I contracted with H&L Charter for three buses for 3 day/2 night to Sacramento, July 10-12, 2026, for a learning and leadership retreat for boys in grades 6-12. In addition, we had several adult mentors. We had a fun, flawless, fantastic trip. The buses showed up on time for our pick up and return trips. The drivers were all friendly, professional, and safe operators. The buses were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Everything worked as it should. Working with the office to set up the trip and finalize the details was easy, efficient and timely. The prices were competitive or better than other carriers. We used H & L Charter for my daughter's wedding in June 2023. We needed transportation from Palm Springs to Palm Desert and back again after the reception. Crystal was great in coordinating the two big busses that went back and fourth. She answered all my questions leading up to the big day and the price to charter was better than all the other companies that I checked with. Juan and Cherisha were our drivers. After the wedding the bus drivers let one of the guests stream their music on the speaker and the whole bus was singing. I can't recommend this company enough and would use them again. read more

My daughter and some of her classmates went on an avid college road trip. They visited twelve colleges in four days. The school booked through this company and I am so glad they did. My daughter had an amazing experience and the driver of the bus "Henney" was excellent. He got my daughter and rest of her classmates and three teachers to each spot safely and back home safely. He interacted with the kids ,and the kids kept talking about how great their driver Henny was he even took a picture with all the kids. A Nightmare on Wheels: Avoid this Charter Bus Company at All Costs I recently had the displeasure of booking a trip with H&L Charter. Let me start by saying that it was an experience I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. From start to finish, it was a comedy of errors and a masterclass in incompetence. First and foremost, the booking process was a nightmare. The staff seemed utterly clueless, providing conflicting information and displaying a total lack of organization. It took multiple phone calls and emails just to confirm our reservation, and even then, I had little confidence that everything was in order. On the day of the trip, things somehow managed to get even worse. The bus arrived late, leaving us stranded at the pickup location for what felt like an eternity. When the bus finally did show up, There was trash wedged in between the seats the floor was sticky and the A/C just ran cold the whole trip. As if that wasn't bad enough, the driver seemed to have zero regard for our safety or comfort. The driver was weaving in and out of traffic as with hard stops and sharp turns a its as if he was driving with no one with him in the bus. To add insult to injury, the amenities promised on their website were nowhere to be found. No Wi-Fi, no working restroom the door was locked, and forget about complimentary snacks or drinks. It's false advertising at its finest. When it was brought to the owners attention she was VERY RUDE for her to be a grown woman she acts like she is the only child (ENTITLED). Very Unprofessional ! By the time we reached our destination, I was physically and emotionally drained. What should have been a pleasant journey turned into a nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of H&L Charter. Save yourself the headache and find a company that actually cares about its customers. Trust me; you'll thank me later. P.S. Best shuttle company around! I hired H&L charter for my May 2022 wedding held at my family's wedding venue located just outside Temecula, CA. Wendy and Christina were a dream to work with! Even though I booked months and months ahead, I kept running into multiple shuttle companies unavailable as it was Prom season. Many other companies attempted to charge extra or simply denied even speaking to me as our wedding venue was located down a short, flat dirt road. I was ready to pull my hair out until I found H&L. Wendy helped me with determining the best charter bus size for my group and helped me plan/map out the multiple shuttle runs for my wedding guest group. She sent a driver out to scout out the wedding venue and make sure the correct bus was booked for our location. Christina was our driver and she was professional and courteous! The bus was super clean and a new model and all my guests were very impressed! All my guests felt very much taken care of. I personally rode the shuttle back to the hotel at the end of the night with the after-party group, and Christina let us play our music on the way back, which kept our energy and fun spirits going . Yuck, The Driver was good and I don't want to put his name to this review but the Office staff was almost impossible to deal with and if I had time to cancel I would have. I first spoke to a Wendy and felt like she was too busy to talk to Me so I called back a few days later and spoke to a lovely Young lady (cant remember her name and I booked with her.) We have used H & L for our church retreat to Murrieta Hot Springs, Jan 12 and Jan 14. This company was the best charter company we've ever used. Their price was competitive and the good looking buses came on time (10 minutes before promised time) nice and clean. and the drivers were absolutely professional. But most of all, I have to talk about the office staff who helped me. Nancy walked me thru the reservation process with many emails and phone calls to the very end and made sure that we have got the time and location and every detail correct. We had to cancel one of the returning buses, since many were returning getting rides with other attendees. Even though it was less than 48 hour notice we gave to cancel the bus, they graciously agreed to the cancellation and gave us a FULL refund in no time. I've used H & L Charter twice for company events. They have always been great to work with. The contracts are clear & concise. I do need to specify that I book these charters from Michigan. But I have never had one complaint from any of our employees about the charter service. I've been told the drivers have been friendly. And the buses are clean. Contacted this company to Charter a bus for a family reunion for 100 of my family members from out of town. I spoke with Jody Merritt and her Mother Elaine on two separate occasions. When dealing with these two you will see that the old adage the apples doesn't fall far from the tree is indeed true.My experience when speaking with these two was a total nightmare. They were both unbelievably rude and unprofessional..I got the impression that they didn't like dealing with African Americans due to their tone.
