Lost my receipt and had all the tags but multiple cashiers would not help me out. 7 day old purchase but luckily, Junior was able to assist me and recognized that the clothing was unworn , in original bag, with tags and saw my bank transaction for the exact purchase. He was able to offer me a solution and for that, his willingness to solve a customer's misfortune was much appreciated. Thank you Junior! Had the displeasure to visit this store today to return a dress I purchased on line. There was only one cashier at the check out desk, and the woman before me wanted to return an item of clothing that was a gift, and she had the gift receipt. She had 2 toddlers with her, so when the cashier asked her if she wanted to pick something else out, the woman said no, she did not have time to look around and would just like to get a store credit and shop at a later date when she did not have the kids with her. The cashier told her NO, that she needed to pick something out today, they do not give store credit or gift cards, despite her having the receipt. She was annoyed, and said she called the store earlier that morning and was told to bring the gift and receipt back and it would be no problem to get a store credit. The cashier insisted that it was 'store policy' that she had to pick out something that day. So the women took the gift and receipt back and left, disgusted. I certainly don't blame her, and would have called Corporate to ask if that was truly their policy, as I have never heard of such a thing. When it was my turn to return the dress, that was delivered 2 days prior, had all tags on it, with the shipping bag and receipt, the cashier tells me the 'numbers' on the dress do not match the receipt, and did I have another receipt? I told her this was the first time I ordered anything from H & M (and it will be the last) and the receipt, with the picture of the exact dress I was returning on it, and the dress that matched the picture and size exactly and had all tags, was what was sent to me, and I had no idea what she was referring to that the 'number' of the dress does not match the receipt, but I pulled up the order confirmation on my phone and again, showed her the picture of the dress right off the H & M website, and held up the dress to show her it was the exact same dress that I ordered and was returning. She started saying that *I* should call Corporate and tell them I was shipped a "wrong item" and I could mail it back to them. I told her I was not mailing anything back and if she wanted to call Corporate, she could go right ahead, but I was returning the dress there, and asked to speak to the store manager. She immediately said she WAS the store manager (of course you are, honey! All store managers work the cash register when there are no customers at all in the store, right??!!) and then agreed to try to call customer service. The cashier did not even know how to dial out of the store to call customer service (manager?? I think NOT) so another employee came over and asked what the issue was. I told her I ordered this dress, it was delivered 2 days ago and I wanted to return it, with the receipt, with the picture of the exact dress on the receipt, and with all tags and even the original shipping bag. And for some reason the other employee was refusing the return. She told the cashier to return it. WHY ARE CUSTOMERS SUBJECT TO THIS KIND OF CRAP??? Customers that have receipts, tags on the garments, original order confirmations and anything else that I could possibly provide. But I have to waste half an hour of MY time with this ridiculous runaround. While there are people WALKING OUT of stores like this with thousands of dollars of UNPAID merchandise, you harass paying customers with receipts and garments with tags on them. And WHY are low level employees allowed to say they are the "manager" and refuse to call someone else with more authority over when they are CLEARLY not a manager if they can not even figure out how to dial out of the store. As the reviewer prior to me stated, I won't be shopping at this store again. Note to Management: You should train your cashiers to have a little more people skills and humility and honesty and friendliness when dealing with paying customers. I do love H&M. I always find clothing I like here, and they sell casual as well as suits and dresses. The men's section is smaller than the women's but it's all really nice looking clothes. I tried to return a sweater 2 weeks after I bought it with the original receipt and tags attached and I was not able to return it because I didn't have the original method of payment. I was told I had to exchange it for something of the exact same value and couldn't receive store credit. I told them that my card had expired and they said I had to bring a letter from the bank saying a new card is on its way. The company as a whole is ridiculous!. H&M is a womens clothing store with a small men's section. Strangely enough I did find a great guys Jacket for a New York trip so that warrants a positive review from me. My jacket held up well in the cold and wet weather and it also looked nice. Too bad I'll never get to use it out here in San Diego. - There's also stylish clothes for kids here too. - Not much selection for guys. - Dressing rooms are kinda crazy and are unisex. - Avoid H&M stores in "outlet malls". My girlfriends wanted to come in here after Nordstrom's Cafe for lunch so I figured, why not? Plus, they were my ride so I can't leave without them LOL. I didn't have anything in mind and wasn't planning to purchase anything but we were talking about the horse races coming up in the summer time and how I already have a brand new dress for it and that I needed a hat to go with it. So when we walked in, I found my big hat, in white! For $9.95! SCORE! Unbelievable "Customer service here". I wanted to buy a Cardigan that was $27 online but out of stock. This store had it but it was $40 for some reason. I pointed out to the cashier that it was $27 online and he said they can't match the online price which makes no sense. Whenever I'm at this mall, I manage to work myself over to this store. During this visit, I wasn't really looking for anything in particular - just perusing between stores. I found a couple of cute halter dresses and headed off to the fitting rooms. Normally, there's a line out the door, but during my visit, I was able to grab a room quickly. My only issue with H&M is their sizes. I'm normally a size 4 (by H&M standards), and now I'm a size 6?! UGHHHH! I had to exchange all my dresses to the next size up after my multiple attempts to try to squeeze into a 4. Are their sizes shrinking or am I seriously gaining weight ?! Annoyed, I made it out of there with a black halter dress since it was the only dress that fit. read more

Because I didn't have my original form of payment ON HAND I would not be given that $13 back- not store credit, not cash, not to the original form of payment. Very affordable European fashion in the Escondido mall tha thas been under nice facelift! I love going to this mall and H&M is one of my favorite stores. It is not easy to find cheap, colorful mini skirts A-shaped any time of the year. Well, I have to say that I always find the ones I want here. Same with berets and belts, they have a constantly changing variety and also I like H&M magazines/catalogs that I keep at home when I was to check what I would get next. Remember though, that if you are a little bit overweight this store is not for you. Sizes tend to be very small. read more

The store has a good selection for women, a decent area for men and the staff is down to earth. The H&M company style is very "fashion forward" and this is always reflected by the in-store signage that backs up the new selections. It's nice to know some stores still care about their image once they have you "hooked" and inside. They layout of the clothes makes sense stopping your significant other from wondering around for hours trying to find something they want to try on. This has been a struggle for me with some stores in the past but H&M always seems to be a sure-shot for a quick trip to the dressing room for my wife. There are usually plenty of items on sale but you're still usually spending about $20 per items at the end of it all. read more

I'd never been to this H&M and was impressed. I found it easier to wander than other H&M"s I've been too, seemed a little more organized. The isles seemed wider, which was nice, it gave it less of a Thrift Store feel and it made me want to browse more. It caught my eye that they had a full kids section and the men's section was decently stocked as well. The dressing rooms were small, but clean and well managed. The attendant was friendly and very helpful. Wish I hadn't been in such a rush or I'd have spent a lot more time here. I'll be back! read more

I went here on a late weekday afternoon to use an old gift card. There was a great selection of cute business casual clothes and the prices were good. However, finding my size was extremely difficult because all of the racks were overstocked with similar looking items. For example, there were racks of black women's slacks with at least 4 different styles of similar items all mixed together. I'd finally find my size, only to realize it wasn't the same style as the pair on the front of the rack. Then came the challenge of extracting the hanger from the overcrowded rack without knocking else everything down. The employees were also very unwelcoming and unhelpful. As other reviewers have stated, they seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves than in creating a friendly atmosphere for customers. The people at the fitting rooms wouldn't even make eye contact with me. I've never felt more uncomfortable or awkward in a retail store; it was like showing up to a party you weren't invited to. I've worked a lot of customer service jobs and it really isn't that hard to at least be friendly. If you hate your job, fair enough, but don't take it out on me. Anyway, I'm glad I finally used this gift card, because I won't be going to this store ever again. read more

I came here yesterday so look for something that I need for my outfit on Sunday and when I shop here, I make sure to look everywhere for all the things that are tucked away in hidden spots. This store is always changing so make sure to check everything to find all the little things that are here. When I came to pay, I double checked to make sure that the cashier was able to break $100 bill, and when she went to ring me up she entered the wrong amount that I gave her. When she went to calculate what my change was, the cashier had to do the math written out. Have we all become so reliant on computers that we don't know how to do simple math anymore?! read more

Most importantly, at a very reasonable price. Children's clothing start at $4.95. Women's start at $9.95. Not too shabby... Especially, if you are shopping for a family of four! Overall, the staff seems pretty friendly and helpful. Going through the store can be overwhelming with clothes everywhere. It would be nice if it were more organized and less chaotic. read more

H&M has a maternity section.. and I know that they have one in the Ontario Mills location.. but I searched that store up and down and up and down.. couldn't find it to save my life.. Hubby and I go here.. voila! Found it!! It's a small selection.. but their stuff is pretty cute and pretty affordable.. I ended up getting a really cute top for $12.95. The store is usually quite crowded.. but the day we went it wasn't too bad.. A small line at the fitting rooms.. A small line at the register.. There was a 40% off coupon going around the internet for the weekend of October 11th.. I was here with my girlfriend and we rang up separately - she went up first. They looked confused when presented with the coupon but still gave my girlfriend the discount. But afterwards, when I came up, they then proceeded to deny me the same discount they JUST applied to my girlfriend's purchase. Where the hell is the logic in that? The manager that told me the the coupon was fake was ridiculously misinformed and didn't make any attempt to work with me -- they were not fabricated as I went to the one in Fashion Valley the very same day where they applied the discount with the "fake coupon," no problem at all. I like H&M as a brand, but I was never a fan of this particular store. At least I have a solid reason to never come back to this one. read more

Loove looove this store, so when I found out it was in the North County fair mall I was excited. I really shouldn't be shopping for clothes right now, but needed a dress to wear for a birthday party that I'm attending this upcoming weekend. This store has tons of cute dresses, quality sweaters and blazers and had a crap load of accessories. I purchased 2 dresses, a peach tank top, a headband and some black opaque tights and wasn't shocked at the overall price tag. This store also caters to children, men and have a Sweet lingerie section. The employees were friendly, but seemed preoccupied at putting clothing away from previous shoppers. The line was strangely long for 12:30 afternoon on a weekday, but they opened up another line when they saw our faces. read more

The con - went in here today to shop for shorts and they were either missing clothes in my size or the selection of certain items were minimal. The lady who worked here told me they haven't been getting size 2s for a couple of months now... say wha? You're a retail store... how can you not get a shipment of one of the most demanded size for that long of a time period? One thing to know about H&M clothes is that they are of better quality compared to other clothing stores. Stylish, too (ok that's two things to know). Good prices and good quality! While the customer services is hit or miss depending on the time of day, some of the workers are very helpful. I wanted this new skirt that was just launched Thursday from an H&M collaboration with Elle except all the sizes they had in store where too big (smallest was either an 8 or 10), checked the size the mannequin had on and it was just what I was looking for. One sales associate said they could check another store for me but the other stores sold out of the skirt already. I then checked the size the mannequin was wearing and had the sales associate ask a manager about taking the skirt off. The manager said she could hold it and call me when they take it down after closing hours since it was on the mannequin at the very front of the store. I adore this store. It is full of fashion forward everything for men, women and children. The prices are very good. The quality of the product for the price is pretty good. It won't last forever, but you don't go to H&M for the classic staples that will last you ten years. You go for the super fashionable pieces that are not over priced. Keep in mind this store is not for the full figured. If you do not fit into an average size there is a good chance that no clothes will fit you here. Simple fact. I am mad for the accessories here. Great clothes. I just need to make money and empty out my closet of old clothes. Good amount of employees when I shopped, but none of them care to ask if I need help to look for something even when I am right next to them or walk right pass one. It took me a while to look for it, but I eventually found what I was looking for. One thing they should fix is the line to the register, there is none. You have to look and guess or ask if the other person near the register is in line, then turns out he or she is just looking at the merchandise next to the register. read more
