This is my go to spot when I'm in the Turlock area. My typical order is either the gyro wrap combo or gyro salad. On my last visit one of my friends tried the chicken wrap which was just ok. The gyro meat here stands above all others I've had before because they get a slight char on the outside edges of the meat which gives it more texture and flavor compared to most gyros. The staff is always super friendly and the orders are prepared relatively quickly. They have a handful of tables for indoor seating and there is plenty of parking in this strip mall. Considering the lack of quality food options in the area I would put this place at the top of your list! read more

Got: Classic Gyro sandwich Price: ~$10 Value: Decently sized sandwich, filling and satisfying for a fair price I can only vouch for the gyro sandwich but hopefully, it should be an accurate reflection of the rest of the restaurant. Anyways, this place is in the large Turlock mall plaza with the Target. Fluffy pita, tomato, yogurt sauce, well-seasoned meat (kinda tasted like sausage to me but maybe bc I forgot what gyro meat tasted like lol). Nothing to complain about. Everything is wrapped tightly together in aluminum foil and stuffed into a plastic styrofoam container that looks like it would normally hold hotdogs. Improvement for management: maybe use more sustainable packaging but keep up the good work! Overall: Good value for a tasty gyro sandwich. Nice pita and has all the components of a gyro! Came here after reading some highly rated reviews. We got pretty lucky as it is off the freeway and was really slow right before lunch. It's in a packed shopping center with panda, Starbucks and other easy food spots. We ordered the traditional super gyro (beef/lamb) as it makes it to compare against other locations. They do have many more creative varieties I will try in future. The super gyro was hot and made fresh which was great, had some good flavor but the sauce lacked flavor and the meat pieces were thicker than I expected. Wanted to try this place as it's conveniently located right off the 99. Ordered a gyro plate, super gyro and a super chicken gyro. I ordered take out. I asked them how long it would take and he said 10 minutes. I waited at the bar for it to be made. 15 minutes later I ask where my food is only to see it sitting there on the counter... come in guys I was the only one waiting for my food and u couldn't let me know it was ready? That was irritating. Anyway, the two gyros were so huge that u needed a fork to start eating it. Hubs like the flavors and gyro meat. His only complaint was that the chicken gyro was a bit dry. Gyro plate was a bit overpriced at $16- came with A LOT of rice and so-so portion of meat and veggies. It was tasty and the meat had a nice crisp to it. I think the gyro has a better value than the plate and they could definitely work on their customer service skills. read more

It honestly baffles my mind that this place does not have 5 stars. I have recently learned about Mediterranean food lately, just was something I never thought to stop and try, and I am ashamed of it now as I went my whole life missing out on greatness. This place is one of the greats. I was coming out of Fresno for a doctor's appointment, I have my whole job everyone there stuck on Mediterranean food, and they told me to stop here since I live in Modesto and have had all the spots there, I couldn't wait to try here. First thing I can say this place is TINY, like seriously tiny, the service, food and ambiance, they should move to a bigger location. Because while we entered we were lucky we only had one person ahead of us and a full table cleared while we were waiting to order, we were able to order and sit right down. Had we waited maybe 2 minutes it would've been a different story. People were coming in and being turned away since it was almost close to closing. The fella at the front was a hefty guy that I told my Mother I swear he was in the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", super sweet offered suggestions though I already knew what I wanted to order but my Mother took his suggestions. I ordered the chicken plate, my Mother ordered the shish I believe and the gyro. Now I have NEVER tasted gyro, but this day I did finally taste it, per my Mother's request, and I am so happy I did, I am obsessed, this place is bomb. My Mother is an adult child, she has to have French fries wherever we go, and she ordered the fries, and she literally ate them all before she had her dinner, lol. But this place is AMAZING, whenever I am in Turlock I stop here, it's that good. My wife and I were on our way to the Bay Area on hwy 99 and we're starving, so we got off on the monte vista exit and decided on gyros and more. We've ate there a few times it's always good. This is a order at cash register sit wait for The place is clean always seating available and the kitchen is open and food cooked in full view. My wife ordered the chicken bacon ranch gyro, rice, salad plate and I ordered the super chicken gyro, salad, rice plate and Mediterranean egg rolls. The food was served with in 10min or so and was hot and fresh. It's a lot of food so go hungry. I came here on Sunday for a lunch break and was pleasantly surprised! It's a pretty small place but has everything you would need. Even draft beers. I got a gyro a la cart and a chipotle hummus which was suggested to me by the woman and the register. Both were delicious and it came up really fast too! Because of my immense hunger, I neglected to take pictures of my fantastic lunch - forgive me. The order was a super classic gyro (get the fries - thank me later), chipotle hummus with pita and a Greek salad. When I say things came out hot and fresh, I'm not even kidding. We also got the tzatziki and chipotle sauces for kicks - well worth it. The chipotle hummus came out first and was a nice hint as to what was to come. A hefty portion of delightfully smoky and spicy hummus with warm, soft pita triangles was a hit. The gyro was stuffed with hot, delectable meat (no scrimps here) and was mouthwatering - so tasty with those hot fries. The Greek salad was just what we needed to balance out the meal - fresh and crispy lettuce, tomatoes, olives and a strong sprinkle of feta cheese. Delish! Service was friendly and helpful and they made sure we had everything we needed. The spot is within a strip mall, but don't let that deter you, it's got a welcoming vibe with an array of tables and a bar (looks like possibly beer and wine service - but don't quote me on that). It's difficult to find good gyros and souvlaki, especially having lived in Philly with so many Greeks offering good food in so many places. Previously, my experience in Turlock has been limited. It seems to me that I got a slice of pizza at Costco. This time, I tried to look for something interesting. This place appeared to be across the street from where I was and I hadn't had gyros for months. Parking was a mess with cars going every which way. I decided to park far from the maddening crowd--or at least, further from the restaurants--better to have a car hit me than to hit my car. It was easy to spot this place from the parking lot and from the road. Inside, past the snooty lady giving me a dirty look, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman. Since this was my first experience there, I took a moment and selected a gyros--with a "g" sound this time instead of a "y" sound. (No, no, not a ggros instead of a gyros!) When I mentioned that I wanted fries, he mentioned the combo with fries and a soda for $7.95. That's as good as a price in a mall, and surprising given the upscale look of the place. I didn't know the way things worked, so I took my change and receipt and sat down at one of the handsome, expandable, folding tables. In a minute or so, he approached me with a drink glass. It was a little bit of a wait, but someone else brought the plate to the table, and asked me politely if I needed anything else. As I picked up the gyros, I noticed something problematic--the wrapping. It seemed as though there was a box of aluminum foil used, and it wasn't wrapped in such a way as to keep the gyros together. You see, there is a way to wrap in a conical (cone) way, so that you just need to peel away the wrapper to get to the food and you never lose your grip on the ingredients. It's handy and tidy. In any case, there was plenty of meat (spiced beef, no lamb, I think), lettuce, tzatziki (cucumber) sauce, onion, and good tomato slices, but no feta cheese. It was a good serving, especially for the price. Given the taste, I bet their salads are good also. I was pleased with everything, although this was a good gyros and fries but not great enough to have me driving to the restaurant just for that. I have a feeling that you won't find a friendlier place in Turlock. read more

It pains me to write this review - I have loved this place for over 10 years. When Solomon ran this, it was great. New owners have no clue what they're doing. I have been a couple of times since they took over & nothing is good & nothing has improved. The rice is stale. The Greek dressing has now been subbed with cheap Italian dressing. They seem like they're a high school band trying to be a restaurant. I gave you all 8 months and it's still the same mediocre offering. Other options in Turlock are much better now. You were the 1st place I found & loved when I moved to Turlock in 2010. Posting this review really hurts me. read more
