The guys that installed my floor did not arrive in a company vehicle and did not have any identification (business cards). They identified themselves by saying they were there for the floor project. After connecting with Simply Floors early 2026 because of the shredding carpet and after a couple of inspections and coordination with the manufacturer of the carpet, I now have the replacement installed (June 1, 2026). The installation was a good process this time and the carpet will most likely hold up very well. Good installation, done within a reasonable time frame and confirmation of details beforehand was achieved. Would have given 5 stars if this was how it went in the beginning. Although I wouldn't recommend one company over another, I would recommend solid communication with all involved, especially with the install crew and company together so everyone is on the same page from the beginning and not just futile lip service. Follow-up inquiries are also important. Would I work with this company again---probably, since they came through with corrections.

In November 2025, I sought bids to have hard wood floors put in a bedroom I am converting into a pantry and to have my existing kitchen and entryway refinished so that everything would match and I would have ample time for the floors to cure before the pantry installation. Knots Flooring was one of the companies that came to bid the work but I ended up using another company and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. After two other companies came out and totally botched three refinishing jobs, I had to swallow my pride and reach back out to Knots Flooring for help. Athena was so lovely and gracious when I reached out to her to apologize for not using them and when I admitted that I really messed up but I needed their help desperately. Regardless of my poor decision making, they didn't hesitate for one second to come to my rescue. My pantry installation was scheduled to start on February 10th and despite the short notice, Knots flooring put me on their schedule immediately so I could keep the timeline for my project while allowing ample time for the job to be done well and for the floors to cure. Not only were Athena and Danny amazing and reassuring, I can't say enough about what a phenomenal job Renato and Julio (Cesar) did with my floors and the care and respect they exhibited for my house by taping everything off, removing my baseboards that were messed up by the other companies, securing my house, the incredible clean-up afterward, and all the little things they did to make my floors look beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for. If you're thinking about getting floors installed or refinishing your floors, don't waste your time taking bids from other companies, hire Knots Flooring immediately!

Disappointing rush job didn't turn out great. The owner said it would take 4 days to sand, stain…read moreand seal the main floor so we made plans to stay out of town during that time - since this isn't a project that you can stay at home for. The crew finished in 1 day +2 hours the next day. They didn't mask off our new kitchen cabinets (or anything else) as they were supposed to so everything was covered in sanding dust. They left in a hurry without locking up the house. The front door was propped open with the key in the deadbolt and all of the lights left on. They left tools and trash inside and outside the house. The owner was apologetic afterwards but accepted zero responsibility for his crew. You might think they would check to make sure everything was done correctly before letting us know they were finished, but apparently there is no quality control. There are several areas that look bad - ripples across the floor, stain on the carpeting, a splotch of stain in the hallway and a long hair sealed into the kitchen floor. We will have to hire someone else to fix these areas since we can't trust this company to be in our house.

We have heard some troubling things about CE's installers (and about contractors that the carpet shops hire in general) so were a little nervous. We also didn't want a team of installers out that we couldn't communicate with due to language barriers...no, we don't care where they come from but we wanted at least one person that was fluent in English so we could communicate. They sent this fantastic installer named Richard who did the job solo-nice since having a team of strangers in our house would only increase the nervousness. We are very happy with the end product. We've stopped in twice and were told each time that the refund is "coming," yet nothing has been processed. We were only given a handwritten receipt for the return and told another department has to process the refund, which seems like a very broken system. On top of that, the salesperson told us we received a contractor discount, which turned out to be untrue. Very frustrating experience and extremely poor follow-through.

I would not recommend this company…read more I chose them because the scope I discussed with the account manager included replacing my flooring and installing a new vanity I had already purchased. I verbally confirmed that scope with the account manager and paid an invoice that included a line item for that portion of the work. Despite that, the installer arrived without all of the necessary materials and informed me he was not comfortable installing the vanity. To be clear, I have no issue with the installer declining work he wasn't comfortable performing. What I do have an issue with is being told afterward that vanity installation was never included, despite it being discussed with the account manager and being a major reason I selected this company over other bids. The installer himself encouraged me to request a refund for that portion of the project, but the company only provided a partial refund ($180). As a result, I am left with an unfinished project, a sink currently being held up by a 2x4, and the need to hire a second contractor to complete the work. What should have been a straightforward bathroom update has turned into a major headache. By the time the project is finally finished, I will have spent significantly more than the original quote, despite choosing this company because I believed they would handle the full scope of work from start to finish.
