This is honestly my favorite restaurant in Miami. I go often for the Spicy Tuna Volcano and Beef Sukiyaki Bibimap. The service is always quick and amazing and the location is perfect. I love their rewards program, I get so many free things and discounts! Also, love all their happy hours through out the week!

I tried the meat lovers combo for 2 people. The flavors and amount of food was fantastic. I only come here one to two times a year, but every time I come here, it's a hit. When I think of this type of dining, Gyu-kaku always comes to mind. It's great for small or lager groups to enjoy a fantastic lunch or dinner. The employees have always been helpful, and always check in with the diners. Come and treat yourself!

Has gotten even worse. Some of the cooked dishes are still good like the wings and rice, but the meat quality is awful, which is the entire point of the place. The "tenderloin" was full of silver skin and gristle, was discolored/oxidized and smelled off. The asparagus came with 2 florets/tops and the rest was all inedible bottom pieces. This place was so good when they first opened but if they can't afford to serve quality meat then it won't last.

I've been to Korean BBQ, but this was my first time trying Japanese BBQ--and it was a hit! I really enjoyed the All You Can Eat menu, which made ordering super easy. We went with the $58 tier, and it was perfect; plenty of variety and well worth the price. For sides, we had the kimchi, cucumber salad, garlic edamame, and cheesy corn. The cheesy corn was a table favorite, it disappeared in seconds. When it came to the meats, we tried a little bit of everything. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The seasoning and sauces are subtle, letting the quality of the meat shine through, which I loved. Pro tip: the ponzu sauce is a must for dipping. Would absolutely come back!

Japanese bbq, aka yakiniku, where for $ 60 you can eat all you can handle for 90 minutes. You can increase for 90 items with some premium cuts for some $ extra. Because I am not a big eater I tend to stay with just 45 items and it is more than enough. Ambiance is traditional japanese bbq with grill in every table where you can cook your meat, shrimp, chicken and veggies. Staff was very kind. Correction max 80 items.

Had a fun girls' lunch out at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ spot! We were seated right away in a cozy booth with the fire station which made it extra comfortable. Service was friendly. We went with the lunch special -- 2 BBQ items for $15.95 which came with rice, a salad and miso soup -- such a great deal and just the right amount of food. Tried the Yaki-Shabu Beef, Umakara Pork, and Umakara Ribeye. While the Yaki-Shabu had a bit of gristle, the Umakara Ribeye was juicy and tender -- definitely the star of the meal. Great value, tasty food, and a perfect spot for a casual lunch outing!

Menu picture vs what it looks like on the plate...any questions? BTW... I paid extra for the ultimate AYCE specifically for these "ribs."

I hate to give a negative review to any restaurant, but especially to one from a chain that I have reviewed positively in so many other cities. However, this particular establishment does not live up to the standard of the brand. In fact, it falls well below the standard I would expect from any restaurant. I made a reservation and arrived within a few minutes of the time it was promptly seated. Two other parties were seated after me. Waitstaff came to those two tables immediately and took their orders and brought water. I was still waiting. Not a terribly long time, but enough for me to be mildly annoyed. My order was finally taken. My grill was prepared. My drinks were brought over. So far not so bad. After that initial lapse, the service was, in fact, excellent. I ordered the ultimate all you can eat. I did so because my favorite Korean and Japanese meats are the beef ribs. This one stated it was an upgrade from the basic menu which I gladly paid. The first meats came and were quite enjoyable. The meat came out much quicker than the appetizers, but that did not bother me. The beef tongue came out frozen and reminded me of the meat that you get at hot pot restaurants. The skirt steak was excellent. I sampled a few more meats before ordering my last course, usually my favorite, the beef rib. They say that pictures speak 1000 words. In this case that is particularly true. The picture on their menu was a savory and beautiful piece of rib that was practically begging me to pay the extra price for it. When actually served it was a hunk of fat devoid of meat. The accompanying picture says it all. Anything that I previously liked about the meal no longer matter; this is what I would remember. I have been here a few times and had planned to give it a much better rating, but wanted to try this more premium menu to see if it was deserving of the five star review. Sadly, it went south instead of north. This will be my last time here as this is inexcusable. A restaurant should've been embarrassed to serve something that looked like this! Sayonara!

I came here for lunch on a Tuesday early afternoon. As I sat there eating the restaurant progressively got more and more busy. I can see needing reservations if you come in with a large party or during peak times. They do also offer great lunch deals. I ordered a rice bowl with beef. It also came with a salad in the same bowl. The food was fresh but I didn't love that the rice got the dressing from the salad. It was too sweet for me. My waiter did a great job making sure I was good the whole time I was there.

Love gyu-kaku!! I usually go to the Brickell location as they have a full bar but the Pinterest location is just as great. My favorite restaurant in Miami is this one as I love the Korean bbq vibe. I typically order everything separately instead of ordering a set because you can get exactly what you want and it usually comes out cheaper as well. I always make a reservation to avoid waiting so I highly recommend making one ahead of time if you definitely can. 10/10 experience!!

This was my first time at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ. The food was pretty good and comparable to other Japanese & Korean BBQ restaurants. We selected the premium option from the "all you can eat" menu. The meats are well seasoned. Warning! the spicy shrimp is very spicy but absolutely delicious. I loved the kimchi and "addictive cucumber". The strawberry mojito is delicious. We needed handicapped accessible seating for our Mom and they were accommodating. The gentleman at the front was friendly and helpful, the restaurant and restroom was clean. We initially thought the restaurant service was impossibly slow but it was just our server Santiago. It took a long time to take our initial order and he never came back to check on us. Even my mother commented that Santiago seemed like he didn't want to serve us. We weren't demanding or difficult Santiago just didn't seem to want to wait on us. We tried to wave him down several times but he wouldn't even look in our direction. Thankfully there was a shift change and we got a new server, Manuel. Manual was fantastic, he was friendly and patient, he provided significantly superior service, he constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything, he delivered our orders quickly and was always nearby. If any of our orders were delayed he would let us know. I will return to Gyu-Kaku because of Manual. Santiago almost cost you a repeat customer.

Who would thought you could find fresh quality meat in a Japanese BBQ place? With the personal grill installed at every table, everyone instantly becomes an expert cook, making the perfect setup for the conversations start to flow... The Asian experience started with some soft appetizers like Gyu Kaku Salad (mixed veggies, topped with hardboiled eggs)!, Spicy Tuna Volcano roll (spicy tuna topped the fried rice), and the fried chicken karaage ), crunchy enough to taste like popcorn chicken! The main entree quickly followed up and was starred by the Premium Grilled meats ( steak, shrimp, and ‍veggies). I'm still drooling with the aftertaste of the meat, so fresh and on point because I could personally grill it to my medium-rare temperature And why not camp up the experience and leverage the fireplace to warm up some Smurfs (I'm not a fan of mashmellows, but after grilling it and topping it with the cracker and chocolate, it could easily taste like cookies & cream sandwich) What I enjoyed the most, is that we ate a lot, but it felt healthy ‍, as there was a lot of raw protein and veggies to cook on the spot. Sofia was our server and she nailed every request on time! ありがとう Gyu Japanese BBQ , it was literally on fire !

Good happy hour deals. Meats are good, lots of variety. Spicy shrimp is super spicy but good. Didn't love 2 of the appetizers we got - the takoyaki octopus balls (super weird wet texture) and the gyu sushi (rice soaked in soy sauce and completely fell apart). The spicy tuna volcano (crispy rice) was good though. Fried rice w beef was good.

Greeted us at the front counter...

I went with my whole family...And I had Sushi. 10 out of 10 stars! The sushi was super fresh! Expert hand made. The rice was phenomenal. The Tempura was excellent. The service was intensive , waiters coming by and asking if we are ok, constantly. Filling up our water, soda, and Iced Tea. The ambiance was welcoming. I will be back!

Recently, we moved to this area and have made this our go-to Thai restaurant and we also love their sashimi when you just want some great fresh slices of hamachi. Recently, I tried their pad thai. I am not normally a pad thai lover however, this pad thai is made with angel hair type noodles that really soak up the delicious sauce. Included in the chicken pad Thai is also perfectly cooked tofu and delicious pork rinds. Honestly, its so good that it can satisfy a pasta craving also. Their tom kha soup is also in my opinion the best in Miami. It's not overly watery or just coconut milk like most offerings. Pla tu makes it with fresh herbs and has a little bit of heat mixed in. It's so good. The pieces of chicken and mushrooms are also tender and not overly boiled like most tom kha soups. We also go for the sushi. Their sashimi is extremely fresh and we can never turn down some fresh sliced hamachi here. Lastly, yesterday we tried the Thai Donuts. I am not normally a fan but the waitress insisted we try and boy are we glad we did. They were warm pillows that melted in our mouths and we scarfed them down. I don't think I will ever visit again without ordering them. I love this place. Service is great. Food is consistently delicious and I will always be back.

But truly, it's that kind of excitement and life that allows a place like KYU to thrive. People want to be where the action is, and in terms of food - this is there the action is. Even with reservations they were a little slow in seating for a fairly empty restaurant (noon). Ordered drinks (tea $6 and coffee $5) then brunch. Seems like service coordination is very off. My spouse got the appetizer a good 15 minutes before mine. I had the biscuit, that was very tasty. The fruit, granola yogurt was good too. The main of crab Benedict was served, next although already cooled and the sauce a congealed. My main, after a good 30 minutes still had not arrived. Apparently a steak and eggs can be miscooked and they had redone it, never bothering to tell us. I did not try it there. Refills on the coffee were never offered. We took the steak and our cinnamon buns to go since we had been there long enough. The final kicker is they have an automatic 20% service charge in order to ensure the staff is paid enough. Seems like a business problem to me. Service was not up to that high of a standard. If you go during Miami Spice I hope they have figured out how to sequence the courses and get them to the table correctly while still hot.
