Love HT! This is my go-to place for pop culture stuff, especially shirts and jewelry. They also have purses, hats, vinyl, Funko figures, etc. Some of the pieces I get the most compliments on came from Hot Topic. Things like Coraline, Ghost, and Deadpool. They have a great rewards program, even giving you a $5 reward for your birthday. I just got $23 worth of merchandise for $2 because the clearance was Buy 1, Get 2 free, and I had a $5 reward to spend. Love this store, the staff is always welcoming and happy and music fill the store as you enter. Usually there is some sort of sale happening whether it is BOGO, 40% off or something you can always find great deals. The store sometimes feels a bit cramped they have so much but it is pretty well organized and they have a good variety of everything from band tee's to something featuring your favorite movie. This review is simply based on my experience ordering online for in-store pickup. As father to a tweenage daughter, I have been doing A LOT of online shopping for clothes. As things have gotten safer, we have ventured to the (outdoor) malls, but selections are limited in stores and she still finds it easier to shop and order online thankfully. Anywho, my daughter just had to have two shirts from Hot Topic, which was not enough to qualify for free shipping to our home. Thankfully, we could ship these items to our local store for pickup. After a few days, our items shipped and arrived at Hot Topic in Westfield North County Fair, with emails sent out for each step (yay). The delivery confirmation email included instructions to pickup in store or via curbside pickup. I opted for curbside pickup since I have two kids in tow and do not feel comfortable bringing them indoors anywhere quite yet unless absolutely needed. I managed to find Curbside Pickup: Section C at the mall (near the Red Robin) then called the store during designated curbside pick up hours. A polite guy answered the phone, confirmed my name and order them came right out with a sealed package with my items. The emailed instructions were useful, but really could use a map to clearly show where to park for curbside. That's the only complaint I have. Extremely unprofessional store associate. First, instead of saying "I can help you in this side of the register" he says "over here." I let him know i would like to put $20 on a gift card and although I appreciate him informing me that it would be better if i did $25, I don't want $20. I try to pay with a large bill $100 and he says they don't have change. Doesn't offer any solution, but asks me if I would like to go break it elsewhere. I said thank you and left! This place is amazing. Every since Hot Topic got their little makeover a few years ago, the store is brighter and more people friendly. I came to this location yesterday cause I needed some items for a costume party that I am going to later this month. The people here are super friendly and nice. I was looking for some items for my costume and the people there were helping me looking for items that would go well with my costume. I like the people here and think they are nice. Back in the days when I was young and dinosaurs roamed the earth we had Gamma Gamma. That was the place to go to get your Morrissey t-shirts and black studded belts. Sadly, I suspect the target clientele was not the kind to keep them in business... I suspect their best customers robbed them blind. Now a days we have Hot Topics in every mall. Band t-shirts and pop culture galore. I find myself wandering in to shop for my kids every now and then but it's never anything to write home about. So tonight I wondered in right before closing time just to take a quick peek. Nothing special really. But tonight the staff was so over the top helpful and friendly I had to write a review. Even at closing time - the staff took the time to help me find the perfect items and sizes. There was a short wait to check out and they apologized. I was pleasantly shocked - it's the holiday shopping season and I expect to wait. These tattooed young punks were probably the most polite sales people I've had dealt with all years. My daughter was looking for suspenders and a t-shirt for school and this place certainly has a great selection. Most times, the clearance rack is full of cool things as well. The sales people look cool, act cool and are cool!!! This is the closest hot yopic to me so this is the store I go to when I have to make returns. I'm a size Xl-0x so I tend to buy online because I have more options. I came to this store a while back to return some jeans and BETH helped me with my return. I had misplaced the shipping label that was the receipt but had the order number. She didn't even try to help me and told me to call customer service and a very dismissive way. When she noticed that I was actual going to call customer service she started doing something on the computer and said she could do it with the order number. Today I came in to return 2 items and to make an exchange. The guy at the register reminded me that I would lose my haute cash if I returned those items but if I made an exchange I wouldn't lose them. He was really nice and wasn't making me feel bad for returning items so I decided to walk around and see if I wanted to exchange anything. I decided to try on a dress and the sales associate said he would get someone with keys. I was standing by the dressing room when Beth showed up in a very load tone asking who needs to use the dressing room. When she let me in she slammed the door. I was upset with her attitude so I didn't feel like buying anything so I went to the register to make my return. She asked me if I was going tO exchange anything other then the jacket I was already planning to to exchange and I said no and she visibly looked upset and annoyed. She asked me questions about my return in a very Loud condescending tone but then would cut me off if she didn't like my answer. I literally just said it doesn't fit or I changed my mind. I left extremely mad and upset that she was loud, rude, and disrespectful. As a plus size customer I am forced to buy on line an nd I do not mind because 90% of the time I love what I get on your website but when I do have to return something I do not feel I should be made to feel guilty or like I'm doing something wrong when BETH is there. As far as Hot Topics go, it's pretty small. They've still got tons of stuff, though. It's just crammed in fairly tight. Definitely not recommended you bring a stroller in here or any bulky bags. I typically visit Hot Topic for one kind of item, and that item is the Funko Pop. These little collectables often come with damaged boxes and paint-related errors on the figures themselves. It can be difficult trying to find the right, perfect piece. That's where this store's phenomenal rating comes into play. The employees here are outstanding. I can be in for up to an hour, and they never disappoint me with their patience. They're always willing to show me their entire inventory, and notify me when something I'm looking for arrives. Don't be intimidated by the heavy metal that they play there; the employees are as welcoming as can be. read more

This place is run terribly. No management or organization. Took my wife to the store for the release of some new avatar chase glow in the dark pop. Not only does the store NOT list how many they have available, they have a girl employee holding the door open blocking anyone from getting in. So there's a line out the door. How about you use a numbering system to have to give to guests standing outside instead of having everyone wait outside not knowing what the hell is going on? At least Gamestop knows to do that! Then one lady guest walks out saying "no more chases! Fyi" Thanks for wasting our time hot topic. The girl says they're not letting people in because there is only one person at the register? So knowing you have a new chase release you shortstaff your store and you skimp on the quantity you give each store? If it weren't for Funko, Hot Topic would've gone bankrupt. Ahhh good ole Hot Topic! I used to love this store when I was a wee tiny teeny-bopper. So since my daughter is very soon to cross the threshold from kid to teenager, I decided to check it out for some of her Xmas presents. We made great use of the holiday sales and found her a Bieber hoody for dirt cheap. We also bought her colored hair extensions, nail polish, more graphic tees and a couple of stickers and pins. Eventually, I took her to the store to see all the goodies for herself. She really liked it but also thought some of the items were really pricey. (She is the best bargain shopper.) I told her to wait for the sales. Sales are the keys to a shopper's paradise. The store is small and has lots of merchandise. Fortunately each employee was super great. They are really helpful. I went in for one thing maybe 8:30, 8:45 at night and one of the ladies who was working there had an attitude with me. I understand its close to closing but, I was in there for one thing and one thing only. And even when the same lady who had an attitude with me as soon as I walked in the door checked me out she still had an attitude.
