We ate at Habanero's a few nights ago. The restaurant is clean but a little dated. I order the enchilada supreme. When it arrived, the plate was really hot but the food on the cold side. I had to send it back to get it warmer, which really impacts the meal. The food was just okay. The sauce had no flavor and was thick like it was sitting in the pot warming for a long time. In general, the dish had no flavor at all. I have to agree with Michael D's post. The food was filling, but that is all. The service was acceptable. As a chef, I would be embarrassed to serve this food because there are many problems with the preparation and service. It is almost like the cook does not care. I am from Arizona and I miss authentic, Sonoran Mexican food. This is the closest I have found, and they have the best salsa in the upstate, in my opinion. There salsa verde is the best I have found. The charred tomato and spicy tomato salsa are fantastic as well, though I am allergic and should not have had any! But I'll be fine. I highly recommend this place and will be bringing my husband, sisters, their husbands, and niece/nephew asap! PS: the chips are so good! read more

We ordered delivery to eat while watching Clemson vs. Iowa State play football. Shortly after my wife began eating her food she raised her fork to show me food hanging from her fork by a hair. I asked if she was going to be able to eat the chips, queso, and guac. She handed me a stale chip. Disappointed to say the least. I normally don't negatively review a place without making contact and seeing if they will make the situation right. In this case that would mean a refund for that part of our order. However, after 15 attempts to call the restaurant, all during advertised hours of business, and all unanswered, I wanted to make sure they know about this issue. read more

Pretty decent Mexican out in the middle of nowhere. Two sides, restaurant side and bar side. Nice outdoor seating area. We have been quite a few times and it never seems to disappoint. Margaritas are decent, server is always excellent. I really like the Carnitas Dinner. Fried pork with refried beans and rice. My wife gets the chicken quesadilla. The jalapeño margarita was very good. They have a long way to go for their food. I had chicken fajitas that were served on a not sizzling hot skillet. Barely any peppers, no red peppers and 2 little strips of tomato. The pico, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole that came with it was an amount acceptable for 1 tortilla but definitely not 3. The salsa had no flavor what so ever. The meal was bland in flavor, spice and seasoning. I don't like to do a bad review but in this case you really need to go elsewhere. read more

To be honest, this place seemed kinda sketchy when we first walked in. The place was empty other than 2 other tables, but we were seated immediately and given drinks. Ordered the cheese dip (kinda plain but very good) and guacamole (I recommend NOT getting a full lime- it was very lime-y). Our waiter was funny and we got plenty of refills of chips for our guac and queso, and got our food served pretty quickly. I HIGHLY recommend the ranch quesadillas! They were amazing! Great Northern Mexico cuisine! A wide variety of dishes and flavors. The guacamole sauce is made right at your table to taste. The music is traditional Northern Mexico and the entire restaurant is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. My family and friends are very particular about their dining experience and Habanero's met our expectations and more. We cannot recommend it enough.
