Hello! I walked in and the receptionist and another stylist were talking. They both said hello and would be right with me. I filled out some paperwork on what I was looking for with my haircut. Then I was led back to a chair to wait for Ashley as she was finishing up with another client. Her and I talked about what I wanted from my haircut and showed her a picture (first picture). She seem to know what I wanted then she turned me away from the mirror to start the haircut. I was seeing alot of hair being cut off but thought it was for the layers however when I turned to look in the mirror I wanted to cry as it looked like a boy haircut (nothing like I wanted). I had to show her where some hair was longer than the rest so she could cut it and when I got home, I found that the layers are not the same on each side of my head and the back is longer than the front which is one thing I told her I did not want. So disappointed and will definitely not be back. Now I have to wait for this haircut to grow out so I can get the one I actually wanted. I don't know what they put on my hair, but I have totally lost my curl pattern and my hair is stringy. I knew it as soon as she sent me in the chair after the wash my hair was just hanging. If your appt is at 3,.. just come at 4! Because they don't call you in hour after you appt was scheduled! I've waited an hour last last week for my appt and today 40 min and just walked about. We all have lives and we come on your days off looking forward to come get our hair done. We must consider peoples times and schedules. I just believe, a stylist should not book 3 clients at once. Or 2 clients at once. Yes they do a great job but having you wait for an hour is rude! When you planned your day out and rushed to come so you won't be late. You can give a free shampoo and condition for having someone waiting. When the stylist said "yes come at 3, it doesn't mean 3:30 or 4 or 4:15... it should mean 3 with a 10 min grace period. read more

left the salon feeling SO happy today! :D I was taken care of by the lovely Kimberly K. during my first ever visit to hair eco. she was very thorough with her work and was also very careful with my hair. i appreciated the amount of knowledge she shared with me regarding my hair and any questions I had too. I've always struggled with my hair bc I've never had a proper stylist who knows how to do curly hair before, so it was amazing getting to talk to someone like Kimberly. i even noticed how focused and observant she was with my hair at times to decide how to care for it. she also did really well explaining whatever she was doing with my hair and why she was doing it, which was also awesome. plus, not only did the color and the curly cut come out the way I wanted them to, I was also introduced to lots of new products that worked very well with my hair! Kimberly even recommended several other viable products that I could purchase for hair care too. My experience may have been different had I gotten the Owner of the shop whom seemed knowledgeable and understanding of what I wanted..but instead I had a gal name Angelica..whom seemed grumpy and put out. So I payed a lot for my visit and felt uncomfortable the whole time!! I payed $500 for horrible hair that the stylist assured me it was going to be beautiful when it came in..I'm new at hair extensions but not stupid but when I questioned my stylist when they came in she seemed very irritated and told me they were going to look different and pretty once in and hot ironed. I saved for this experience and was so excited..I left there trying to love it because I payed so much for my extensions that were kinky curly hair that was just supposed to be a soft wave. I missed one move up app due to my mom in intensive care so when I finally got to go in I just had one row taken out but then two weeks later I took out the other two myself because the hair was so kinky, dry and awful feeling!! Like I said before I'm just sad about something I was so excited for! I had at first brought my daughter in so she could maybe get a hair topper but after she saw how I was struggling with mine she then changed her mind..thank goodness!! It's so hard to capture how poppin my curls are after my trim and treatment! I've been natural sin e 2000 and after a stylist from another salon destroyed my hair almost 2 years ago I've been in recovery mode to get my old hair back. It's almost impossible to find a place that does natural hair right and harder still to find one in the Roseville/Rocklin/Lincoln area. They're tucked into a spot near Scandinavian Designs on the Rocklin side of 65. I thought their prices were fair, the shop was tidy and they're covid compliant. I was at this Salon for the first time on 09/13/14 and I will definitely go back! My hair is super curly and long, and it's always hard to find a place where they will take the time and be patient with my curls. Many times I have been rushed out of the salon because the hair stylist wouldn't save time enough to wash, deep condition, blow dry and straighten up my hair. So based on my own experience at other Salons I called Hair Addictions, let them know how long my hair was, my past experiences and that I expected their hair stylist to be 3 hours available for me, at least. The lady on the phone was super nice and said they were very experienced with long curly hair. That was nice to hear, but I was still hesitant to adventure myself at a new Salon. I found this wonderful place using Yelp. I read about their Brazilian Keratin treatment, that has no harsh chemicals, and decided to go for it! They explained they had a $200 dollar promotion going on, and that my treatment could go up to $220 depending on how much Keratin Product my hair required. It sounded good to me, based on how long my hair is (see pictures!). The salon is comfy, the hair stylists are very friendly and as soon as I walked in I was greeted. Soon Angelica met me and gave me a form to fill out. After that we discussed what we would do, and the work got started! 4 hours later my hair was straight, deeply conditioned, trimmed and I was happy. Total cost was $210 and I have Angelica a $30 tip. Surprisingly Angelica called me yesterday (09/17/14) to ask me how my hair was doing and if I was satisfied. I still need to call her to let her know that she is awesome and that in 4-6 months I am coming back! (that's how long their Brazilian Keratin lasts depending on the type of hair you have). The beading and threading immediately started breaking, I went in there at least three times for broken threading. So I was VERY nervous coming here to get my long curly hair flat pressed.. I've had horrible experiences in the past with stylists who don't know how to really straighten curly hair. With Celsee, that was not the case ! She knew what she was doing from beginning to end. My hair was sleek and straight by the time I left. I would NEVER go back. Literally the WORST hair experience ever. I was so hopeful and they sounded so promising that they knew what they were doing working with curly hair. I mean they are really nice people don't get me wrong. Super welcoming and all that other stuff. But they are so overhyped on the reviews its crazy. Maybe it was the person that helped me? Maybe she wasn't as experienced or something? Not really sure where the disconnect was, but everything about my hair was just wrong! For starters, I specifically said that I do NOT want my hair to look like I got streaks and that's what I got. I paid about 250 for a balayage when really it could have been achieved doing highlights because there is clearly no technique used when doing my hair. Not to mention she threw a color in WITHOUT even asking me if it was okay. Did not mention it once the whole time; not until she washed the toner out of my hair and I was walking back to my seat, she says, "I love it! I threw some beige in there to give it....[blah blah blah]" didn't wanna even hear what she said after because I was devastated at how light my hair was! It looked nothing like the pictures I showed her, BARELY had any of the swatch colors I picked out. Most of my head was covered in this terrible ashy blonde, which I am guessing was the beige she said she added in. Then to top everything off I asked for layers with a 'S' which means more than one layer right? No not in her book. Maybe she was ready to just go home by this time but my hair was FAR from layered! My hair was SUPER short. Which, okay I get it, I told her cut what you ABSOLUTLEY have to, so maybe she gets a pass on that one but I know for damn sure not that much of my hair was dead. I had JUST straightened it and seen it was no more than one inch that needed to come off. Then my so called "layer" looked like a chunk of my hair was just missing. I honestly cannot piece together what happened except maybe she styled my hair differently than I do so it looked one way to her and a different way to me when I styled my hair? I truly tried to make so many excuses or give the benefit of the doubt on this situation but there's just no way. I've cut my hair better than this; I've gone to "white" salons and still had a better experience. In all honesty I was probably better off straightening my hair and going to a place that works with straight hair. May have been short but I guarantee it'd be better than this. I am not even trying to be rude or bash this salon too hard; but I am just SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOO disappointed because I expected more from a place that claims they work with curly hair. I don't go to salons and let people touch my hair for this reason. I had even shared those fears with angelica and she STILL managed to screw it up by adding a color I DIDN'T ask for. Drove all the way from south sac to get a horrible hairdo for over $300... totally not worth it. HIGHLY suggest you do your research on each stylist before you sit in a randomly picked chair. One thing I do love though is how understanding the owner was. She was kind enough to refund my haircut even after I was rude. [rude was not my intention I was just highly angry about my hair]. I was a little apprehensive seeing as there are only 2 yelp reviews below me, but upon visiting their website I decided it was worth the chance. Their website actually emphasizes curly hair services, which are SO incredibly hard to find in the area, or rather, I haven't found any salons (besides Hair Addictions Designs) that advertises people who work with curly hair - if you have curly hair, you understand how important this is. So I called, and spoke with a very, very friendly receptionist (who answered all of my questions), and was booked a consult and haircut for the same day. My stylist was Angelica. She was very personable and knowledgeable about curly hair management and styling. I'm not your typical curly girl, rather I am biracial (black and Mexican) and have tight, kinky curly hair. Most stylists are intimidated and frightened by it. Angelica displayed confidence - she asked me what I wanted - which was shape. She co-washed me and conditioned me, and detangled my hair. She put some product in and let me dry under the dryer hood. Then she cut my hair. After the cut, she re-conditioned and rinsed me to give me that wonderful curl pattern us curlies love so much. :) She put some product in my hair, dried my hair with a diffusing blow dryer, and sent me on my merry way. As the review below says - no one tried to sell me any products. Despite the fact that there were quite a few African Americans receiving services, I wouldn't pidgeon hole this place as a black salon. If you have curly hair and are not black, take a chance and go see them! The salon was diverse and there were customers there who had hair completely unlike mine (non-black customers with very straight hair). So I wouldn't rule this place out just because your hair may not be just like mine! The haircut was only $40, which is probably the cheapest haircut I've received yet in the area. read more

Do not go there if you want good blonde color! Lori was my stylist and the entire experience was a disaster. I called to make an appointment and whoever I spoke to on the phone, I made it clear I needed a root touch up with highlights. As soon as I got there my stylist, Lori, told me she didn't have time for highlights. I said okay, just match my roots to my hair. She did not. I have blonde hair and my roots are a super light brown. She turned my roots orange. She told me she's been doing hair since '83. Yeah right! She dyed my hair and before she removed the towel she said "okay don't freak out!" And I did. My hair was orange. She had to ask another girl there for advice, if she should tone it. So she did. And it was still orange. She promised me that it wouldn't look orange once it was dry. So she started drying my hair, no product by the way, and didn't clip my hair in sections... so she never fully dried it. My hair was fluffy and still orange. She presented me with my hair and I told her I did not love it. She said "well you should have asked for highlights". When she told me she did not have time for highlights within the first 30 seconds of meeting her. Which I was fine with.... I just wanted my hair to match. It looks like I have orange roots. There is a distinct line of orange and blonde. She sent me out of the salon with half dried hair. It was still wet underneath and fluffy. And orange. Not to Mention she was rough the entire time. I'm not very tender headed but she was aggressive and tough which she even admitted to. It was terrible. The fact that she tried to blame me is disgusting. read more

I hate getting my hair done by strangers because I have long hair and have had in the past bad experiences but my photographer David Art recommended them and I was in love with the results. First I will start by saying I have very fine, thin, blonde hair! I wanted hair extensions and made a consultation appointment online with Jessica. Jessica showed me the different extension methods that could be used, ultimately we decided to use the sew in type method. Due to my baby fine hair I was very concerned in ordering extension hair that would also match my hair texture! However I was reassured by the staff that it was possible to find hair that would blend! After waiting a little over a month, I received a phone call from hair addictions saying my hair was in! A few weeks later I had my installation appointment with jessica. The hair I received was not at all what I expected, I have had Clip in extensions from Sally's beauty supply that felt more soft and real. I thought maybe it would look and feel different when it was all done! ... The next day after shampooing and styling my hair I could NOT cover the top track! I went into hair addictions and asked jessica to remove one of the tracks, because there was no way to cover it! Well now none of the hair blended! I was in tears, after spending almost $500 on hair extensions, and I was embarrassed to walk into the grocery store. Within 24hours I went elsewhere and had all of the extensions removed. All of the staff at hair addictions studio is extremely sweet! Jessica is awesome! From my experience I do however recommend that you research on the exact extensions you want! My hair is obviously to fine for these type of extensions, and unfortunately I was not told that from the get go. read more

I really wanted to love this place as it's supposed to be a place for curly girls to go. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I left with my hair undefined, dry, and poofy! I had more curls walking in, then when I left. Celsee did my hair. She's really nice but she had no clue how to style my hair. My texture is 3B-4A and it really needs gel to define the curls, as my hair is natural. She used flaxseed gel, which is too light and I told her this. But she went on to try to do something to my hair. She had me sit under a dryer to "set" my undefined hair. So when I got from under there, my hair was basically a fro. She went on to trim it and that came out okay. When she was done, my hair was looking like Frederick Douglas! Haha. The icing on the cake was when I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my ride, a different hair stylist asked if I was the next client! She thought my "done" hair needed to be done.
