Highly recommend this halal cart in queens! No line and each platter is only $12 and you get a drink! The combo chicken + lamb is the best with white sauce and hot sauce. Definitely check it out if you're in the area or you don't want to wait in line for hours in the city.

Lamb over rice, hot sauce is legit hot coming from an Indian person, however white sauce is tart and meat flaverless.

This review is done by a South Indian taste buds on 9/25/22 Your experience may differ. I have been enjoying halal food for years, predominantly in Queens and Brooklyn. There are two types of halal in my opinion. One that is more Asian Indian style and one that is middle eastern style. This cart is the latter. The difference is the rice they use and flavor of the food. Indian styles rice is usually more yellowish and flavorful. The meat is more spiced and cooked with more onions and sometimes you can request food to be cooked more spicier in which case they may add more ingredients like green chileas and spices. I visited this cart because it was close to my house and had many good reviews. When I arrived I saw four halal carts. This cart was getting all the business. Yes, I made the right choice I thought to myself! I looked at the cart personal. Not Asian based. I asked for the food to be made more spicy, lady shrugged her shoulder and said she will put more hot sauce. The food came out within two minutes of me asking for three combos of chicken and lamb over rice, a red flag popped in head. I had the lamb over rice. The lamb was cut into big chunks and tasted like it was steamed with no flavor. Had they cut it smaller and suauted it longer it might have had more flavor. The white sauce was too tart and no parsley, dill, or other ingredients incorporated in it. The hot sauce was hot, with really no flavor. The rice was an off white color and bland. The salad is just mainly lettuce, no tomatoes and no big slices of onion. My family did not enjoy the food. My wife can cook better lamb frozen from Costco cooked with Sazon seasoning, she uses basmatti rice and some spices to make the rice yellow and her white sauce is even better.

My go to: chicken over rice with bbq sauce and white sauce, $8

It's been a couple of years since I ate at a halal cart, mainly because a lot of them, while delicious, didn't have the flavor I remember having when I ate from there the very first time. Until now. I ordered my go to: chicken over rice with bbq sauce and white sauce, which was $8. It tasted just as I remembered it, the sauces were delicious, the bbq sauce was sweet and tangy and the white sauce was creamy and soft(?). The chicken was tender and still pretty juicy and the rice was fluffy. The lettuce added a nice crunch with each bite and tasted really good with the sauces. I wasn't able to finish the whole thing and ate the leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still just as delicious. Even as I'm writing this review, I'm thinking about going here again lol

It may look like it's over sauced but trust me it is the perfect amount once you mix it up. I got the white and a dash of spicy. This place is way better than hala guys by 10x fold. Cash only and costed $7.99. Came here 3 times during my visit to NY. Order ahead if you can they can get busy even when it's late at night!

    combo over rice

Food is ok but just for a good price but for a reason: they skimp on portions and undercook chicken ALOT, they don't show black customers the same hospitality as they do middle eastern, after lying to me about not having pita bread a lighter skinned older gentlemen with a white beard gave me reduced portions than my middle eastern friend who ordered RIGHT BEFORE ME not to mention the white hair found in BOTHHHH of my combo over rices. Not bad food, at a really good price, , just that hospitality is so optional and that's fucked up.

Chicken and rice and white sauce and there's just so much tastiness here!

Chicken over rice. Well isn't that nice. Nice? Not the right word (rhyming is fun, but let's be real). The correct way to describe chicken over rice from Hamza & Madina is deliciously amazing. Splendidly tasty. Incredibly mouthwatering. You choose one (it's a free country). But seriously, H&M Halal Food is something revolutionary. Though it's not like the tiny food truck on Hillside Ave just appeared the other day. I'm just the bozo who finally stopped there to dine on the feast that fills those styrofoam containers for only $6 (including a drink). I bow down to Yelp for obtaining Hamza & Madina at its recent Cocktail Classic and giving me the opportunity to learn how scrumptious the stuff really is. Better yet, one of the trucks is ten minutes from my house. Better better yet, it made for the perfect stop after driving down the road, coming back home from being away on vacation for over a week. Welcome to New York! Just in case you haven't Halal-ed, chicken and rice is just what you need. Tons of tender chicken on a generous bed of flavorful rice and some greens on the side create a well balanced palate opportunity. But wait. The white sauce! Make sure to get a healthy helping of that atop your poultry (and throw a little hot sauce on there while you're at it). Amazingness will then ensue in every bite. Your only challenge is trying to finish it all (though maybe that's not much of a challenge once your start chowing down). Don't want chicken? Lamb is present and so are a few other items so no worries, you won't walk away hungry (you definitely won't). Overall, Hamza & Madina Halal Food is the captain of the food trucks, especially when it comes to making the tastiest and most cost-effective dish you'll want soon after finishing. With my close proximity it's only a matter of time before I swing by again. Hell, even if I wasn't close I'd make a trip for it. You should too. It'll be more than just nice, that's for dang sure.

This is their food cart along union tpke
    Noel M.

There are two Hamza and Madina halal food carts here in the Floral park area, one at 253-11 Hillside avenue and a second one here at 256-21 Union turnpike between chase bank and the bagel shop, I usually buy my halal food here along union turnpike. My usual order is lamb over rice with salad, and my choice of sauce is the white sauce with 3 lines of hot sauce, I also get one choice of either bottled water or soda. The lamb that are usually cooked here is slightly crispy but not well done, not cut into large chunks and not too small just to add enough good texture to the food when you eat it, I don't like some halal food carts where they cut the lamb to small pieces as if it was minced. They are consistent cooking their rice with turmeric, they don't cook it soggy, the combination of rice lamb and spices are good, each ingredient not over-powering the taste of the other. The seller and the buyer here already have a common lingo on how many "lines"of hot sauce or barbecue sauce should be put on top of it, the more lines the spicier it is. For anyone who have not yet tried halal food or anyone who likes halal food, try this spot and you will love it comparable to other halal vendors in the area. Due to pandemic, they have recently raised their price up from $5 to $8. Just like any other halal food cart vendors, service Is fast and quick.

    It's some falafel time

Prices are great but I feel like the portions are small as other places give larger portions for sure with a slight difference in price. I never actually checked this place out even though I walk past it like everyday. My brother insisted we go there as he's a frequent customer of theirs. Personally to me the falafel platter should have more than just falafel, rice and lettuce. It's great to have blend of vegetables but sadly it felt like the plate was covered with white sauce mostly. Lines are usually long and waiting can be anywhere from 5-20 mins. For me this place is a no go as I have had better falafel platters for sure. The picture of their falafel platter looks different than what I got. It did not have anything beside lettuce, white sauce, rice and falafel. Oh wait it also comes with a drink. Rice were not good at all I hated the way it tasted.

Frank, this Chicken over Rice w White Sauce is to die for! Younis is the happy and loving chef/operator. Amazing, AMAZING!!!!!!!

Frank M, my Yelp buddy and dear friend loves Hamza & Medina and has been a regular there for years. How amazing is Hamza & Medina: 1) I went twice today at 10 and at 4 and got the Chicken and Rice and later the Falafel & rice and the Chicken Gyro 2) Can't beat the taste. Best I've had! The rice is so smooth, the white sauce divine!! 3) Can't beat the quantity- the very generous owners pile it on. 4) Can't beat the price- $5.99 for the massive Chicken or lamb over price including a soda or water. The gargantuan gyro was $3.99. 5) Can't ask for anything more than the love and care with which the two gentlemen Younis and Mohammed serve this amazing food. 6) 3 copycat carts have recently parked themselves next to and on the west sides of Little Neck Pkwy hoping to compete. I walked up to one today - the kid looked down and did not engage me or invite me in any shape or form. 7) There is a line almost all the time. Everyone loves Hamza & Medina. 8) They are super clean. 9) They are super fast and super efficient. 10) We can call in our order and have it ready for pick up 718 908 4163. 11) Open for 18 hours from 10 am to 4 am to satisfy our anytime cravings. My belly and I thank you Frank! Thank you Younis and Mohammed!!

Always busy. Lamb over rice is my favorite. Whenever I'm anywhere near the area, it's my go to spot. Other trucks nearby are not as busy.

The restaurant is certainly clean and I like how it's in the open so you can see all the action and cleanliness. I ordered their falafel whole pita sandwich and was told I can add whatever choosing I wanted. I also ordered two sides of their falafel balls to enjoy. They were 3 balls for $1. As for the sandwich, I thought it only tasted okay. I was very hungry at that point so if I thought my sandwich was okay then I know I'm not a fan of it. The flavoring was bland, I asked for spicy sauce but didn't taste any. I also asked for the fried eggplants to find out as I'm biting into it that there was none. Make sure you watch them when asking for your choosing. They might now hear you and you'll just end up feeling disappointed like me because I love the taste of eggplants. Regarding the falafel ball, I thought it was too doughy. I usually like them a little more loose and garlicy.

Instead, walk 10-15 minutes south on Kissena Blvd and you will find a group of street vendors gathering nightly on the sidewalk right in front of Gold City Supermarket. On a beautiful night, you'll find many people camping out on the ledge of the supermarket parking lot, or even putting out picnic blankets, while enjoying various street foods they can find at this great little "food fest". The street vendors are from different regions of China and serves all sorts of yummy goodies. You can find lots of fried items, soup noodles, grilled skewers, marinated meats and veggies, desserts, etc. One of my favorite stalls is the vendor selling hand torn shredded chicken ($25 each), which they dress up in seasoning and spices. They use an older chicken that has a firmer texture that won't fall apart when tearing the meat. The flavor is wonderful and absolutely addictive. They even give you a frequent buyer card that gets you a free chicken when you reached six purchases. The same stall also sells marinated items that are quite good. You are allowed to mix and match as long as they have the same price point. Another stall I would recommend is the stinky tofu stall. There are often more than one, but I like the one with the longest table space only dedicated to this single product, often in the middle of the block. If you have never tried this delicacy, close your nose and give it a go. You may be pleasantly surprised. Other stands that are popular include the BBQ grilled meats over charcoal, where you can get $2-3 skewers of lamb, beef, chicken wings, and whole lot more. Also, if you see the man grilling whole squids, his stuff is quite tasty too. Bottom line, it's a fun evening hanging out with your friends and snacking on various yummy bites. Be brave and try something new. Though there are few English signs, just order what looks good. Find a day with nice weather and check it out soon.
