    Hard and soft rice

Very quick service, no one was in line, ordered quickly, was greeted by a nice gentleman. Smooth transaction got my food, was eating it in parking lot and the rice is stale and hurts my teeth to chew it, so each bite was slow chewing. I decided to go back and let them know. Customer service was fantastic and replaced my dish with another. However the rice was still the same so that was disappointing. Other than that the flavors were good. Maybe dump the rice and make new rice, don't serve from the same batch

    Chicken strips, very literally.

No, no, and no! 15 minutes in the drive through with only two cars in front of me. Of course, there is a second lane on the other side. I don't know why they have two lanes when they don't have the capacity to serve that many customers timely (with walk up business too...) Order taker got my order wrong, despite seemingly clear communication. I said TWO kids meals and when it came to drinks, said BOTH with Dr. Pepper. I didn't catch that the total with the adult meal was a little low and might have alerted me to the mistake. My oversight there. Got our food finally. Yep, missing one of the kids meals. Also, missing the fries for the kids meal? And the chicken strips are literally plain chicken strips, no breading, not anything like what is traditionally called a chicken strip. About 30 minutes after eating my Gyro, which was decent except for being quite salty, I was sick as a dog. I felt awful. I threw the chicken strips away. I didn't want my kids to meet the same fate.

Had been wanting to check this place out for a while and am so glad I did! Their Greek salad is DELICIOUS! My only gripe is that they're pre made so I can't get it with no tomatoes (and there are A LOT of them!). All in all, it's a solid salad and comes out to about $8. Definitely will try more things on the menu ASAP!

After being the only two sitting in the restaurant for 10 minutes, someone brought us menus. Another 10 later, they came back for our order. It was a tad frustrating because an item I wanted to order had a well-worn sticker blocking it out. Placed our food and drink order. Several minutes later, someone different came from the back and said one of the two items was also not available. So another item was chosen. Drinks were not delivered (tea and a water) until the food came 20 minutes later. And the water was a tiny 8-ounce bottle of water. 1.5 hours and we were the only diners. That says something. Food - Of what we could order, the chicken tikka was good but not amazing. 4 stars. The lamb kabob was amazingly bland and tough. So disappointing as I typically love lamb. 2 stars. The hummus was thin and tasted too sour with no flavor dimension to it. Was it old? Better hummus has a slight nutty flavor to it and this needed more garlic. 3 stars. Rice actually had decent flavor. 4 stars. We had both the pistachio and walnut baklava. As a baklava connoisseur, the walnut was far better flavor and texture but both seemed dry and old. Bread was okay. When I look at the number or reviews from those in CA or OR with less than 5 reviews on their account (all giving 5 stars) - it seems clear that people want free baklava or hot tea, as they advertise at the table when you sit down. But they need to read your review first before getting the token item. I have better ethics and higher standards than that. Maybe the restaurant section is on the slide. For a $20 entree, not worth it. There is better in Boise.

A friend of mine practically lives here- every other day, like clockwork- and the last time I joined, he ordered a full mezze-style spread that felt straight out of the Mediterranean coast: impossibly creamy hummus, cool and garlicky tzatziki, perfectly seasoned kebabs, fresh veggies, warm pita... dish after dish, each one better than the last. This is a casual, no-frills kind of place- so don't come expecting anything overly polished or upscale. The missing star from others? It's purely about the ambiance. But the food? That's a full five. What really shines is the quality, the authenticity, and the consistency. Everything tastes fresh, vibrant, and nourishing- the kind of meal that feels both indulgent and genuinely good for you. Oh Kabob House... where have you been all my life??…read more Seriously, how have you been open for 8 years and I'm just now finding you? My husband and I found this place completely by accident. We were craving gyros and drove over to what used to be Gyro Shack on Emerald. I had almost suggested going to a different location because I didn't want to deal with the traffic, but we ended up on Emerald anyway. Lo and behold... Gyro Shack was gone. So there we are, hungry, staring at the building. "Well... should we try Kabob House?" Eh, what the heck. OMG. BEST. HAPPY. ACCIDENT. We went in around 1:00 on a Saturday, and I'll be honest... it was empty, which made me a little nervous. But everyone was so welcoming, and it smelled AMAZING in there, so we figured we'd give it a shot. Best decision. We started with the lentil soup, and I am not exaggerating when I say I would come back just for the soup. It's that good. Warm, comforting, healthy, full of flavor... just soul food. Do not skip it. We also ordered the salad, which was super fresh with an amazing dressing on the side, and shared the lamb kabobs. The portion was huge, the lamb was delicious, and can we talk about the rice for a second? I don't know what they put in it, but I could have eaten a bowl of just the rice. They also brought us a complimentary homemade cucumber yogurt dish (I can't remember what it's called), and it was so good. This was honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. When we got home, I looked them up on Yelp because I couldn't believe a place this good had been sitting there for eight years without me knowing about it. Sure enough, the reviews were fantastic. So if you happen to stop by and it looks quiet like it did when we were there, don't let that scare you off. Clearly lots of people have already figured out what we just discovered. In fact, we loved it so much that we brought friends back the very next day. Sunday lunch was definitely busier than Saturday, which honestly made me happy because this place deserves to be busy. The owner, Shams, actually remembered us from the day before and even gave my husband a hug. That kind of hospitality is so genuine and just made us love the place even more. This time we ordered the lentil soup (again... because obviously), butter chicken with rice, and a giant naan with hummus for the table. There was so much food we barely had room for it on the table. Kabob House is one of those places you almost don't want to tell people about because it feels like you've discovered a secret... but it's way too good not to share. Amazing food, generous portions, warm hospitality, and a really nice atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back. (And yes... I'll be ordering the lentil soup again.)

The atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in; friendly greeting within seconds of walking in, calming colors of blue and white adorn every wall with charming tablecloths on each table, and cute decor. Service was immediate with a carafe of water and a huge smile. I loved the vibe! Ordered a German Hefeweizen that came cold and frothy. Next came the Greek salad with the most juicy, crisp tomatoes, green peppers and cucumbers, then heavily sprinkled with feta cheese, a pinch of capers, and a side of the best Greek dressing I've ever tasted. I was originally taken aback that there was no lettuce, but real Greek salad doesn't have lettuce! I had no idea. Hubby and I shared the Broiler Mix from the appetizer menu so we could sample multiple items. The Broiler mix has 2 chicken skewers, 2 beef skewers, 2 Kefta patties, 2 chorizo, 2 pitas, fries, tomato wedges and a healthy dollop of tzatziki. The pita tasted homemade; it was soft, thick without being too think and didn't taste chalky. The skewers were exceptionally cooked...tender, flavorful pieces of chicken and beef. The kefta (lamb & beef) patties had a nice texture, which was enhanced with the herbaceous tzatziki sauce. The only disappointment was the chorizo as it was overcooked and dry. It was easy to overlook as everything else was a shining star. We would go back in a heartbeat....totally made me want to explore more Greek food there!

I was very excited to try the falafel in particular, which I had heard great reviews about. I ordered the Gyro Plate with a side of Falafel. Based on the photo menu, I expected the falafel to come with some kind of a dipping sauce. I also ordered a side of garlic sauce for my gyro meat. The owner Mohammed was very friendly and outgoing. I enjoyed speaking with him. There was another gentleman working with him, who was cooking in the back. Mohamed answered all of my questions. One of the things I wanted to know before I ordered was if they were using one of the popular brands of gyro meat such as Kronos, which and you can purchase just about anywhere. I was told they did not. I was impressed to see that this business serves Coke from Mexico. I commented on that to Mohammed, including that I haven't had real Coke since I was a teenager. He insisted on giving me one to drink while I wait. It was excellent! My food came out fairly quickly. I drove home and opened the box to discover that the cook forgot to give me any sauce for my falafel, nor was there any garlic sauce. I really enjoyed the gyro meat. The falafel was pretty good but needed a little more seasoning, as did the hummus. The small salad had good flavor. I did not care for the pita bread. It was very thin and seemed a bit dry. I've been postponing my review in hopes of being able to revisit this business and try some more of their food, but it's been a while since I've seen them around.
