(-) Water has to be purchased (+/-) Parking is hit or miss and can get full quickly One of the few chicken and rice spots in the Sugar Land area, this has been my go-to when I am craving it. Conveniently located in Telfair by Costco, it's a great place to grab lunch and sit down to eat, or grab and go, which is usually pretty quick. Unfortunately, their prices have gone up several times since their opening but it's not unreasonable. While service has not always been pleasant, I think I saw a recent picture where you can order at a kiosk, so maybe that can be avoided. Will be back in the near future. read more

Ordered some food from here to go late last night. Was ready within 15 minutes for pickup and the workers were kind when I picked it up! Gyro was packed with lots of filling! Falafel was decent, but the combo gyro was definitely my favorite part! read more

Fast service. Bright, clean, simple decor. Fresh food at a fair price. The meat is tender, the pita bread is fluffy and fresh tasting, and the veggies are crisp and cool. This is one of my "go to" spots after the gym, when I want something fast, but also relatively healthy. read more

Gyro Hut serves as a convenient place in Sugar Land to get a filling meal at a decent price. Each time that I have visited, the wait to order is either very short or nonexistent. Food also comes out very quickly after placing your order. Every cashier that I have interacted with has been friendly and patient. I typically get the combo platter over rice with white and red sauce on the side. While the food doesn't blow my socks off, it is still good and scratches the itch whenever I am in search of NYC style Halal cart food. The rice at Gyro Hut stands out to me as it is more fragrant and not as dry as other similar spots. The salad that is served with the plates are also more varied and contain more ingredients than other spots too. One critique that I will offer is that the restaurant is typically quite loud inside. Whether it be the music that is playing or just having echo-y walls, I always find the restaurant a bit too loud but not overly uncomfortable. read more

I've been coming here for past 2-3 years and it's been one of my favorites places. I can eat this breakfast lunch and dinner. Flavors are great. Only complaint now is that they downsized the platter from the To-go boxes to these small foil trays. I'm normally full after but I was still hungry after eating this. They were also stingy for adding more rice and corn when I asked. Looks like I won't be really coming here a lot. Ive also ordered the two platters deal on Uber Eats just recently, it was 2 chicken mini platters which is the same price of the regular size one. Used the Uber Eats promo to pick up 2 orders or the chicken and rice platter. The website ( and uber ) picture showed chick peas so I was disappointed to not see any chick peas in the platter. Since I am calorie tracking, I weighed the chicken and rice and it was 3.7 oz of chicken and about 12 oz of rice. I add my own protein but would have thought there would be more than 4 oz of chicken. With that said, order was ready when I left Costco( I ordered as I was entering Costco) and the chicken was tender. Came here to grab a bite to eat because it was near my doctor. This place surprised me. It reminds me of the gyros I had in New York. This spot is really good. The gyro and fries I had were perfect. Delicious, fragrant rice. Love the orange sauce. Succulent lamb. And the salad on the side is a good spin on the usual. All in all, this was such a flavorful meal -- and mouthwatering. I got the lamb platter so I could get the rice pilaf, which is very fragrant here and I'd say you're missing out if you just get the gyro. Intro: Before a show at the Smart Financial Centre, we were looking for a dinner spot close to the venue for a quick meal. After hopping on the trusty Yelp app, I came across Gyro Hut and saw that they have positive reviews so the decision was made. Service (4/5): You order food at the counter and then they call your number so there isn't much of a service component at Gyro Hut. Ambiance (4/5): Your typical fast-casual restaurant. Clean, modern, and comfortable. We sat at a table which had a booth on one end and chairs on the other. Drinks (3.5/5): No alcohol here, just soft drinks and fresh juices that seemed interesting but overpriced in my opinion. Their soft drinks are cans and bottles in a fridge. I went with a canned ice tea. Your typical soft drink offerings. Food (4/5): The food here reminds me of Halal Guys. You have chicken, lambo or combo platter options served over rice with a variety of sauces (red sauce, white sauce, etc.). They also have sandwiches and several other options. I went with the combo loaded fries with white sauce only because I can only handle a little kick when it comes to spicy food. Talk about a generous portion. I went to town and wasn't able to finish everything. Easily two or three meals. Crinkle-cut fries topped with a good amount of chicken and lamb and smothered in sauce. The lamb was the better of the two meats. The chicken, while seasoned nicely, is just so-so. The flavor isn't really there for me. On the other hand, the lamb, chef's kiss. The service, food, and ambiance were all positive, for the dining style and expectations. Great flavors and freshly made. But I truly hope any tips given at the point of sale are given to the employees. I always ask before I tip and I didn't get the feeling the employees there got any of the tip. I could be wrong, but if you go, ask before you tip on counter service. If there is a tip option, it should go to the employees, not the owners. I'm really hoping it does.
