage on whipped feta, and garnish it with several grapes and some herbs. Not recommending the two dishes. The flavors were indeed over-crowded.

This place is insane. Loved sitting at the chef's table because you get to see everything. Everything is cooked on an open fire or in the oven. Everything dish was thoughtfully curated and every bite I took I really appreciated the care behind it. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. We had a great server who was prompt and friendly with some humor. Expect to wait a while after you put your name down but it's well worth the wait.

    Set of Top Three Spreads

Homer? I barely know her Jk. My friend got on the waitlist at 5:45pm on Tuesday and we were seated at 7:40pm so definitely be aware this spot is popular. The popularity is DEFINITELY warranted. I had the best hummus spread I've had in my life I recommend the Top 3 spread if sharing. Otherwise, my other favorite of the night was the lamb although it was a bit pricey. All in all a very cute little bit upscale restaurant that is a MUST try and doesn't break the bank too much.

What is the noise level in the restaurant?

It can get pretty loud-- since the restaurant is on the smaller side, the tables are fairly close to each other and with larger parties of guests, the chatter builds up very quickly.

What are some vegan or can be made vegan options on the menu?

Our menu changes on a near daily basis so best to check in with your server when you come, but I can definitely confirm there are loads of ways to make our menu vegetarian and/or vegan friendly!

Does Homer allow byob or a corkage fee?

hi craig! we do have a corkage fee of $20 per bottle with a max of two bottles per group. hope this helps!

Yes! I brought my son at 7 months and he sat at my lap at the bar. He made friends with the lovely folks who were cooking and serving and absolutely loved the food. We came back with him and another couple later and sat in a high chair. He loved it… Read more

I got a build-my-own saj wrap with the mushroom base saj $6, sumac chicken $7, tomato $1.5, cucumber $1.5, pickled turnip $1, and a side of hot sauce $2. The saj bread itself tasted good, but got soaked through by the juice of the chicken and became very soggy. We walked to a park 10 minutes away to eat the wraps and the wraps were bending. The signature saj bread is cooked fresh on a hot stone and is almost like a Middle Eastern flour tortilla with the way it's super thin and satisfyingly chewy bite. The only seating options are a few large benches on the sidewalk, but there's a poster saying you're welcome to sit at the neighboring bar which opens in the late afternoon provided you purchase a drink as well. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb. Tip: grab some extra napkins as the wraps can fall apart a bit at the end!
