This restaurant is gorgeous. So large and the decor is lovely. Jay, our server, was super friendly and knowledgeable. The food, chicken curry, lamb Rogan Josh and the chicken wings, was delicious. The cheese and garlic naan were soft and tasty and just good to mop up all the yummy sauces. But the best, by far, was the pistachio cheesecake with pistachio ice cream and these tasty crunchy crumbles of I don't know what. Omg. You have to get this. Decadently Delicious. I really enjoyed my Sunday lunch.

Good Indian place. When I travel for work always have to try Indian one night. Had it delivered. The garlic naan was good, a little on this thin side but good. The chicken tikka was good. Not too spicy, had great flavor. I try this all over and this one adds green peppers and onions. First time I have experienced it. It is a good place and in miami give them a try

Anyone who knows me, knows that Indian cuisine is my favourite. I am on a quest to sample as much Indian food state side as I can. The reason for the three stars? We drove out of our way after seeing the lunch dishes advertised on their website, which I perused beforehand, as well as looking on Yelp (I am a yelp elite after all). We sat down and then were offered menus. I asked for their lunch menu and was told, oh this is for take out only. Urggghhhh - it did NOT state that. Had I known this I would not have come. Now we are sat, so we peruse the menu for sit in. The prices are inflated, ie no lunch specials offerings. We then decided to leave or seats and order to take away. We ordered a chicken butter dish and also a chicken tikka masala. We left with our food and drove to find a shaded area in a park. Upon opening the bag, we found we had been given tikka chicken without the masala sauce. Therefore, we were very disappointed as this is not what we asked for. I adore my sauces so found this dish to be dry. Still, the food was tasty, and I would definitely try again, but would double check we received what we ordered. Disappointed.

This was my third visit, and I continue to love the ambiance here with the open layout and central fountain beautifully tie in the Indian theme. Our server, who I believe might be the manager or owner, has been present each time, attentively ensuring guests are satisfied with their meals. My husband and I requested our food to be super mild, but it came out spicier than we expected, possibly due to a language barrier. That said, the food was still delicious, so we didn't send it back, though my stomach definitely felt it later! Overall, the service remains excellent, as always.

Things have apparently changed for the worse. I used to recommend this place on social media. Ordered pickup. Was sitting there waiting for a long time, no proactive update. Customer service is subpar. Asked to speak with the manager and she gave me attitude. Did not apologize for delay. Definitely not the place I will recommend to coworkers or friends anymore. When I asked for the manager's name the other waitress with a ponytail and glasses, acted as if she did not know. I found it was Katia, abysmal experience. If she was having a bad day it should not be passed on to paying customers. Need better trained management.

We found a true gem while in Doral for one night. The food was amazing. Beautiful restaurant! The spices were wonderful and we would travel back again if ever back to Doral. We had chicken thighs done three different ways. We were so excited about the food and the flavors, we forgot to take pictures. Fantastic and attentive service.

Truly was an experience coming here! Although it was for a yelp event.. the dancers were top tier and the food was amazing. There was a Dosa (crepe) station. The crepe itself was very flaky and the inside was delicious and I'm told it was vegetarian friendly as well. Very big portion for one person. Definitely can share. Also there was beer that paired with all the spices in the food. I'm not much of a beer drinker but it was really good. The dancers were so much fun!! It was like a Bollywood movie come to life!! The restaurant itself is very big and I loved the fountain in the middle. They had a Henna station inside which was very busy all night long. They served a feast containing some things I was familiar with like Biryani (rice) , butter chicken, and naan. And some new things including a curry tofu. Everything was delicious and I could have used more heat but that's a personal preference. If you are looking for some good Indian food this is definitely the spot!!

This is off the menu, you have to ask for it but it's the chef special pistachio cheesecake

Omg the best Indian food ever!!!!! The desert is out of this world! Def would come back it's such yummy food

Our receipt - $110 before tip for a dinner for 2. We expected our tab to be a fraction of this when we ordered.

My fiancé and I had dinner at Ashoka last night. It was our first time visiting since we're not from Florida. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Tuesday evening, so we were seated right away. The menu was extensive with many tempting options. Jay, who introduced himself as the manager, took our order and gave strong recommendations since it was our first time. I had my eye on a goat curry while my fiancé wanted chicken curry, but Jay encouraged us to try different dishes he said were the chef's specialties. He persuaded me to try a dry braised goat dish instead of curry, promising that if I wasn't satisfied, he would gladly prepare me a curry as a replacement. I appreciated his confidence, so I agreed. The food came out fairly quickly, portions were generous, and the flavors were solid overall. However, my goat dish didn't hit the spot--I was really craving curry for dipping my naan. As promised, I asked for the curry sauce, and Jay happily brought it out. Unfortunately, things took a turn when it was time to pay. Here's where the experience went downhill: * The entrees we were guided toward were $32.99-$34.99 each, while our menus had listed them closer to $23.99. * A paratha we assumed would be around $4.99 (similar to the price of the naan) was instead $7.99. * A bottle of still water was also $7.99, though we believed we had ordered regular water. * The biggest shock: the goat curry sauce Jay promised he would provide (if I wasn't completely happy with the dish HE recommended) actually costed us an additional $12.99--making my dish nearly $50. I've eaten Indian food often, both in Los Angeles (where we're from) and while traveling, and I've never seen a basic goat curry dish priced anywhere close to $50. It felt like a bait-and-switch situation--being upsold without clear communication. When we mentioned this to Jay as we were leaving, instead of immediately resolving it (such as comping the sauce, which would have been standard service recovery), he explained that our meals were more expensive because we supposedly received the "chef's portion." This was never mentioned at the time of ordering, and it left us feeling misled. To his credit, at the very end Jay did say he would comp a dish for us next time to make things right. However, after this experience, I'm not sure we would want to return. Final thought: The food was tasty, but the pricing and lack of transparency left a poor impression. If you visit, check your bill carefully and make sure you're only being charged for what you actually ordered.

A horrible dining experience at Ghee Indian Kitchen…read more The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. The decor is sophisticated and modern, and the lighting is pleasant, perfect for a date. I also liked that the kitchen is open and integrated with the dining room. However, the service was terrible from the moment I arrived. I had an OpenTable reservation and stood waiting over 15 minutes at the host stand. The host disappeared, leaving me standing awkwardly in the middle of the server pathway while servers carrying trays had to ask me to move. I ordered the tasting menu. The snacks were the best part of the night: * Yellowfin Tuna Bhel: Spectacular, the best dish of the entire night. * Samosa Chaat: Quite good. * Green Papaya Salad: Average. * Charred Corn: Good but nothing special. * Crispy Broccoli: Phenomenal, one of the highlights. * Peri Peri Chicken Wings: Good, especially the sauce. However, after the snacks they made me wait more than 20 minutes with an empty table (the restaurant was half empty) before bringing any main courses. The main courses were very disappointing: * Chicken Tikka Masala: The worst I've ever had. Extremely bland. * Kerala Lamb Curry: Very average and completely flavorless. * Dal Makhani: Decent, the only acceptable as a side. * Turmeric Marinated Fish Curry: Excellent, the only main worth eating. * Seed Naan: Served burnt (they replaced it after I complained). The servers mumbled so badly when explaining the dishes that it was nearly impossible to understand what I was eating. In a tasting menu, having clear and proper explanations of each dish before eating it is very important, and that was completely lacking. I also asked four times for the house spicy sauce to two different servers and it was never brought. To make matters WORSE, when a friend stopped by to say hello and tried just two bites of my food, the staff aggressively confronted and pressured me, insisting that he had to pay for a full tasting menu. Their behavior made me feel like I was being scammed and left me extremely uncomfortable. I went very excited to this restaurant because of the great reviews, but it was a big letdown that completely ruined my date and dinner experience.

Apparently this has been there for over a year but I've never heard or seen this place despite being in the plaza several times in the year. I was looking for something different or new. While searching Indian, this came up and the Himalayan aspect peaked my interest. Particularly the momo dumplings being something I've never seen before sold me on this spot. The space is small but spacious, clean and bright. The hostess/waitress was nice and helpful when I asked for recommendations. We ordered the HIMALAYAN THALI SET( FOR TWO) which came with an appetizer, 4 entrées, 2 desserts, naan of your choice and rice. We were told it would take a while to come out because it all comes out at once. We said it was fine and ordered some steamed chicken momo to hold us over till the food came. Our chili paneer app from our set came out and it was quite tasty with a good spice/flavor. Maybe 10ish minutes later our thali set came out. We went with our waitress rec for one veggie (aloo gobi), one chicken (karahi), one lamb (korma), and one seafood (shrimp tikki masala). It came with one bowl of rice for 4 bowls of food. We chose the garlic naan but they had many different more creative options to choose from. The naan was good but not great. The aloo gobi was tasty as was the shrimp tikki masala. The lamb korma sauce was delish but the lamb pieces were a little hit or miss with some tender but others a little harder or dry. Maybe another 10 minutes after our main dishes arrived, the steamed momo arrived. It was tasty and very layered with different flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint. For dessert we got the kheer and mango kulfi which were unique. Without having a reference point for what a regular entree size is, it's kind of hard to say the cost value in the thali set for two, but if it's your first time and you want to try a a few things, it's probably worth it. I will be back to try the lunch specials next time.
