Gyro Wrap Combo Everything was hot, fresh, and hit the spot!
    Bradford G.

TLDR: Solid. The Gyro Combo came out piping hot and had me wolfing down lunch. A bit on the pricey side at approx. $15-16 for the combo, but in the end, I was satisfied. Visit: Weekday (lunch) Order: Gryo Combo- 7.9/10 Everything about this gyro combo was par for the course. Freshly prepared and delivered to the table in 10 minutes. For my palate, the gyro begged for more of the tzatziki sauce or seasoning, but the higher rating stems from it being so fresh. The light crisp of the pita, fresh off the pit gyro meat, and fresh directly out of the fryer that were perfectly seasoned. Seemingly a family run business that has an old school charm. The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious. Def worth a try!

It's been at least 10 years since our last visit. We enjoyed it before when we lived in this area and now after moving back . We share everything with me getting the lion's share. My wife enjoyed 2 kebeh balls, deep fried football shaped bulgur and meat shells filled with beef and/or lamb....very tasty. I got the Dumar's Mezza Sampler, two falafel, two kebeh, two grape leaves, hummus, tabouli and baba ganoush, and pita bread.

Wait, is she the imported Russian specialty or is it the drink

There she was just a walking down the street Singing Dumar Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do Snapping her fingers and ordering kebab meat Singing Dumar Diddy Diddy Dam Diddy Do It looks good - it tastes fine - it looks good it tastes fine and my bill was under $9 Before I knew it she was ordering for me Singing Dumar Diddy Diddy Dam Diddy Do We ran out on the bill so we got the meal for free Singing Dumar Diddy Diddy Dam Diddy Do In Britain, "Dumars" (phonetic) means something totally different. And honestly, you have to be a Dumars not to love Dumar's. If it's cold out, this amazing food shawarma you right up. Dumaran Dumaran were always one of my fave bands, and now I know why. They were named after this place. Simon LeBon and John Taylor are almost as tasty as these kebabs. I've loved that band - and this kind of food - since I was only a three Gyrold. And a bit of a Dumars. Houston actually has quite a few good Middle Eastern restaurants and I would say it even has more than its fair share compared to a lot of other large cities in the US. However this may be the best one of all. Other than Darband on Hilcroft, this is the gold standard that I have found in the Houston area for Middle Eastern food. And that's Persian, whereas this is closer to Lebanese - so different cuisines really. From the Lebanon/Holy Lands region, this is unequivocally number one. Way ahead of all the late night Barbar/Aseel type options. People say I'm incapable of empathy, but I falafel for those people who have never been here. Absolutely afel. Unlike the French, who feel Eiffel. And the British, who are a bunch of Dumarses. Every single thing they sell from the hummus to the kabobs to the bread and even the service is top-notch five-star excellent. We loved every bite and will be back here many times in future. Like Roxette said... Hummus have been love. But it's over now. Because I acted like a Dumars. The crazy thing about this place is that the owners are directly related to the owners of Doumar's - which is spelled differently - all the way out in Norfolk Virginia. And I've only eaten at probably five places in the Norfolk area and that is one of them. So what are the odds of that? It's also one of the most famous places to eat in all of Virginia, and has the claim to fame of having invented the first ice cream machine or something of that nature. I forget. And their Limeades are very famous - and delicious. It's a pita that more people don't know how good this place is. But people are Dumarses. Barbie said Dumar's (this one, not the Limeade place) has amazing Tabouli and wonderful Gyro. I agree. You need to get down here and try everything. So I saw you here last week cutie. Do you come here kofte-n? Oh, I guess that pick-up line made me sound like a Dumars. Anyway, there aren't nearly as many reasons to drive down to Sugar Land as there are to go out to Katy, but this is one of the five main reasons that we come to Sugar Land on a regular basis - Sharetea across the street is one of the others - and we will continue coming here for the spectacular food available at Dumar's. Let's finish with a wrap. Because I'm a Dumars that likes to wrap. I mean rap. What's the best Lebanese? Well I heard a RUMOUR That my triangle wants to get lost in your BERMUDA If you head west to Arizona, you'll hit YUMA Very dusty place, brown stains on your PUMAS But I didn't notice, I'm staring at your BAZOOKAS Not much to do, so let's get a motel SOONER And I can make you cum real laude like a SUMMA Peel you and make you juicy like a SATSUMA Do Aztec rituals on your kitty like MONTEZUMA Procreate with you, make a few Baby BOOMERS Fly you round the world, spend a week in ARUBA Redefine in-Fidel-ity like Castro in CUBA Show you my trombone, and I'll play you like a TUBA When I go down on my knees, you'll sing HALLELUJAH I wanna dive deep and I don't mean SCUBA You're a bad beach so I swim in your LAGUNA You're marketable and I'm a rabid CONSUMER You have the hoop and I have the HULA I wanna put my Hammerhead in your BARRACUDA Yes it's eight inches! Watch! (Pulls out a RULER) OK, enough, I have a weird sense of HUMOUR So if you're Salvadoran then make me a PUPUSA Let's go to DUMAR'S like Harald and KUMAR (wait, they went to... never mind) But first, do my make up like JEFFREE STARR Buy me implants, I don't mind the SCAR Inject my lips until you've gone too FAR (wait what??) If you have a growth then I hope it's not a TUMOUR If you have a Monia then I hope it's not PNEUMA If you have a Tism then I hope it's not RHEUMA If you hear OMC, I hope it's How BIZARRE If you have a Thurman then I hope it can be UMA If you eat Caviar, try Royal BELUGA And if you have Chicken Of The Sea, it's TUNA! If you're in Paris? Learn to say Au REVOIR But if you're in Sugar Land - EAT AT DUMAR'S QUOI?

We discovered this place on DoorDash. What a find, because it serves excellent quality food! Gyro wrap: flavorful meat wrapped in a delicious, fresh pita bread (the thick kind). I loved it! Even the fries has great seasoning. Gyro plate: My husband got it and he really enjoyed it, especially the kind of rice they use and the flavoring of it. Pistachio baklava: SO GOOD. Right amount of sweetness and not doused in syrup like other places we've tried. How much do we enjoy their food? We've ordered from here three times in 2 weeks!

Falafel Sandwich (that's not pita, that's a tortilla). SMH.

Couldn't wait to do this re view. Quick and painless, like pulling a band-aid off of a fresh cut! First off, I witnessed Dumar's personality, up-close and personal. Not that he was extremely rude, but he seemed to be bothered that he was being pulled away from his lunch with his guests - at a back table, near the jewelry repair portion of the restaurant. He was rather abrupt. Now, to my order. I've been on a vegan kick, since the beginning of the week, so I've had at least two lunches that gave me some ides as to what I'm supposed to expect. Unlike my falafel lunch on yesterday, at Dumar's I got a skinny tortilla, instead of pita bread (which tore open when picked up)! The falafel was not fresh!! It was like a salad with old falafel thrown on top and then made into a burrito....and that's exactly what it looked like. A Mediterranean burrito that didn't taste good, at all. I can't see going back, when I've had better.

The space itself was clean, cute, and cozy--perfect for an intimate gathering. The food was delicious as well. Although we didn't receive the rice we had ordered, they made up for it by providing extra pita. One challenge was that the AC wasn't working, but the staff handled it as best as they could by bringing out a large kitchen fan to help keep guests comfortable. When we entered the vibe was relatable to the name of the restaurant but after a few minutes we heard Bollywood songs and I love Bollywood songs but I feel like the vibe of the restaurant should relate to the cuisine and ambiance. It automatically gives an impression that the restaurant isn't Greek or Lebanese for example. Anyway, we had ordered kibeh and lentil soup for appetizers. The lentil soup was the worst lentil soup I've ever had it was frozen we asked them to heat it but it still tasted disgusting. I couldn't eat it. The kibeh was alright the dip with the kibeh was good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken shawarma plate and combo kebabs. The plates came with a salad the dressing was interesting but I'm not a fan of feta cheese so I didn't have the salad. The shrimps and chicken kebab of the combo kebabs were not bad I really liked the shrimps. The hummus was okay and the rice was very bland. The service was quick I believe because everything felt like it was pre-cooked except for the kebabs but the beef kebab wasn't cooked entirely one of the pieces it was raw. The shawarma was not good at all! Very disappointing Our bill was $60 and we were charged a 2.5% fees for credit card!

During a stressful and emotional time, they made the entire process easy, smooth, and affordable, and I am so grateful for how kind and accommodating they were. I really wish I took pictures of the food after we displayed it out for the guests, but it was a funeral and my brain truly was in another place. We ordered the rice, a side salad. Both were in very large aluminum dishes, and two servings of felafel sides and then a mixture of beef, chicken and lamb wraps all cut in half. The owner personally spent time with me on the phone multiple times going over the menu, helping me figure out how to get the best variety of dishes within our budget, and making thoughtful suggestions that ended up being perfect. You could tell he genuinely cared about helping us, not just making a sale. The food was absolutely delicious -- so many people complimented the wraps and the rice in particular, and several guests asked where the food came from. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and homemade, not like typical fast catering or fast food. At the last minute I realized I didn't have cutlery, and without hesitation he took care of it for me and included it in the cost, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. I actually first tried their food when I gave birth at Memorial Hermann across the street in February, and I'm so glad I remembered them and came back to use them for catering. The quality is amazing, the service is even better, and the price was about half of what other catering companies quoted us -- with better food. I am very much a creature of habit and usually order and stick to the same thing, but I have decided to make it a point to expand my choices on future visits to return here with a well rounded update review. Until then, I find that the owner(s) is/are great and always welcoming and make sure their patrons are happy and satisfied. It's a small shop with ample seating and the food is available for take out as well. I recently discovered how my expectations have increased due to Kabob Shack's wonderful food as they now set the bar for any other gyros I've ordered from other establishments and have found many don't measure up. Most recently I tried their competition in the same center and was so disappointed with what I ordered, that I made my way back to KS that same week to make up for it. If you simply want a great tasting gyro wrap with tons of flavor you can't go wrong with their lamb/beef gyro wrap (my favorite!) The meat is always so flavorful, the sauce just the right amount of garlic, and the pita is sooo soft and fresh. My mouth is watering as I write this, but be warned, the spicy is very spicy, at least for me. If you are not a fan of spicy you can request no spice without concern of losing flavor as it is every bit as savory with or without spice. KS does not skimp on anything. The hummus is also wonderful and I usually order it to share as it can be a great deal of food otherwise. I like that there is emphasis on the fresh without emphasis, you just taste it in every bite from the protein to the pitas. I believe this is what makes Kabob Shack stand out for me and sets the bar for other restaurants of the same to live up to in general. I highly recommend! Try it out.

I love Mediterranean food I've been hooked since moving to CA years back. I love to feed my girlfriend so I gave her the first bite, she's chewing it.. then, I go ahead and take my bite. BOOOM, it's really saucy (*IM A SAUCE GIRL *), the flavors are flavoring, like they should....then, I taste something that immediately had my radar go off and I spit everything out. ITS LAMB!!! I'm like this is meat. I go to check the rest of the gyrito; there's indeed meat throughout the entire burrito. I call the restaurant told them the issue and y'all....they had the nerve to tell me they ran out of falafel for the night and that's why LAMB was put into it. WTFFFFF???!!! Why not just add more chickpeas since that's what falafel is made of???? Make it make sense. The problem is my girlfriend and I started to feel queasy because we've been doing a fast and parasite cleanse so our intake of meat has been extremely LOW for the last month. So I was HOT! Overall, I'm disappointed in the carelessness!!!
