We came in to try this place out, we are first timers and Tamara was a staff member that helped us. She was so friendly and took the time to know about us. She even upgraded our drink because my wife and I were sharing. She invited us to come visit next time we come back and she said "welcome to Idaho!" Small things like this makes our day memorable. We never been to Idaho until today and Tamara was the highlight to our visit. Please praise her for all her hard work. I witness her clearing and cleaning tables. Bring a coat or parka, they like to keep the temperature low and there are vents over every table so no escaping the chill. Small portions for the price, but the food was good. Noodles provides solid eats at reasonable prices. They are a great alternative to the more customary burger/fry faire of traditional fast foodish restaurants. Came here on a Friday night. We had a child in our party who enjoyed the Wisconsin Mac & cheese with much lip smacking delight. I ordered the small Mac & cheese, a caesar salad, and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It was all a-ok! The mac & cheese swimming in creamy, cheesy sauce and covered in shredded cheese. The caesar was decent and fresh. My dining companion (the grown-up one) reported their Pad Thai to be solid. It is not worth $8 for a bowl of lukewarm, chewy, undercooked macaroni, and smelly cheese. Although the food came out fast, it was cold and when we asked the workers to heat it up, they seemed annoyed. When we walked in, there was no one there, and that should have been our sign. It continued to stay empty until we left when only one couple walked in. The setting of the time we were there was quiet and ominous. My first experience with Noodles & Company was at a Yelp event at the Harley Davidson center. They had a booth and let us sample a couple of their kinds of pasta. I really enjoyed it and wanted more, yet never made it that way. After well over a year of "meaning" to try it, I did it! I met two people for lunch and we chose to sit outside on their patio facing Milwaukee St. I was craving pasta, yet trying to avoid carbs and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they now make their pasts with veggies, too. You can get zucchini noodles in place of the noodle! Yes!! We got the chicken curry, mac n cheese, pot stickers (6 for $5), Asian meatballs (10 for $5), and steak stroganoff. All very good. I. Want. More! After we ordered, we were given a number and to select a seat. We chose the patio. My friend, who ordered her food before me, waited 5 additional minutes for her food to arrive. Now its counter service so the people making the food wouldn't have known we were at the same table, but it still sucked. So not docking them for this. What I am docking them was the cleanliness of the soda/silverware station-- kinda gross. Generally, if the mess looked fresh or is customer caused and they're slammed kind of a way I get that, but this looked simply unclean... standing water next to the lids and behind the to-go boxes, water stains, and some dried on food. I'm confused at how many people were in the restaurant when I visited. Location/cleanliness: This was fine, clearly what was once an even "faster food" joint, the location was relatively clean. Employees: The gal who checked us out was very friendly and helpful, positives!! Food: This is where the 2 stars really kicks in. I ordered the truffle zucchini mac'n'cheese (okay I know, what was I expecting?!) and what came out was a strange truffle flavored cheese soup with an afterthought of zucchini. Intending on trying a couple of dishes I also ordered the green curry which was lackluster at best and at worse kind of a travesty to call it green curry. Listen, what do you expect when you can order Italian, Korean, BBQ, Thai, etc all on the same "fast-ish" food menu? I should have known better! Used to love going here. Now all you can do is order online and get behind all the door dash and delivery orders even though you are at the physical location. I had a coupon for a free bowl and so I sat down and tried to order, order declined. Talked to employee that said call customer service, called CS, no one to take calls can only send emails. They did let me order at the counter, however, I will never go back. I was running some errands and decided to drop by right as they opened. The cashier and cooks were amazing! They were so so so kind and super fun to talk to, especially that early in their shift. I mostly appreciate the zucchini and cauliflower noodle options for any and all dishes. I have a gluten intolerance and generally try to stay away from grains. I only tried this place because I needed food delivered because I was confined to my apartment after surgery. The doordash method is not the speediest but it got the job done. 1. Be careful when ordering meals with meat in them.. i chose 'no meat' bc i thought it came with the meal. but after choosing that, i got a spag (cauliflower penne) & meatballs with no meatballs :( 2. The 2nd night in a row we ordered it was a TOTAL disaster because of doordash. Once we got in touch with Noodles & Company instead, they apologized up and down, made it right, and comped our next meals. Unfortunately for them we were HANGRY by the 3rd attempt of delivery. Our first driver got a flat tire + doordash claimed to place the order again but never did. We went back after this because of how noodles & co handled it. And we will continue to go back. 3. *most importantly* i have not found anywhere in Boise that has this kind of variety/substitution + is fast and decent. Love that they have many Gluten Free options on the menu. Cut back on gluten without cutting back on taste! So many different options in regions of noodle flavor I always have something new to try. Came here with my family last weekend, and it really exceeded my expectations. I got the Wisconsin mac & cheese with parmesan crusted chicken and it was heavenly. That chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bill was around $32 for my family of four. Amazing. I'm seriously at a loss for words. This is a chain restaurant, right?? My son and I came in for our little lunch date, not wanting processed fast foods but still wanting something quick. I ordered the Thai Curry with shrimp and my son got the kids Mac and cheese with broccoli and applesauce. They have organic juices and the broccoli was steamed fresh! Our entire order with a $3 Smartwater and my son's Mexican Coke (yes, the glass bottled Coke with REAL sugar and no corn syrup) was less than $20. We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the kitchen staff and the young man (Craig) who took our order was knowledgeable and positive, maintaining eye contact while he was taking my order instead of looking at the computer. (Something that always strikes me). Our food was brought out by a THIRD friendly young man. Let me say there was not a single employee who seemed annoyed to be working here. One downside, my dish only had 4 shrimp. I would have ordered double had I known. Not a big enough reason to give this place only 4 stars, though. Looking around as I was INHALING my delicious dish that could have been prepared by the in house chef at SaWadDee, I couldn't believe it's set up like a McDonalds. These dishes and the staff rival the beautiful, expensive, 5 star gourmet restaurants I like to go to in Boise. Truly shocked and impressed. Even the soothing european music made the environment seem more elegant than it is. I found a new favorite place to eat. As a great home cook myself, I'm VERY snobby about what food I will pay a premium for. I frequently leave restaurants guilty and frustrated that I paid triple what I could have made taste better in my own kitchen. Noodles and Company does not disappoint. The sauce on the noodles was very sweet, not over bearing, but I discovered that squeezing some lime on top balances the sweetness out and Telly gave the dish a boost. I've been here a handful of times now and really enjoy this place. I've had on different occasions: Indonesian Peanut Saute: this is very similar to the pad thai minus the egg. It always tastes fresh and is prepared well. You can expect a noodle dish that is slightly sweet and tangy. Add some spice and you are good to go. Pad thai: very similar to the above but it has egg. There is almost no distinction. Compared to the average pad thai you could find around Boise I would say this is up there, but compared to pad thai in thailand this is pretty far off. Overall it was very tasty though. Overall this place was very solid. Prices are fair, the establishment is clean, condiments aplenty, and the drink machine is awesome. We had the pad thai with shrimp and the pig in Fig appetizer both were very delightful, and nothing felt heavy on the tummy. Which is surprising because when I normally eat pad thai delicious as it may be I always feel very heavy and full afterwards and I didn't hear. I love the concept, and like other locations of Noodles and Co, but for some reason this particular restaurant doesn't seen to be able to pull it together. We've tried them four times (the location in the Target parking lot is very convenient) but we've been underwhelmed. To be fair, our last visit was the best yet, but the food quality just isn't up to their other locations. I also feel $10 is too much for fast food pasta, especially if it's not perfectly prepared. I was so impressed by the attentiveness at the MIlwaukee location. I notified the manager of my gluten allergy and they took extra precautions to ensure I was happy. Also, my sister ordered the gluten free Penne Rosa (even though she isn't allergic) and added the parmesan chicken. They alerted her that the chicken has gluten in the parmesan breading and double checked that was okay, even though she told them she didn't have an allergy and just liked their gluten free pasta. So thorough of them. Price: Very decent. For a salad (me) and the GF Penne Rosa, it was about $12. Thank you to the Milwaukee team for the attention to detail! Good for budget & waistline.. Counter help here isn't the brightest.. They're not really waiters, so they should make some forks, napkins self -serve..or you cd wait awhile before you see/get help.
