Lamb Shank with berry rice and pita
    Emy A.

We came here for lunch. They have daily specials so we ordered those and from the menu. I ordered the lamb shank with berry rice (additional cost) , cardamom chai (too thick for me), and mango lassi. The lamb was delicious. The rice was okay. Pita was okay too. The service was excellent. The waitress explained the menu and daily specials to us.

Loved the food and the people at Kabob Cafe. Everything from the hummus to the chicken to the tea was delish! Can't wait to come back and try more on the menu. It's a small quaint restaurant with quick service and delicious food.

    Chicken curry

I hate to write this but this was just not good, at all. I had high hopes. I've been eating here for years but it's been a while. Ordered so many items and none were good. They Forgot our pita bread which I paid extra for. Chicken curry was too tough to eat. Gyro plate was way overcooked. Beef koubedeh was raw! And the beef and chicken kabob was so bad. They used to offer filet but now it's called "beef chunks" and we can see why. Inedible. Just awful. $125.00 I can't get back. Threw it away so I'm not happy.

No longer run by the same owners. It's now more of an Indian / Pakistani style rather than Persian.

This was my third time I have given this location a try and this time was so bad I had to write about it. I ordered a Chicken Shawarma and the entire sandwich tasted like fish of all things! I wouldn't be surprised if today being a Friday is their Fish and rice day. So to me this means they have no problem throwing together a "chicken " shawarma sandwich using rice from the fish. How else could the whole sandwich taste infused with it. I paid over 15 dollars to have my stomach turned. Three strikes and you're out Fadi's in Sugar Land. I will NEVER eat there again!!!

I am very much a creature of habit and usually order and stick to the same thing, but I have decided to make it a point to expand my choices on future visits to return here with a well rounded update review. Until then, I find that the owner(s) is/are great and always welcoming and make sure their patrons are happy and satisfied. It's a small shop with ample seating and the food is available for take out as well. I recently discovered how my expectations have increased due to Kabob Shack's wonderful food as they now set the bar for any other gyros I've ordered from other establishments and have found many don't measure up. Most recently I tried their competition in the same center and was so disappointed with what I ordered, that I made my way back to KS that same week to make up for it. If you simply want a great tasting gyro wrap with tons of flavor you can't go wrong with their lamb/beef gyro wrap (my favorite!) The meat is always so flavorful, the sauce just the right amount of garlic, and the pita is sooo soft and fresh. My mouth is watering as I write this, but be warned, the spicy is very spicy, at least for me. If you are not a fan of spicy you can request no spice without concern of losing flavor as it is every bit as savory with or without spice. KS does not skimp on anything. The hummus is also wonderful and I usually order it to share as it can be a great deal of food otherwise. I like that there is emphasis on the fresh without emphasis, you just taste it in every bite from the protein to the pitas. I believe this is what makes Kabob Shack stand out for me and sets the bar for other restaurants of the same to live up to in general. I highly recommend! Try it out.

The space itself was clean, cute, and cozy--perfect for an intimate gathering. The food was delicious as well. Although we didn't receive the rice we had ordered, they made up for it by providing extra pita. One challenge was that the AC wasn't working, but the staff handled it as best as they could by bringing out a large kitchen fan to help keep guests comfortable. When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, it was empty other than maybe one other family. When we entered we were told to pick a seat and then given the menus. The second I saw the menu it seemed a bit expensive- I was looking at the vegetarian plate where you can pick 5 which was for $25 I think- I got falafels, tazeki, hummus, another spread, pickled turnips. They didn't have many other options that were appetizing- I'm not into the eggplant or okra. While waiting for the food the waitresses were sitting on their phones chatting laughing, I thought it was unprofessional, that's not what you want to see when you go to a nice place. We were given salad- the salad already had dressing on it which was spicy! Me and my friend could not figure out what it is - it was tangy spicy I think from garlic more chemically tasting rather than Cheyenne spicy. A bit too spicy for both of us. I would have wished they put the dressing on the side so we can add on our own. The food arrived and was given pita bread as well which was nice. The food was not flavorful, the hummus tasted Bland, falafels were actually pretty good but only were given . The pita bread I was hoping was gonna be fluffy but this was so thin and chewy didnt like it. Everything wasn't to my liking or lacking something except the falafels which I only had two of. I think the falafel wrap might have been a better option but due to the price I won't be back.

It turns out they were here all getting food from none other than Al Mankal Grill, a longtime bookmark and one of the gems of Sugar Land. They're in good company, as there are multiple Halal trucks, serving different cuisines and specializing in all kinds of food. The local following is impressive, but seeing as they have a perfect rating across different platforms, they're clearly doing something right. I ordered the beef and lamb chunks, a $27 (with tax) which had the perfect amount of char with just a hint of smokiness. Despite the price, I was floored at how delicious it was. The chicken shawarma arabi ($12) is a popular choice, while the mixed grill ($18) provides some variety between the meats. The chicken skewer ($6) and lamb with fat ($7) were both outstanding. The guy behind the window was friendly and dealt with every customer in a long line with ease. Credit cards are most definitely accepted and the wait for the food ended up being somewhere around 20 minutes. I received my meal at 10:03pm because the DoorDash driver picked up another order on the way to me (ANNOYING BTW) but not the worse part. I had my girlfriend go meet the driver and tip him in cash, although he didn't follow my instructions; to contact me upon arrival to meet in lobby. When she got down there he was trying to take a picture to leave the food at the front desk. Anyways, she comes upstairs with a bag that looked different than the bag that was taken upon pickup. Brushed it off, checked out the bag and food, everything seemed fine. Off initial looks the gyrito was HUUUGGGEEEE! I was so excited to dig in. I love Mediterranean food I've been hooked since moving to CA years back. I love to feed my girlfriend so I gave her the first bite, she's chewing it.. then, I go ahead and take my bite. BOOOM, it's really saucy (*IM A SAUCE GIRL *), the flavors are flavoring, like they should....then, I taste something that immediately had my radar go off and I spit everything out. ITS LAMB!!! I'm like this is meat. I go to check the rest of the gyrito; there's indeed meat throughout the entire burrito. I call the restaurant told them the issue and y'all....they had the nerve to tell me they ran out of falafel for the night and that's why LAMB was put into it. WTFFFFF???!!! Why not just add more chickpeas since that's what falafel is made of???? Make it make sense. The problem is my girlfriend and I started to feel queasy because we've been doing a fast and parasite cleanse so our intake of meat has been extremely LOW for the last month. So I was HOT! Overall, I'm disappointed in the carelessness!!!
