    Gyros Sandwich
    Ian B.

Great Gyros, Communication could be better. Have what you want ordered memorized/known beforehand for the best experience. That said, the staff was still helpful and mostly nice. The Gyros here are spectacular. That said, there's what I would consider beyond just a language barrier when ordering. Perhaps this was just myself but nonetheless let me help you. If you want a gyro in pita bread, you will order it as a "sandwich". If you want extra meat, cheese/feta, sauce, or etc you must specify you want it INSIDE the sandwich. The "sandwich" comes with Tzatziki sauce. Yes they have feta. The indoor experience is fine in terms of space, definitely on the smaller side. In terms of ambiance they have Arab music + Turkish coffee + Moroccan, Greek, and similar workers. Not a huge drink selection and didn't see anything alcoholic, but a pub is literally just a few doors down. It's been awhile since my last visit before this one but the appetizers and pizza were ok.

Thirty minutes ago my husband and I ordered two Gryo sandwiches, baba ghanoush, and falafel. They forgot the tzatziki sauce that we usually get with a sandwich. So my husband drove back to the restaurant to get it. They said it was already in the sandwich. The scantly dollop of tzatziki sauce was not enough. So they had the nerve to charge him $2.00 for the sauce that used to come free. Really, the last order of he got Gyro sandwiches, the sauce on the side was included. I have been going here on and off for the last 20 years, except for when the place was a BBQ joint for a stint. I guess loyalty and support doesn't mean a thing nowadays. I hope the $2.00 revenue was worth the lost business from my family. 20 years too long, time to find another local business to support.

Great food and friendly people, ate here twice in the last week. Today, we are trying their pizza.

    Falafel plate

Food was unexpectedly great. I ordered the Falafel plate. Falafel was perfect, soft on the inside with great flavor. The rice had some great flavor as well. My hummus was creamy and delicious!! I'm visiting from California and this was the best food I've had so far!

Really really tasty and worth the cost in the current economy. We had their Gyros and Falafels.

Tasty gyro for sure. Proportion was small for the price but made quickly and served with a smile. Flavor alone will make me go back again.

The fries are good the Gyros are as well, but since the new owners took over, it's just not the same as it used to be.

The order process online went smoothly and the food was ready promptly. I was disappointed by the gyro and ended up not eating it. For the uninitiated, a gyro sandwich is a pita bread filled with gyro meat, tzatziki sauce, and sometimes lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The meat is made of a blend of seasoned lamb and beef meat molded around a vertical spit. The spit rotates and the outside is exposed to a heat source. As the meat broils, the chef carves off slices or chunks from the sections that have browned. Typically the gyro meat is cooked to "well done." The meat in my gyro was not browned; rather it was lighter colored and had a mealy mouthfeel. I've eaten gyros in traditional Greek restaurants and casual eateries in Chicago, Austin, San Francisco Bay Area, and now Denver, and this was the first time I've tasted the meat cooked this way. Three stars because the restaurant looked well kept and reasonably clean, the service was polite, and it's possible other people are not bothered by manner of preparation of the gyro. I also ordered a side of hummus and it was good.

Both were absolutely delicious as far as freshness of ingredients was concerned. They almost blend the chicken mushroom and peppers into a thick mince and it's spiced beautifully in the cheesesteak The gyro was more traditionally apart and a tad dry but perfect with the tzatziki (I would ask for 2) Fries were a solid side. Fast service and the seating area is small but pleasant.

We both got the beef gyro platter and it was great. Halal Guys is always solid! The food is tasty, the ingredients are fresh, and you know exactly what you're getting. But that's not actually why I'm writing this review. I'm writing this review because of Marcus. That guy is fantastic! Honestly, I'll probably come back here for lunch next time I'm in Aurora just because of him. He's welcoming, funny, and clearly loves working with people. This is one of those places where you pick your ingredients from the counter behind the glass, and Marcus is not shy about making recommendations. I love that. The peeps working here know the food best, so I usually just go with whatever is recommended. Hot sauce? Sure! Actually their hot sauce is pretty hot and Marcus will try to warn you. If you don't handle heat well you should listen to him :) He joked with us and just made the whole experience awesome. Thanks for making a random Thursday lunch a good time, Marcus. We'll definitely be back!

The place is simply decorated (lighting is a little dark) and the vibe is simple. Towards the back there's a menu and an open counter with the food displayed to order.
