When the prepared Illinois unemployment return came back to me, it had the wrong date on it (3/31/2013). In addition to this, the firm accountant multiplied the gross wages by the wrong rate. The rate should have been the same as the last time this return was prepared for the quarter ending 12/31/2013. I felt that my $ 150 fee for two quarterly payroll returns should have been reduced by 10% for these errors. Akin Omotosho, the firm partner felt otherwise. He wanted to correct the mistake without reducing his firm's feel. My take was that I did not want to spend anymore time on this whole matter. By him making the correction, I would have to re-review the corrections to make sure they were done correctly. He fully encouraged me to next time do the form myself. Because of this, I am going to use another CPA/accounting firm that specializes in condo boards. This was a very maddening and frustrating experience.
