I came here during my lunch break. I was craving a gyro so bad, and I know this place is always usually a hit. When I got to the plaza, I was confused on the parking it is a corner store but there is parking on the side and in the back. I walked in and they have a screen where you can order, and they also have staff that is available to take your order. I ordered a gyro pita combo with fries to go. The place was a little crowded which you can expect on the lunch break but there were still plenty of places to sit. I sat at the bar and waited a couple mins and I saw them put the fries in and start to get the order ready. Everything was fast and fresh; I got my order in a couple of mins and went back to my office. When I got there everything was still hot and fresh and ready to be eaten. The gyro was good, but I felt like I was still hungry after. The food here is great! I ordered the rice platter with shrimp. The shrimp was delectably seasoned, just right and cooked to perfection. My husband and I both loved it so much. My husband ordered the rice bowl. Ordering on the screen was confusing, though. We had to ask to make sure it did in fact automatically come with rice and the girl my husband asked just gave him a smile like "are you serious" and told him it was the base of the bowl. Ok, we weren't sure but thanks for clarifying. The screen does ask if we want to add rice which is why he needed to ask. We were both feeling some type of way after that, but once the food came to the table, it was all good. Good food filling out bellies made us forget all about it. Every once in a while, I'll switch it up with some Gyroville when I actually remember that it's there and I'm determined to go there. It's hard. I mean it's attached to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. Like I said, it's hard. Sometimes I'll miss and/or dodge Gyroville's front door and fall into Anthony's by accident. It is what it is. Gyroville is usually pretty decent overall, but could definitely be more consistent. I was less than impressed with the quality of my meal on my most recent visit. I also feel that this place needs a makeover or just something to feel more inviting. Feels like any old fast food joint and not too exciting. Big contrast to their neighbor Anthony's. We went with a chicken platter with chopped up chicken breast, rice, Greek salad, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce. We also ordered a pita with fries and a Pellegrino Orange soda. I was going to go with the spicy chicken, but after the super friendly girl behind the counter gave me a sample, I could hardly speak from the instant heat, boy that was good, but too strong for me. Needless to say I went with the regular seasoned chicken. The fries were made fresh and I got lots of them. Everything we ate tasted very fresh and had excellent flavor. Last night I stopped in because I had a desire to eat a Gyro. I should have read my own review. Actually hadn't been back since I wrote the last review several years ago. I should have read it first, as what I said is still true. The meat is sliced paper thin. They don't even bother to have the wheel of lamb in the rotisserie anymore. They do have a lot of people that give this place 5 stars, but I think they've never eaten a real Gyro. Last night, they advertised on their menu a Platter for $13.99 and when I went to pay, they charged me $14.99. Boo hiss. I won't be coming back. read more

I went to Gyroville on a Friday around 7pm and it exceeded my expectations! I'm from NYC & I love gyros. They're so easy to find up there but I didn't experience the same thing in Miami. I had the traditional gyro and it was so filling and the ingredients were fresh & tangy. You can choose the types of toppings you want on your gyro and they have different meat options as well. My favorite thing was the different tzatziki sauces. I tried the original and the feta one. The feta one had medium spice. BOTH WERE DELICIOUS! I'm super excited I found this place. I work odd hours and I work in Doral. I live in Miami so I'm pretty unfamiliar with whatever options exist on that side of the world. A quick google/Yelp search suggested Gyroville and I have to say - YUM. I like the options and I like that it was ready SUPER quick! Pick up was a breeze, as I walked in and just snagged my order and was ready to return to the office. The bowls are great and the sizes, I would say, are quite generous. The sauces are delicious as well. My bowl fed me for dinner and then (with the addition of an egg) fed me for breakfast as well. Not too bad for under $10!! This is my first time trying Gyroville, I got a 'build your own' salad with chicken and the original sauce. The salad was pretty fresh and the chicken was pretty tasty. Honestly, I actually really liked it. Rachel or Rechel, not sure what her name is but she was the one that helped me out picking what to get. She suggested and made the menu clearer for me to pick from. Since, I've never really tried Greek food. Came here a week ago and it was great. Came here today, brought my parents and it wasn't. Arrived around 1pm and there weren't any customers. We ordered 3 traditional gyros, a chicken pita and a kid's grilled cheese. 4/5 The BBQ Chicken Pita ($8.00)was good; had the white sauce instead of the BBQ sauce, lettuce and cucumber. 4/5 The kid's cheese was also good. They used a pita for bread and a white cheese. It was nice and hot. 1/5 The traditional gyro, which was why we drove 20 miles for (35 minutes) from North Beach, were a let down. The meat was cold, not cool...cold. Last time it was hot from the steam table so whatever they forgot to do to keep the meat hot, they failed. Regardless of how the taste was, it wasn't enjoyable at all. Also noticed 2 guys working today whereas there was only 1 last week; 2nd dude had black Nike basketball shorts on but I believe he was an employee though as he was inside the kitchen. I definitely won't be returning, sadly, as our $42.00 lunch was a wasted opportunity to enjoy a great meal as a family especially after I bragged to my father about how Miami had a great gyro place. He was the one who asked why the meat was cold. I had nothing to say... Why these types of things happen when an employee fails to do their job properly is just sad. There was not a single component of this plate: protein, Greek salad, pita, basmati rice, Tatziki, humus, that was not excellent. Top to bottom this plate of food delivers. Many lesser restaurants would choose to excel in one of these while serving up a lesser prepared side, item or ingredient.
