Little restaurant right off 17/92. Not too appealing from the outside neither on the inside, typical family dinner, but breakfast was good. Good old southern breakfast. Main dishes, 2 eggs any style, choice of home fries or grits, choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, biscuit or toast. Similar to a Dennys restaurant but, to me, better. It's a place where locals come from all ethnicities, love it. Many of the knew each other so it's was fun to watch and hear. My daughter ordered home fries with gravy.. a new to us, gravy was delicious and also a side of bacon.. nice and crispy. One thing that some people may not like is the fact that they don't add salt to anything including the hime fries but I personally like that I can control my salt intake. Overall, after a not so good visual impression, I really enjoy my breakfast. They also have omelettes, pancakes and French toast. I am definitely going to be back just for their grits. Yummy. Restaurant is small so by the time we left there was a line, so that is a good sign. I'm giving them 4 stars because the place needs a little bit of upgrading. read more

The only thing about this place is that it absolutely a hole-in-the-wall and compared to the place I went to across the street, leaps and bounds better. Service was good. So good!! I've been looking for a good and cheap breakfast place for the longest!!! I move to Sanford about a year ago from NY - where corner stores and breakfast spots are everywhere. I called in ask for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich - the made it right away had it ready when I walked in. The sandwich was delicious. They also had a bunch of other breakfast meals which included, Canadian bacon, eggs, toast, grits, biscuits and gravy - all for UNDER $5. if you want a good inexpensive breakfast. Cheese choices for omelettes only included American and Swiss. Omelettes were good but would have preferred cheddar cheese. I ordered grits. I'm not from the south and haven't had much experience with grits. I thought the grits were ok, but not best I've tried. Prices were very inexpensive. Breakfast for 3 with coffees came to under $22. As I said previously, this is very obviously a neighborhood diner. Locals coming in for takeout all through our meal. Today, not only was the waitress rude, showed no customer service, but she lied, became loud and belligerent in the presence of other customers. She initially became upset when questioned about the cost for a side of corn beef and grits. $7.60??? Really? Her reply, "I don't know why that's the price, I don't own the place." We needed a place to stop for lunch on our way back from the Sanford airport so I turned to yelpers as usual to pick a quick spot. From the reviews it sounded like a diner feel which was right up our alley for what we were hankering for. When we parked we just kinda sat and looked at each other like "maybe we could find another place??" But we were with our six month old and didn't wan't to have to drive around much longer looking for a place to stop. And by golly, yelp gave it 4 1/2 stars so I'm sure it's fine. Walking inside the ambience was definitely a dive diner feel but we were greeted with friendly waitresses who doted over baby all visit long. Coffee was nice and hot. Meals were quick and portions were great. My husband got the club sandwich which was stacked high but he wasn't all that excited about meat and processed cheese that was used. I would love to say I tried my friends omelet BUT I Jalapenos don't agree with me however he LOVED his omelet. The hash browns could have been a wee bit more crispy in his opinion. The Hungry Man was a hearty breakfast... 3 strips of bacon, 2 sausage patties and a piece of ham. My only complaint with the ham was that it was basically a slice of boiled ham that was cooked but it did have a nice flavor. The sausage and bacon we good. My eggs were perfectly cooked and the home fries were great. The star was that biscuit... Definitely from scratch and very good and I was given REAL butter for my biscuit. Like a phoenix rising from the flames...and an ode to pork chops. So, I was without my absolute favorite breakfast joint in the entire world for about 7 months. Seven months, people! I know, I know. I was inconsolable. It's a small, clean, family-run place that serves delicious, woefully under-priced diner food. They do a huge take out business, have breakfast specials daily until 11am, staff is efficient and cordial, their parking lot is rocks and dirt, it's tiny inside, but their brekkie is lovely. I always get the same thing. Every time. And I hate it when people do that. Scrambled eggs (you get two), rye toast (two slices, and it's always too under-toasted), home fries (usually over-cooked, but I like that), and two breaded, fried pork chops. You can opt to get just one pork chop, just like you can opt to have the pork chop grilled (meaning on the flat top-no grill marks), but I've had that once and preferred the crunchy, juicy, slightly greasy fried version, myself. Add a slight sprinkle of salt and perfection. No, I can't eat both chops at one sitting, but the price is so damn cheap (less than $7), that I cannot justify NOT getting two so I can have one to make a PCS (pork chop sandwich-duh) later. I ordered the western omelette with home fries along with a side of biscuit & gravy (sausage). My better half ordered a combo, 2 eggs, home fries, sausage and bacon. I had the waitress bring out the biscuit & gravy 1st so we could share it. It looked good at 1st but unfortunately it was like tasteless wall paper paste mixed with different chunks of left over sausages. (Scraps) Now my omelette was so, so. (kinda greasy) home fries done the southern way....fried, dry & hard. Doesn't anyone know how to do them up on a flat top grill. Now for her combo deal. She told me the eggs were ok and so was the bacon but the sausage and home fries, simply put, horrible. When the waitress came by she told her she couldn't eat the home fries because they were to hard and if it was possible to get some not so well done. The waitress immediately brought her some but insisted on taking the other home fries back. Now having been a General Manager in several restaurants a red flag immediately went off in my head....are they reusing food from plates. We found this place on Yelp after an airport mishap. It was one of the few places open super early for breakfast. The setting is a bit "hole in the wall", but don't let that put you off. My fiance and I were on our way to the sanford art festival but wanted to eat breakfast first. I read that this place looks deceiving on the outside but don't let that distract you from the amazing food and quick and good service. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. Seating is limited but there is seating at the bar. We got omelets and the serving size is great. We were so full. The home fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Wow.... talk about a fixed election... if you look at the overall ratings chart, h&m doesn't even get 50 % 5 stars,,,, but all the posts they show say how great a fixed rig... 2nd anyone that lives in town and knows h&m that if you have light skin you are sure not to win.... Select American Blacks , Spanish, and any Dark 3rd world citizens get special attention, called in seating and advanced ordering, order preference, reserved seating. They can say all they want but just visit, it's 7 to 1 dark .... if you are light skin your order serve time is twice as long as dark skin time,,, same with waitress table attendance, if light skin you see her 2x's once 2 get order and once 2 pay bill... they spend there time at the dark tables, waiting on them... the female owner and the rolly polly cook/waitress are drama queens making a ugly back stabbing atmosphere ,,, the food ? it's good the male owner runs a great kitchen, but is at the mercy of the females ... poor guy ... show the tons of negative reviews ... read more

Everytime i go here or call the staff is rude . Even if you call ahead of time the food is never done and you have to wait another 30 min. I just called about 10 min ago to give them a try after nor eating there for a year and when i called i asked if the B.L.T came with a side other then fries due to it being 8am. The older woman stated you want fries or not. How rude ! Well of course I went to the restaurant personally. They stated they were busy , mind you it wasn't many ppl there . The other older tall lay walked away. Then decided to come take my order . They never apologized even after i explained how customer service works.
