Stopped in for lunch when I saw a Cuban flag flying just north of a strip club in the same shopping center as Bass Pro. Why not? It's an expansive place that doubles as a night club: murals of street scenes and 50's era cars, flashing lights, a dance floor, and a healthy fleet of tables for service. The staff was (almost excessively) nice, efficient as well. It was 2pm, so I pretty well had Little Havana to myself. Tropical beats played loud enough to hear but not loud enough to offend (and perhaps they were expecting an early crowd of the revelers as a full spectrum of lights flashed about the place), I was greeted and quickly seated. Blah, blah, blah...food. Quick lunch, I'm not eating carbs. Spotted the a la Carte portion of the menu in order to avoid rice and beans. Hello ropa vieja. Garlicy, rich, tender beef melded with some soft Cuban variety mirepoix and whatever spices make mojo mojo. Savory, pungent. It was fantastic. For $8 post-COVID, a damned fine deal. Also had a sausage of the a la carte: it was curiously sweet when I was expecting spicy. It almost had a barbacoa flair as opposed to the chorizo I was expecting. Not bad, not stellar; a change of pace that wasn't unappreciated. The ropa vieja was on par with some of the best I've had (but let's be honest, that's not a ton). It was less chunky (more uniform) in texture than I've had. The flavor was enough to induce saliva while I'm typing this. I'll have to wait to brave carbs again in order to try their Cuban sandwich, which is tempting to do, and soon.

We are from Florida and have been to Cuba 3 times, so we are delighted to have a Cuban restaurant in Memphis. And the food is fantastic, to boot. It is literally the best Cuban food I've had. The interior is cavernous, almost cafeteria looking, but the service is friendly and efficient. And the food. Seriously, oh my goodness! I had marinated garlic shrimp with black beans ( beyond delicious) and rice, and maduros. My husband had Chicharron de Pollo. We were both so amazed at the at the delicate balance of flavors, and at very reasonable prices. We hope someday to make it over for a dance night on their generously sized dance floor. This place is an amazing addition to the Memphis food scene. We will return soon & often.

This was a great spot to get my fix of authentic Cuban food. Reminded me of some of the family run places I would go to when visiting my family in Miami. The servers were courteous and the food came out fresh and hot in no time. I ordered the Lechon lunch special and few extra sides to try other items out - the tostones were a great texture and I would have served the black beans to my Cuban grandmother they were so flavorful! I will definitely be back again and bring my family next time!

We were looking for something different today for food and Yelp popped Havana Club up. Right off of I40, and the food was great! There was not a thing that was off. I'll go as far as saying the kids chicken nuggets were house made and my son loved them. Very clean, service was good, and a nice different selection of food compared to the normal in Memphis.

We came here tonight for dinner, we loved the ambiance, food and service. We ordered empanadas for appetizers, we shared two entries, which came with 3 sides each. Joe ordered the lachon (Cuban roasted pork) with rice and black beans, yuca. I had the pork ribs, with yuca, yellow rice with vegetables, and plantains for my three sides. They were both very good and everything was seasoned very well. For drinks, we had the guava and mamey smoothies. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, and we have leftovers for probably another 2 meals. We are definitely going back, and we will probably do some salsa dancing next time too.

Saw the sign and thought we would stop in .... One of the best decisions ever! This place is a great find! Service, thank you Vladimir, was excellent, food was authentic and delicious. Had their house margarita, yummy! ! The Tostones Rellenos and Cubano were just what the tastebuds wanted. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Bet this place is lively on Saturday night with the dancing. Definitely will be returning! Please give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

The energy in the place is infectious and it is the kind of restaurant you want to come back to again and again. I ordered the Wildfire Burger, and it is honestly one of the best burgers I have had. It is made with black angus beef, 44 Farms Philly Steak, queso, peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, and Pepper Jack, all served with hand cut fries. Every bite was bold, juicy, and packed with flavor. The hand cut fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned to match. We also shared the Hot Mama 12 inch pizza with a chicken substitute, and it was outstanding. Fresh herbs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red pepper flakes, basil, and local honey on a perfectly baked crust. The combination of heat and sweetness from the honey made it stand out from any pizza I have had recently. The menu here is creative and extensive, covering everything from shareables and salads to burgers, sandwiches, bowls, and saucer pies. There is truly something for everyone. The service was great and the whole experience felt well put together from start to finish. If you are looking for a fun night out with great food and a lively crowd, Flying Saucer is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

It was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dishes I've had there. The menu described it as chicken thigh, but it was clearly chicken breast. The dish lacked basic seasoning and flavor. There was very little salt, umami, or curry flavor. The rice was wet, overcooked, and mushy. Overall, the entire meal tasted like something taken from a grocery store freezer section and reheated. At this point, I would recommend sticking to the fries and the burgers, which remain the strongest items on the menu.
