My son has to stop at Naf Naf everytime we go through Minneapolis, so this time was no exception. He would give this a 6/5 if he was reviewing, but I am so I had a few things to note. First of all, we had difficulty ordering. My son wanted the pita wrap, but the lady behind the counter was not an English-speaker, so he tried to order directly as stated on the menu "Build your own with a pita" but she thought he wanted a wrap and a pita. We eventually had to get a second person and then a third to get it taken care of. That's the only downside. The location is super easy to get to, tons of parking. Pricing is reasonable, and the food is delicious. Every time we stop, my son gives me a bite and I wish I had gotten it to. The chicken shawarma is his favorite and it is awesome! We arrived just before noon and all three of us ordered bowls with falafel, hummus, and other veggies. Our bowls were assembled while we waited. However, there was not enough falafel already prepared for all three of our orders, so we told that one order would be delivered to our table. It arrived a few minutes later with three additional pieces added to the order, which we shared. That was certainly a wonderful gesture from the staff. The hummus, baba ganoush, fresh veggies, and sauces were all fresh and delicious. Naf Naf provided us with a very tasty and delicious lunch. I've only ordered delivery through DoorDash so take my review with that in mind. I absolutely LOVE the fries from Naf Naf. They're thin and curled but wide like a steak fry, and even though some of them are cold by the time they get to my house they're still crispy and delicious!! I usually order two cups of fries for myself. Their crispy chicken is actually crispy and still juicy inside but there is a really thick breading on there just in case that's not your thing. The rice and couscous is always moist and tender, the veggies are fresh and flavorful, and the new tomato based sauce they have is delicious! I'm not a fan of many of their sauces besides the lemon vinaigrette and I'm a big fan of sauce usually so I'm not sure what it is but I just don't like the flavors. The pitas are big enough to use two or three to eat a build your own bowl (I like to get a bowl and stuff my pitas with the bowl so it's all mixed and I can add what I want in there). You get A LOT of food for the price. I paid roughly $30 for a BYOBowl, extra pita, extra vinaigrette, and a kids meal with crispy chicken 2 sides and a drink. The food was fresh, the staff was nice. The food itself wasn't bad just was different and I'm sure if I was more aware of "what" to order it would have been even better. I was really, reeeaaallly excited to go to Naf Naf today. I haven't been to one in over four years and had delicious memories from the few prior experiences I had at other locations. Today I got the Chicken Shawarma Salad with cabbage, onion, pickles, garlic, baba ganoush, cucumber and tomato. After I got through the thin layer of toppings I realized there was barely any chicken and about 90% lettuce. I ended throwing it away halfway through and wishing I asked for double the meat and toppings to compliment the large bowl of lettuce I had left. I will stay away from salads at Naf Naf. I ordered the falafel pita combo and a side of hummus. (They didn't have tahini sauce). The falafel were crisp and nicely seasoned. The hummus wasn't the best that I've ever had, but it was good. I really liked their Naf fries, which were thinly sliced and quite delicious. They don't have an extensive menu, but they seem to do good with what they have. I'd return. read more

Food is put together customized for you as you make your selections like at places like Chipotlé. It's fast food at its best, and a much healthier option than most others. It's "boy-howdy" good (means really super good for those offended by beavers adding an "n" when spelling their style of home). I'm no unsophisticated beaver; I know what's great and what's wood rot. I'll sink my teeth into this food anytime. I wouldn't go so far as to say it gives me a woody - that's top honors to Beavers. We really know wood. But I can say it's excellent food. We've been in the EP area for a short time, and unfortunately will only be here for a short time, so we're making sure we get as much Naf Naf in as possible while we can! High ceilings, the ordering station off to your right and seating off to your left with more toward the rear. Beautiful outdoor seating in the back for those warm Minnesota days that overlooks a cute pond. Not many decorations or the most comfortable chairs. No TVs for you to stare at. A real get in, eat and please get out restaurant. Service: Not much service here. You walk up to the counter, order your food and you watch them make it as they ask you what you want in your bowl, pita or whatever you get. Then you pay! Food: The food is very, very good. I typically go with a shawarma of steak or chicken. They also offer a variety of vegetarian options such as falafel or salad. You can have a base of hummus or baba ganoush, then your meat followed by a series of different vegetables and sauces. I'm a huge fan of garlic so their creamy garlic sauce definitely makes it into my shawarma every time. You can also "Naf It Up" by adding fresh fried chips or lentil soup. I've had both and I prefer the soup over fried potatoes. It's a great portion size for lunch and won't leave you so weighed down. A go-to pick for me is the Chicken Shawarma Basmati Rice Bowl with half greens, chopped salad, purple cabbage, sumac onions, pickles and topped with the garlic and red sauces. Piled high with generous toppings and that oh truly fluffy pita (how do they get it so fluffy), this is a must try place. The food is packed well and travels superbly. Shawarma can have any number of toppings including various condiments and can have lamb, beef, or chicken in it. In contrast a gyro usually has tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onion, and can have pork as the meat. Shawarma is from the Middle East and gyros are from Greece! Naf Naf Grill might be a bit "different" then some of the fast casual concepts you've had before. It isn't a burrito, burger, or sandwich. But what it is, is a delicious fresh baked pita pocket stuffed with chicken or beef grilled on a vertical rotisserie with added fresh sauces and toppings. They also offer falafel (deep fried chickpea balls) and fries, which are actually more of a cross between chips and soft fries; but they are pretty good if you add salt and ketchup. My only criticism is that the chicken I had wasn't as strongly seasoned as I had hoped. I am assuming they don't want to turn off too many people with overly strong flavors, but I certainly would welcome a decent kick in the butt more. On my second visit I had the steak, which I found a bit tough, I had to spit a few pieces out because I couldn't chew them up. I usually frequent the downtown location, but I was south of the cities yesterday and will always take the opportunity to fit Naf Naf into my schedule. Plus I saw David's ROTD, not like I needed any more persuasion. NNG is fast-casual. If there's a line, it moves fast, especially since the menu is so straight-forward. Choose your meat, carbs, and toppings, just make sure you give yourself enough time to connect with their house-made pita on a spiritual level, as it deserves. The service was so friendly and efficient too! The nice woman asked me how my day was, with a smile! What! That is so freaking nice and hardly happens to me, let alone when someone is scooping meat for me behind a glass window. They have a good amount of seating, including bar stools, plus a patio. I was worried about finding my seat when I saw the lunch rush line, but most people take their orders to go. My current go-to: Chicken Shawarma pita with everything (except baba ghanoush), with extra pickles and garlic sauce. Green hot sauce on the side. Super happy I decided to give this place a try. My sister lives in Cali and is all about this place and their garlic sauce so I figured why not when I saw they just opened this location near my work. It's pretty much a middle eastern themed Chipotle. The restaurant is very spacious and clean and it's set up so you can MYO pita pocket or bowl. The "Naf Naf bakery" is literally one guy making fresh pitas but it's kind of entertaining to watch while you wait to place your order. When you get up to order, you first choose pita or bowl, Babaganoush or hummus, and your choice of protein....then, there are a bunch of toppings and sauces. The hummus is plain but that Babaganoush though...wow! Whether you are a noob or a seasoned Shwarma eater, I recommend going with the whole shebang when it comes to toppings and sauces. The combination of flavors and textures is a very enjoyable experience. I tried the chicken shwarma and it was good but even better with the toppings and sauces. The pita is super fluffy and chewy and it's stuffed with a generous amount of chicken. If you go the whole shebang route, it will be topped with purple cabbage, cucumber salad, sliced white onions soaked in oregano, garlic sauce, green hot sauce (hot cheetos level heat, get the red fire sauce if you dare), and mildly pickled pickles.
