Brian did a good job coordinating the estimate and logistics, which included getting his crew and truck from south Sacramento to the Bay Area early enough to get packed, back to Rocklin, set up furniture in the apartment and drop off the equivalent of 12 large boxes at a storage facility, all by 7 pm. To do this, he recommended adding a 3rd person to the crew, which ended up being essential for success. On the day of the move, the crew left promptly at 7 am. They communicated on arrival at 9:15 when they departed, but traffic issues pushed the arrival to 10:15. They overcame this with the additional crew member, and were loaded up by 12:30 and on their way back to Rocklin. We found NO damage to any of the items. The entire move was well organized, with a crew that was polite, and personable. We heartily recommend this company.

This review is for the initial contact & estimate process…read more Great first conversation with Cheryl (hope I spelled that correctly) at the front office--she was a former Fortune 500 company IT project manager, and I could tell! Detail-oriented, explained the process fully and understandably. (We needed two phases of moving & storage--one to clear room to have a living estate sale and then stage & sell the house, and one to clear it out once sold so we could look for another.) She understood exactly what we needed and had experience with the same process. She set us up with Kiki to do an initial walk-through and give us an estimate for phase one. He was friendly and cordial (we hit it off due to our being fans of the same NFL team) and thorough. He made notes (by hand--old school!) of everything we needed to move & store. Within a couple days he sent a full and very detailed estimate. While we ended up going with someone else (due to reasons of logistics and convenience--we're moving out of state but found a company who could handle it end-to-end with the same trucks and people--it was a very tough decision!), I would not hesitate to call All-Star again for an estimate.

His initial quote was appealing, which prompted a home visit to assess what all was being moved and ensure he had the right number of staff/equipment. We ended up paying a little more than initially quoted, but given the amount of large items we had and distance, it was justified. The day of the move, Robert and his 3 staff arrived on time ready to work! We were thoroughly impressed with how the truck was packed, how quickly the guys worked, and worked well together. No major damages or broken items. The guys hauled ass in 105° weather and were all so kind, courteous, and professional. Robert was very communicative from the beginning to the end. My mother in law is 75 and recently developed health issues after a massive heart attack. I hired Precise and told my mother in law that we would take care of everything. An associate of Precise called my mother in law and proceeded to yell at her when she told him she didn't know the details of the move; as I was responsible for booking it. After raising his voice at her he proceeded to hang up in her face. I got the number and called back. I really needed to understand what type of person felt it was ok to disrespect a 75 year old woman The lack of professionalism and basic disdain this man has for customers speaks volumes. I was reasonable, I didn't raise my voice, and even cautioned him about talking to seniors who might be skeptical about giving info over the phone. He then asked 'do you want us to come out there or not?' At which point I told him I really didn't care for his attitude and I would prefer to hire one of his competitors. At that moment he hung up the phone. The rudeness and utter lack of manners in a customer facing role is inexcusable. I cancelled and contacted Quality Control movers. Within an hour their team called me back and were flexible, and courteous. Save your money for businesses that appreciate doing business with you.
