We really liked the idea of utilizing recycled concrete as a building material, and though many other local companies offered this option, none we spoke to were confident that they could also incorporate brackets to attach our fence posts to, which THE WALL was able to, nor did they have the reputation of THE WALL. Rick came out promptly and gave a reasonable bid, and once our date came up in the waiting list George, our project foreman, came out and reviewed the project and the following week was out with a crew (we had a delay due. to the Thanksgiving holiday). The crew was great, did excellent work and worked quick! The project changed very slightly, reducing the amount of wall to be constructed, and THE WALL was quick to credit us the slight difference in cost. We are super happy with the results! We have had quite a few neighbors compliment the project results, one who was looking to build something similar who I recommended calling THE WALL to, and I highly recommend anyone looking to do a concrete driveway, retaining wall, or other similar project give them a call!

We used The Wall to make two small retaining walls in the spring of 2024. They used wire mesh,…read morefabric and metal poles seated deep into the ground as the wall. This is some new system of their's. The contract we signed called for them to use crushed rock to backfill and soil to cover the rock. They used, without our notification or consent, bags of light weight material like pumice or gypsum in plastic bags as the fill instead of rock. I uncovered these bags after they left the job site and, when questioned about the matter, they claimed this was all our wall needed. I should have made them dig up the bags of fill and made them use rock but they assured me it's how these things are done for small projects like ours. After the workers were made aware of our concern and discovery of the bags, they became quite hostile to us. The job site manager was especially rude and made disparaging remarks about previous work done around our place by another company. Now, 16months later, the wire mesh is bulging out excessively between the poles and the areas where they used the light weight bags has sunk down and is soft to walk on. I would not trust this company to perform the job as spelled out in their contract and, if things don't go well, expect hostility on their part.

Concrete patio was ok but not great. There is a brush mark that stands out as it was done in the…read moreopposite direction of the rest of the patio and there isn't enough sealant on it as when it rains there are visable marks that look like lightening strikes with black spots. It just about looks like where the concrete is going to eventually crack? It's been a couple months now but maybe it takes longer for that to go away? The patio roof is fine on the straight part, other than the sections are not even - couldn't put the skylight where we wanted because it wasn't 24 inches wide so the skylight wouldn't fit there. all of their crew did not know how to properly fit the 90 degree angle side to the straight side. one side of the angle was not attached properly, but the other side was done correctly. Looks like one of their guys knew what he was doing and how to use the connecting metal brackets but the guy on working the other side of the beam did not. Even though that section will eventually be covered up/closed off with a ceiling it looks unprofessional. Also, on the front facing side of the roof there was a board that stood up in the inside corner that would not allow the roof flashing to lay flat in the inside corner that would hinder the water flow that would be draining to the gutters that we had to fix.

I waited a few days and then contacted him. "Oh - family emergency, we will start next week." Next week comes by and still no one comes. I wait a few days again and contact him again. "Oh - I injured my foot - next week for sure." I wait for the next week and again no one shows up. I wait a few days and contact him. "Oh - my foot is still injured - but next week for sure." Guess what - he did not show up the next week and then just stopped responding to my texts. I understand that delays come up but why is it my responsibility to have to repeatedly contact him when no one shows up on the scheduled date again and again? If something comes up, LET ME KNOW! And if you don't want to do it, LET ME KNOW! After a month of having my texts ignored, we gave up on him and contracted with the city to do the repair.

We called them in after another local chimney company cancelled/failed to show up unprepared for three appointments. American Chimney was great not just by comparison but because they provided outstanding customer service and repairs on our 100+ year old chimney. Office management was organized and professional. All appointments happened as scheduled, were preceded with reminders, and followed-up with email check-ins or phone calls. Shawn took the time to sit down with me and explain all of my options. I had a lot of questions, and he answered them all. My family was committed to restoring our wood-burning fireplace, which had begun to crumble (pieces of brick and mortar were literally falling down the chimney). The chimney was also not properly drawing smoke. Shawn provided a thorough inspection and explained that our chimney failed inspection on multiple points. Necessary repairs would be costly, and he recommended a gas insert, which would be half the price of the repairs. Ultimately, we decided to pursue the wood-burning restoration, and Shawn helped us find the most affordable options. Michael from American Chimney was the tech and mortar man and he was fantastic. A total pro. Safe, clean, efficient. He does excellent work and goes the extra mile for his clients. I feel safe and sound now, and ready for winter. I feel I can recommend these folks for your chimney repairs without getting ripped off. They were not the cheapest bid, and far from the most expensive. I could tell right off the bat these were competent folks I was dealing with. My hunch turned out to be correct.

Vai came out and we decided to fill the cracks with epoxy, I mentioned at that time we'll see how it looks in a few months. Now I have more cracks on almost every square and steps. Emailed video, texted and tried calling 3 times and no call back or reply to email or reply to text. Would I use them again, No. Would I recommend them, No. Actually had a person walk by and asked who did the concrete and I didn't say who. Terrible customer service.
