They alerted me to problems behind walls (poor insulation and general code violations.) that I didn't even know were there. They quickly folded those problems into the remodel and got them fixed without any interference with the original job scope. The craftsmanship was some of the best that I've seen. They also suggested ideas that we probably would not have thought of had they not brought it up. I am totally impressed with the work that they did in both the kitchen and bathrooms. Trust me, these guys are one of the best if not the best contractors in the Fairbanks area.

They scheduled my installation within days of my appliances arriving, responded very quickly, brought my new appliances to my home and hauled away my old appliances for me. They sent a crew of two younger guys who had no problems carrying, unpacking, positioning or installing all the stuff. They brought all the right tools for the job, were very knowledgeable about their work and were focused on getting it done correctly. They were conscientious and careful with all of my property and kept me engaged with any installation options as they came up. They cleaned up after themselves and left my kitchen cleaner then they found it! I would absolutely use these guys again! You should too.

The only reason SQC gets one star from me is because I cannot give them zero!…read more We used SQC to install a new roof on our house. They were the contractors for a certain home improvement store in our area. The job was done incorrectly and started failing within a few months - I should mention here that I was a roofer for several years, so I know what to look for. Perhaps I should have been more hawkish over them during the install, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I had about 7 other projects going at the same time. Besides, the client shouldn't have to look over the shoulder of a contractor. I called Sam a couple times (had to leave messages) to see if they wanted to come look at it with me before we went through the warranty process w/ the home improvement store. I did this because back when I was a contractor, I appreciated it when a client called me first when they had any issues, so I tried to offer him the same respect. This, however, was when he revealed his true nature. First off, he neglected to ever return any of the phone calls/messages. Within a few days I tried again, to no avail. An hour or so after trying, a friend suggested I use their cell phone. Wouldn't you know it, he immediately picked up! The moment he realized it was me, he got very angry and started blaming everyone else (we had other contractors at the house, but no one worked on the roof). If anyone reading this knows anything about shingle work, this part is especially for you - I tried to talk to him for about 15-20 minutes or so during the phone call (during which I was called an idiot and a liar). During this phone call, he said that you cannot patch a shingle roof without ripping everything up on a diagonal from the eve all the way up to wherever the repair needs to be done. I was so flabbergasted at this statement I didn't know what to say...that level of ignorance honestly surprised me. **If you don't know about laying shingles, you can YouTube "how to patch a shingle roof" and see what I'm talking about...there is absolutely no need to rip up everything! He was argumentative and hateful during this entire process, he never took responsibility, and he never even came out to look at what I was talking about. He actually refused to come out to our house, so the home improvement store had to figure out another way to settle the matter. I had to submit pictures and a video to them, but the home improvement store did what needed to be done, and resolved the matter to satisfaction. I have nothing negative to say about them. **They did this without the help of SQC, so even in the end SQC did not stand behind their work. I hope this helps someone. I have never written a yelp review before, and wouldn't here except I don't want other people to be taken advantage of by this "contractor".

We would not hesitate for a moment in recommending Ridge Construction. They have been a delight to…read morework with; they show close attention to detail, to explaining what they are doing and why, and to ensuring that the job is one that they (and we) can be proud of. There's never been any doubt that their core approach is to do a job right from the start. Given we are building a custom 2400 sq ft house, that has taken a lot of the stress out of our lives. Zaccai keeps his crews small - something he noted to us before we hired him. That means he gets to hire exactly who he wants for longer periods, rather than picking up whoever might be available on a given day to rush a job to completion. This shows in the quality of the work that has been done. It also shows in the people doing the work - they are respectful and happy to be on his job, always friendly and courteous, and take the time to tell us what they are doing, or how we can help. Zaccai himself is regularly on site, cranking out whatever needs doing. His work ethic and tenacity for getting things done with a smile are what you want to see on your job. He leads his crews by example. We sat down at the start of the process with Carrie and Zaccai to go over budget. They've kept to that budget, only deviating when there's been some other new options that could get things done either quicker or better. They've presented those options (whether it was a cost saving or an additional expense) to us as we've moved forward, so we felt in complete control of spending. Again, there's never been any doubt that they are trying to build our house right, without spending more than necessary to do so. We've had builders work for us before who said they could do things that it later turned out they couldn't. You'll not have that problem with Ridge Construction. They are good for their word and more. A friend recommended them to us and we now pass that recommendation on to all of you.

So many small items which I never would have thought of make it so nice to live in. He put a special outlet by the garage door for a boot drier, a sink in the garage, the freezer outlet is in the same circuit as the garage door opener so you know right away if it trips, I swear there is an extra heating loop by the toilet because that part of the floor is always warm. Just really nice well thought out things. Mike is a true professional craftsman and after living in my beautiful new home for a year now I can say his work holds up. There were a few items I didn't understand and when I called him he was super friendly and responsive on helping me figure out the problem. 10/10 would call for construction projects. When I didn't know exactly what I wanted, he helped me with design & accompanied me to the tile store. He didn't attempt to influence my choices, simply took it from there to figure out the rest. He ran all the errands, delivered the tiles & all other related materials ( grout, paint, etc ). He gave us a timeline; started & finished on schedule. I wanted the tub removed, with a floor almost flush with the floor of the BR to accommodate movement, maybe even a wheelchair as we age. This involved some drainage sculpting that he was able to do beautifully. The heavy 12" tiles are secure & I love the smaller tiles of the floor that allow for a very subtle curve for drainage. The design of the horizontal tiles of the walls, diagonal of the floor is eye pleasing. Mike's skill & integrity makes him a craftsman I'd recommend for any remodel.

Wall and floor tiles are crooked and poorly grouted, electrics short, medicine cabinet fell off the wall, multiple leaks developed, floor wobbles, fixtures fall off, etc. My bathroom came out looking like a half assed rushed job with a $15,000 price tag. I stayed out of the house, was very flexible and made few demands. Later his partner admitted they had another, higher paying project and rushed to finish mine!? Wes wasn't responsive to feedback and promptly blocked me on social media after completion. His partner promised to redo some of the blunders, but never showed up after five days of promising. It's as once Wes got my money, my "small project" became a nuisance to him. I don't understand how anyone can recommend this mess. See attached photos of Wes' work with additional comments.

He would not respond to calls or messages, and when he did it was only with excuses. They finally stated putting it back together, but didn't do anything we requested. They put in a shower instead of a bathtub, didn't do any of the requested colors or design. We finally fired them in May. Upon looking on how to move forward we found issue after issue, until we ripped the entire bathroom out. They didn't plumb the walls, so instead "fixed" it will additional thin set and tile pieces they had. We pulled all but one tile off the walls with our hands. These are 12x24 in tiles and my kids would have been badly injured had one fallen. The morter bed for the shower crumbled as we pulled it out, water barrier was installed behind cement board and they cut through a joist to install the drain of their choice for a shower, not the tub requested. The bathroom was never finished and has currently been demo to the studs to correctly install. He refused to return the funds remaining. If hired ensure you have more money to repair!
