Saw this place yesterday and decided to try it out today. Been looking for a place to get a gyro sandwich and/or falafel. Plus it's near home. Food was great. Loved the falafel and the hummus. Didn't taste too fried and the hummus was creamy and delish. Also ordered the gyro and that was great too. Wifey said the meat was very seasoned but everything else about it was delicious. Wait staff was super attentive and friendly. Not busy when we arrived. Seated right away. Food came out in a timely manner after ordering. Will most likely be back again. read more

Dry Gyro Dry Pita Dry Lemon Potatoes Maybe they had a bad day? Maybe I chose poorly off the menu? It is a Greek restaurant after all so choosing any one of the above three should've yielded at least one positive result. My Pre-Covid review, if I had the time to write one, would've been the opposite of this recent experience as I recall having a fairly nice lunch at the time. We ordered to go - combo pita as well as combo platters. The meat were all over cooked and stale almost as if they reheated it. The pitas were too hard on the outer edges. I visited on a friends recommendation, The owners, Bridget and Steve are very nice and wonderful people, As we were dining repeat, customers were coming in and the way Bridget greeted everyone like family, I was very impressed with the atmosphere . Melina & Ellie was great , All the food was delicious fresh flavorful, My favorite was the mixed grill, because the chicken souvlaki is gluten-free it's made with layers rather than the casing, Portion is huge. It also includes pork and chicken, souvlaki and loukaniko . the grilled octopus had a nice lemon, oily taste to it, the Avgolemono & lentil soup were perfect for a cold winter day ..highly recommend the lamb chops with rice, the Pizzilia was fantastic, Very thin layer of crispy Pizza like bread with slices of Gyro and cheese. This has to be my 50th time here. I'll keep repeating myself. The Grilled Chicken Platter with Fries and spicy feta is cooked to perfection. The owners and Samara are always so so amazing! I love catching up with them everytime I'm there:). Some other amazing dishes are the vegetarian platter and falafels! They are also amazing when it comes to being gluten free if need be! So fresh, delicious and very filling! We also shared a side of Greek fries. Crisp fries topped with feta. Service was great! Stumbled upon Gyrolicious on yelp. My family was craving a good Gyro and some Tzatziki and didn't want to drive all the way to gyro world in queens. This was just as good if not better. The portions are huge! I read some of the other recent reviews about the gyro being dry, however i did not find that to be the case. I find the grilled meats extremely moist and tender. Both the chicken and lamb gyro were fantastic. The spicy feta was extraordinary, and tzatziki was really tangy which i love. My kids had the fried calamari which they finished. Overall, a great option for a family dinner. And by the way, our server, Briana, top notch! Very attentive, and always asked how everything was. She was great with our 2 daughters. Great with kids, perhaps a future in teaching! Anyway, we will be back. Always good to support a local family establishment! read more

My wife and I went for lunch yesterday and we were disappointed. It was our first time there and it will be our last. First off there was no ambience to this restaurant. Stopped in for lunch with friends today, and it was just alright. The service was very friendly, but the food left much to be desired. I got the classic lamb gyro and was disappointed because the gyro slices were slightly cold and lacked in seasoning. We were a six-person group and had waited quite a while for our food to come, so I'm guessing that the dishes took varying times to prepare and mine was just sitting out before the rest were finished. The fries were hot and crunchy, but not special enough to make up for the subpar gyro. My friend got the falafel sandwich and mentioned it was very dry - she was able to get more tahini sauce on request though. We were a little surprised when we got our bill at the end because the sides were listed as $4 on the menu and then billed as $5. We started with the Greek nachos, which is a new concept to me that made me think, "Why haven't I thought of this before?!" Pita chips topped with gyro meat, Kalamata olives, tomatoes, warm feta, Greek yogurt and a little bit of fresh mint. So good! For entrees, we got the lamb gyro (lunch special) and a Greek salad with grilled chicken. Wasn't really too impressed with this place. I would say the food was mediocre at best. I had the lamb sticks and spicy feta. Spicy feta was delish and they provided me with plenty of pita bread. The lamb on the other hand wasn't seasoned well and was really tough. My friend got a chicken gyro but it didn't look all that wonderful. Only ended up stopping here on my way to a concert nearby. After a day out in the sun, with the cool evening coming, I was in the mood for a rich hot bowl of soup. I remembered Bill S. saying the Avgolemono was like his granny used to make. I never had his granny's cooking, and my granny never made a chicken soup without matzo balls, but I trust his tastes. The soup was really excellent. Rich flavorful satiny broth, with nicely diced veggies and moist chunks of chicken, just enough acidity to brighten the broth. A gentleman comes to my table and we start talking, I tell him I was named after my great grandfather Vasilios but I'm just Bill. He tells me he's not Greek and just bought the place .Well Opa! Lets start smashing some dishes for good luck! He mentioned to me he wants to change the business, maybe the name? He wants people to think about coming here for dinner, have some broiled fish (That I'm sure they make it amazing) and more Greek dinner dishes. It all sounds good, the name had me thinking lunch and counterservice which this place is not. As a matter of fact, its not a ocean blue looking, typical Greek spot. It's a large dining space with darker tones. My Avgolemono? Mmmm mm! Just like Granny used to make, lemon-y with small pieces of chicken and carrots. And my Gyro?! You have to ask for feta, its a one dollar upcharge which I didn't know until I looked at the menu again. I would have loved some salty feta with my Gyro, next time. And there will be a next time. This place isn't very easy to spot if you're driving by but it's well worth stopping at. They have the best chicken souvlaki ever!! The chicken isn't dried out like most places and had a great blend of seasoning. Their tzatziki sauce is so flavorful and has a great consistency. The best Greek restaurant I've been to and they have the most amazing chicken souvlaki. The place is clean, very friendly staff and the owner's wife came by to ask us how the dinner was and started cleaning up our table...which is very unheard of but I'm amazed at how hars working she is! She was so friendly! The servings of the platter can feed 2 people...so generous! My husband had the chicken and I had the lamb souvlaki which was also well-marinated, juicy and tender!
