This place is easy to miss if you're not paying attention, but it's tucked right between Jamba Juice and Panda Express, and it's absolutely worth finding. When we walked in, my wife and I were greeted by a very friendly gentleman behind the counter who helped us decide what to order. He was genuinely helpful and didn't try to upsell us, which was a nice change. We ended up sharing a plate, and it was more than enough food for both of us. The portions are generous, and everything we tried was delicious. The inside isn't fancy, but it doesn't need to be when the food and service are this good. If you enjoy Greek food, this place is a must-try. Even if you're unsure, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back and bringing family with us next time. read more

Great experience at this Mediterranean cuisine. Although the price is a bit high, the quality was great. I had the chipotle gyro and had a side salad and fries on the side. My to go rice plate consisted of chicken that was somewhat warm, rice that was room temperature, bagged iceberg salad mix with a small amount of wilted spring mix, 2 Kalamata olives, 2 half slices of tomato, and 2 slices of cucumber. The dressings were served on the side (which is always good for to go food), yet void of flavor, and the sauce was just alright. It was not worth the time or money spent (they also didn't have the coins for my change, so told them to keep it plus left extra in the tip jar). I ate a bite and ended up second guessing the rice/meat temp and threw it away, I didn't want to chance it. I hope this was just an off night, but I probably won't be back to find out. The food was mediocre, service was not good at all, and I hate how they nickel and dime you. I ordered a full dinner meal for $22. It had two skewers rice and salad. I was sitting right next to the cash register and I am a disabled senior using a walker. It was very difficult to stand up. Nobody else was in the restaurant. The guy told me I had to stand up in front of the counter to order my food. he couldn't help me, but there was no one there. I was right next to him. I was probably 3 feet away. I ordered my food a chicken skewer a Lula kebab with rice and salad. Again $22. $3.50 for a drink that was horrible cause that was not Pepsi they're using a generic syrup. The chicken was good, but it was very dry. The Lula kebab was good and juicy. The rice was undercooked. It was crunchy in the middle. With the dry chicken in the rice, I thought I would get a little bit of tzatziki sauce and a pita. But no! I had to pay on top of the $22 dinner. They will not give you a pita you have to pay an extra $2.50 for a pita. Then if you want tzatziki sauce you have to buy the appetizer for six dollars. I asked for a small amount of tzatziki sauce with a small pita to go with my expensive dinner, but no, he said no I have to pay extra. So my lunch was over $45. Then he wanted a tip! I'm right next to him. He can't help me by just taking my card and he wants a tip? I'm very disappointed on how they nickel and dime you. I'm very disappointed in the customer service and I'm very disappointed that when you buy an expensive dinner meal full meal, you don't even get a little bit of tzatziki sauce and a pita. Fresh flavors in the Turlock mall area. Small location does have 6 or so tables to use. They seem to have a bar, but I am not exactly sure what all is served. I was greeted immediately, and started to check out the ample menu. The owner helped me, and I decided to have the roasted chicken and rice plate. I usually get kabob style chicken, but decided for roasted. I also was craving hummus and falafel, but I did not want a 6 order of falafel. The owner was ever so nice and made just two for me, and served them with the hummus. The hummus had great flavor, and the falafel texture and spices were delightful. My Chicken and Rice plate was jam packed with salad, sliced roasted chicken and rice. I did my best to finish everything , and I got darn close. The only negative, was there mention or site of anything that would spice up the heat level of any of the foods. Popped in to get a good fix on my Greek food craving. Noticed Gyros & More was nearby and I decided to hop in. A quick and easy ordering process. A couple of nice people running the place feels more like a mom and pop shop like feel than anything else. It took about 10 minutes or so to get my order after placing it which is completely reasonable. The gyro was a perfect balance of juicy and firm. The pita bread sauce, which was like a dill yogurt based sauce, was balanced perfectly with good onions and tomatoes. Gyros and more easily hit the spot in terms of the craving of wanting gyro. I've had Mediterranean food many times and when I saw the rating I was excited to try this place. For the number of stars and reviews though, I expected more from this place. The girl at the counter was polite. Beyond that, there was no other personable interactions. The table we sat at was visibly dirty and when I wiped it down, the wet towel was full of dirt. The high chair though was much worse. There was layers of junk that I struggled to wipe off. The prices are not bad for the portion but the food lacked flavor. The chicken and ground meat combo was good but the rice was too plain for my preference, the chicken in the gyro was flavorless and the yogurt sauce was too bitter. I went to visit my mom in Los Banos today, when heading home down Hwy 99, I took a slight detour to on of my favorite Mediterranean locations. I absolutely love eating at Gyros & More. I always get the super gyro with extra meat and fries. This place only uses the best ingredients. I spoke with the owner and he shared that he makes his tzatziki sauce fresh every day. He also said that he special orders their spiced meat which is delicious! The service is always great and the food fantastic. As for the ambiance, it is simple and unassuming. One might think it's just another outside mall eatery. But don't be fooled, pass on all the fast food chains in the area and make a direct b-line to this place. You will not be disappointed!! I can't stress it enough. If you haven't been here and you are within an hour distance, you are missing out. 100% a destination location. I would easily drive 2 hours just to go here if it wasn't only 20 minutes away from where I live. We are so blessed to have this authentic and absolutely delicious Mediterranean Food in the Central Valley. I have tried many gyro places, especially me being Middle Eastern myself. The gyro meat is the absolute best I ever had, and that goes for anywhere. The gyro sandwich is a must-have. I literally want to and plan to try the entire menu eventually, but I don't think I can ever go to Gyros and More without getting the gyro. It's that good. Everyone has their own Doma and Falafel recipes, but both were delightful to eat. Finally, a Doma that has meat in it like I'm used to. Was very tasty, and if you never tried before, I recommend trying it as an appetizer and expanding your horizon. The same goes for the rest of the menu. If people only knew how good this place was, you wouldn't be able to get a seat. Enjoy it while you can before Guy Fieri finds it and puts it on his show, and then it will be packed and hard to get in. Inside, they had big screen tv's playing beautifully locations all over the world that were very pleasing to watch while I ate my lovely food. Everyone I have told to go here ends up returning again and again. I believe you'll do the same. Pro tip: get the supreme gyro that comes with extra meat. You'll thank me later. They have baklava as dessert, which I would suggest getting. But what I love about their location is they are in the middle of so many food options such as Jamba Juice, Wetzels Pretzel and Cold Stone ice cream which is always a great way to end a meal in my opinion. I was visiting my in-laws over Easter weekend, and the family got hungry, so we drove around randomly looking for somewhere to eat and decided on this. It was definitely the best surprise of the weekend! The food here is AMAZING. To be honest, I wish it was closer to where we actually live. I'd find excuses to go here every week. This is my second post-pandemic visit. Now I can definitively say it's not as good as it used to be. I miss Solomon and his family. They have gone from the thinner shoestring type fries to the thicker steak fries. I prefer the stick fries. My friend was disappointed in the portion size. I don't think we'll be coming back here any time soon. 1) they changed the drinking cups (plastic and smaller size), 2) no tea, 3) price increased 4) no greek salad but prepackaged regular salad, 6) they used saffron rice as a topping or garnish on top of the regular basmati rice and 6) they serve the food in tin trays like bbq restaurants. Seriously?? It kept reminding me of being back in high school, eating from a tray. I gave this place 2 stars because their gyro meat still tasted good but that's it. Hubby was disappointed due to the lack of greeting when we entered or when we left. It's missing that welcoming feeling we're used to from the previous owner. Great location for Greek food in the 209 area. This location has been around for over 15 years and there is a reason that it is still running. I have only been here a handful of times, but every visit does not disappoint. My most recent visit I ordered a classic gyro sandwich ($9.99). Comes with the basic ingredients of gyro, cucumber sauce, which i assume is tzatziki sauce, and fresh vegetables (tomatoes, onions, lettuce) all wrapped in a fluffy pita bread. This is a hefty sandwich and they really pack it. Of course, if you are a meatlover they have an option to make it a super gyro. I only did this one and struggled to finish it. The staff here are always nice and accommodating. They make effort for small talk and really make you feel welcome. I was recently inside for a takeout order and witnessed a worker try to help a man out who didn't have a phone, which unfortunately was down. But it was the effort that counts! They also have a little "bar" section where they have beer on tap. I wish they had more variety of options and hopefully update the interior and seating one of these days. read more

I'll say their portions were great for the price. The gyro that we ordered, as well as chicken was very dry. I am from Southern California and I've had so much better tasting meat from Greek/Mediterranean restaurants and take out as far as flavor and juiciness of the meat. The hummus tasted like crushed olives and too much tahini and almost no flavor of chickpeas. It was strange. The bread didn't taste fresh, either. It was almost like they took it out of a package and overheated it on a grill. We preferred via GrubHub and the ordering was easy as the menu is fairly simple and the food was ready upon pick up. They seem to be fairly liked by the local population, but if they'd like to stay relevant and keep people coming back I really think they need to improve on their quality of food. read more

I'm happy I did, I walked in and was kindly greeted by Benita with a warm smile and excellent customer service, she went over the menu with me and helped me pick. Ive at at numerous Greek restaurants. Ive got to say by far this one separates them from the rest. Something anout the cucumber sauce and chives . The meat was delicate not over cooked packed with natural flavors. The rice for me was on point. There was a perfect amount of salad. I ordered this meal over the phone. They told me it take 10 minutes. Upon showing up i didnt have to wait and was greeted with a smile and the utmost hospitality. Theres only 2-3 people i seen working around the afternoon time. No line or wait. We did order it to go, but after seeing how the surrounding looked we decided to eat inside the restaurant. Which was clean and had a soft lighting inside clean tables, napkins provided as well as silverware was clean. Id definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Wanted to switch it up a bit. Tired of the taco trucks ;) the dining area is a bit dark and there is no ventilation so there's a strong spice smell. I don't think I'll dine in but I'll definitely take it to go. It's not bad, just very overpowering. You have to order the food at the front and then have a seat. I ordered their chicken and rice plate. I did ask the guy to grill the chicken a bit longer because I like the meat crispy, he warned me that it would dry out the meat because it was thinly sliced but I was okay with that. I walked next door to get food for my kiddos and when I came back my order was ready. Parking on this side is a bit packed but not to the point where you can't find parking.
