Went to this new HEB location on Bulverde Rd. in search of local Texas products to send to my brother in California. I found a clean store, friendly staff, and many great GO TEXAN items. Can't wait to try the BBQ drive through next time! BBQ restaurant was completely sold out and closed by 8 pm tonight - must be very popular! There is holiday catering available from the BBQ, so get your orders in! Good-sized "Texas Backyard" plant and garden area even had full size Christmas trees for sale. Nice assortment of healthy plants and yard art. This store is not in my neighborhood, but I will definitely go back to do more sleuthing and shopping! read more

We had to check out the BBQ at "True Texas BBQ" (inside HEB), and I must say the brisket was real tender and flavorful. The sides were real good and a big portion. I was disappointed that they did not have any unsweet ice tea, I know most people prefer SWEET Tea but not me. read more

I sent my husband to pick up a loaf of bread from our local HEB. When he got home I was shocked to see this tiny little mini loaf, but for the exact same price. The weight is 30% smaller than it was last week. Yes, prices have gone up with inflation, Ukraine, China, Covid... But seriously what other essential has gone up by that much? I love H.E.B. Grocery Store, I worked with a few for 15+ years but now they are so busy it usually takes a few hours to shop for food and with in the lines. This is the only reason I didn't give them 5 Stars, they are at least better than Walmart with 2 checkers or self checkout. Nice size store with good selection of products and fresh meat selections. Although the limited amount of handicap parking can be frustrating as it becomes overwhelmed by people using it as preferred parking spots even though they personally have no mobility related disabilities. read more

Lawd - why did I come on opening day? Ok I am pretty new to Texas, but I did not realize grand opening of a HEB is like black friday! It was crazy they even had people directing traffic in the parking lot which was packed. Had to circle around and around..... I think their idea of a BBQ drive thru is cool - that line is separate in the back corner, but I did not try it as a vegetarian. The inside of the store is really clean - better be on the first day! But I was expecting it to be more like the HEB Plus on 281.... it just seemed like a regular HEB to me. Nothing special about the layout or offerings. I'll probably come here for basic things since I HATE that stupid 281 turnaround, but otherwise I will be going to other locations. read more

This is my favorite H-E-B of all time! It's so clean, and always well-stocked, and well-lit, and the folks are so friendly! It's so easy to get to and there's tons of parking and it always smells like amazing BBQ outside. There is seriously nothing wrong and everything right about this store. read more

I used the Pharmacy for the first time here and Giovanni was an excellent first impression for this branch of HEB. He was who I spoke with on the phone before arriving and then that's who assisted me through the whole process when I did arrive. Great customer service. I didn't have to wait long at all. He was thorough and efficient and the Pharmacy area is clean. Great first encounter that's for sure. read more

Love the grocery store, but the True Texas BBQ is totally messed up. Hours say open till 9pm? BS. Went today at 7:30, waited in line that was within the restaurant 4min wait. They let 2 couples in behind us then closed, yep closed by 8 am hour early. People in line shut down one of two registers. Dah hello management! Finally got to register they are out of pull pork, and sausage. They had spare ribs and chicken. What the heck what kind of management runs out of main course meat during a grand opening. Well by the time this happens not enough time to head up the road for BBQ. It might be good, but it will be a cold day in July before I step in that restaurant again or at least until they get management who knows what they are doing. read more

This H-E-B is so pretty and clean. Parking isn't as horrible as the one on Nacogdoches & O'Conner, that location is a effing nightmare. Needless to say, the past couple of times I've gone, I've gotten prime parking. The aisle are bigger but the layout is kind of confusing (aren't all new H-E-B's confusing?) you still get the typical people who park their baskets in the middle of the aisle but nothing a loud sigh and annoyed look doesn't fix. (Moveeeeeeee peeeopleeee,pleasssseeee you don't own the aisle, be considerate of other individuals.) The employees are friendly, they usually are at H-E-B. Just scan my stuff and get me out of here kind of employees, those are the best kind. The only annoying thing is when they check coupons, when it doesn't go through, c'mon guys I'm not trying to scam you out of a $3 deodorant, let me leave! :/ read more

Love the new H-E-B. Great restaurant inside & Drive thru option, all the great food you need everyday. Curbside pickup is so easy and convenient. Love my H-E-B Wild Red Soda. The restrooms are clean and nicer than most commercial restrooms. Looks like gas station pumps are going to be here soon too. read more

I can't complain about how it's usually crowded since they employees are never taking too long to check out a customers products , besides this places it completely new so it's bound to draw crowds. The original bbq in the little store they have is so savory it just m e l t s in my mouth but it is quite pricey. The florist shop is quite pleasing to the eye I just wish the flowers were a bit more fragrant. The actual food products they sell in fresh produce are always fresh, I've always preferred H-E-B over walmart for fresh produce but the bulverde H-E-B meets my best expectation for the nicest products and welcoming staff. read more

I waited years for this H-E-B to open when I lived off of Bulverde/Classen and it's finally open! This is my new favorite location and I usually drive past 2 other H-E-Bs to get to this one. Highlights: - Very clean and new! - Parking lot is spacious and not an issue, unlike many other locations. - It has a drive-thru pharmacy. - The BBQ restaurant is really good! Great BBQ and brisket options for adults and kids, plus you can take home a growler of beer on tap. There is an option to order via the drive thru, which is something I wish was feasible at Oak's Crossing, H-E-B's other grocery restaurant option down the street. - The floral department at this location is better than other H-E-B locations. I always look at the flowers on the way out of the store to see if I want to bring any home, because they are always beautiful and fresh. - This location offers curbside delivery and home delivery. I have used the curbside delivery twice and have always had courteous, friendly service. Additionally, I think you can get free curbside delivery service up until the end of 2017 - so use it while you can. It was a great option right before Thanksgiving! Lowlights: - None so far! The management really knows how to stay involved in the departments as needed and the customer is well taken care of. This is the closest to my house and I have been shopping here for over three years and if there is a problem it is resolved immediately without a hassle. With so many moving parts something will go wrong now and then, but it never turns into a big hassle. I used to manage at Kroger's grocery stores and understand when a store is on its game. Brand new HEB!!! This place is amazing! It really has everything you can imagine. It has a large selection of produce on the far left when you walk inside. If you walk into the left entrance, you will find a wide array of fresh sushi rolls and $6 meals. These are not your usual $6 meals but include items like fresh salmon, steak, stuffed chicken breast, asparagus, green beans, mashed potatoes, etc.. Healthy $6 meals to take home and cook yourself. The sushi is my absolute favorite here and I didn't think I'd say that about a grocery store. It's always fresh and there are so many types to choose from along with poke bowls, shrimp rice paper rolls, and pot stickers. I also look for the non-sweetened sparkling waters when I head to this HEB. They usually carry the Dasani, the HEB brand, La Croix, and Ozark Springs sparkling waters. I have to admit that I stopped going to the HEB on O'Connor when this HEB opened. read more

This is my primary HEB and I loooooooove it so much! While it's not very large, it is very well-organized and clean and the staff here are so incredibly helpful and friendly. Their clearance section often has amazing stuff in it (but no, I'm not telling you where to find it because it's MINE!) and the sample stations are usually stocked and staffed by a friendly worker. Super special shout out to Mike in the main kitchen by produce - he's a sweetheart and will not only give you great tips for a delicious and easy meal and learn your wine preferences, but he's also a genuinely good person and knows personal details about all his regulars. Checkout is always expedient, even when they are packed, and I love the addition of the small self checkout area. This combined with the gas station that serves tacos and pizza as well as the bbq place make it a full service location. I also did a lot of Curbside orders as well as bulk flowers to DIY centerpieces for my wedding and all of those ordering and pickup processes were flawless... They even reserved several pounds of barbacoa for me for my day-after party when I called in a few days ahead. I can't say enough good things about this location! read more

Worst HEB ever. The shelves are never stocked and they don't carry half the items that most stores do. Never anyone around to ask questions.

I recently went to HEB on Friday November 20, 2020, it was late and this poor cashier was the only one working a register for some reason (besides the 15items or less line) but there was a long line and by the time we got up to pay he kept a smile on his face, I believe his name was Diego. I had the best customer service I've gotten and the store ever that night. Despite it being busy, he was quick, friendly and seemed to actually care about each customer. I have been so anxious for this H-E-B to open. We live about a mile from this location so it's sure to become our new location no doubt. The store is brand new so it's super clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. The produce is some of the best quality we've seen in any HEB location. However I took away 1 star because we tried the breakfast tacos at the restaurant inside and they were a joke. Literally the worst breakfast tacos I've ever had and not the quality I've come to expect from H-E-B. The brisket was good however the potatoes were cold and lacked any flavor at all and same for the chorizo. And they didn't provide any salsa which was quite confusing. Great store but so far can't say the same about the restaurant. read more

Not happy with the Wedding cake Department. I called the location on Bulverde and 1604 to schedule a cake tasting. They refused to make an appointment and even said they will not make a reservation because my wedding is to far away. When I went to the Bridal Extravaganza, the H-E-B booth did not mention any of this to me and told me to call and make an appointment. Definitely would not expect this poor service and unprofessionalism from H-E-B. I will not be spending my money here . read more

I am frequently stopped while shopping and asked if I need help by an associate- which I greatly appreciate since I usually have my infant with me. i would give 0 stars if i could!!!!!! i ordered tp because i actually needed it and this was last week so heb has had a week to fill my order and make sure at my allotted time i would be ok here is my responses because i was literally charged no refund!! laughed at and told oh well the bulverde and 1604 heb be careful i am beyond upset at what has happened! i have paid for 2 packs of toilet paper not running around like a crazy person ordered it last week gave 7 full days to fulfill this order!!!!! unacceptable to have being told we are out we dont have any we have not gotten any in! i know that is a lie. instead of saying oh whoops i will take your money and not refund it and cancel it at the last min, i actually need some i have two children at home and two adults still trying to be civilized human beings through this i ordered at the 1604 and bulverde location and i am appalled at being told whoops sorry we just are not getting enough and having the woman laugh!!! absolutely appalled!!!! why dont you fulfill the orders you have first before opening! that would be the right thing to do so that the people who are trying to follow rules trying to stay inside trying to not add to the madness!!! because now i have been laughed at put on hold for 10 min and then told whoops we are out i work in a customer service role myself and i would never in a million years ever treat a customer like that! i was an avid heb shopper and now i will make sure everyone knows just how little you care about your customers and how disrespectful your employees are caps yes because if i could yell i would! shame on you heb! read more

This is a newer of the HEB stores. It has the best produce I think. I also like how the cooks in the store offer samples and recopies.
