Finally!! The Monterey Peninsula area has a LEGIT Kebab spot. It's sad English Ales shut down at this location, but it's awesome it was replaced by somthing new and needed in the area. Comming from the D.C. area where authentic kebab shops are very common, it's so exciting to have this here. We stoped by for a quick dinner before my daughters music recital. For 50 dollars, we got 4 kebabs, a few in if rice, salad, picked, veggies, hummus and baba gagnooush. Every thing is clearly made from scratch. I felt like I was eating some ins food in their kitchen. The whole family loved it and we will def be back! I think it's important for people to know what type of resistant this is. My friend and I got there not long after it opened on a Monday about a week ago, so we were the only customers in there. Needless to say the service was good . Waitress was nice and friendly, and attentive. (I think she said her name was Rebecca when I asked her). We were starving so couldn't wait for the food to be on the table. My friend got the schwarma chicken wrap, she said it was tasty but very loose and the whole thing was falling apart. She could not pick it up. I got the chicken kabob plate. Came with the one kabob, rice, salad, hummus and pita bread. The chicken was good. And I ended up using the pita and making a small wrap with the hummus, chicken and rice. The rice was ok, the salad, was ok but dice up so small and kind of wet. One thing that kind of turned me off was the place looked a little dirty, and unkept, (for only being open for 3 months is what the waitress told us,) especially how dirty the doors to the bathroom were inside and out, and just over all did not give me the clean vibe. I will give it a second try, as we were so hungry I felt we would have liked and eatin anything. The best tasting thing on my plate was the hummus. Next time I will try something else. I was craving a kebab so much and decided it was time to try Habibi's Kabab. The service, ambiance, cleanliness, and entire energy of the restaurant was so hospitable. May, the owner, served us and we started with the falafel. It was crispy, warm, & fresh. Literal perfection. Then we ordered the combo kabab plate and wowwwww the amount of food you get is insane. My mom and I spit the plate and we're so full. The chicken and beef, rice, hummus, pita, & salad were all so fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered walnut and pistachio baklava afterwards and chatted with May. What a beautiful dinning experience! I will 10000% be returning back to try more of the menu. I'm sorry to say this because I was excited for this place to open but it was TERRIBLE. Couple of nights ago we picked up food to take home. First strike was the gyro meat is pre formed strips with fake grill marks that they just warm up. Second strike was the chicken and beef shawarma was old and completely dry and hard. So happy to see a new place in Marina where the brewery used to be. Came around 330 for a late lunch & was immediately greeted. Service was fast. We each ordered a shawarma wrap both "crispy" but when we got it, only one side was "crispy" I was expecting something like a chimichanga I guess. As a half Greek American, I love Mediterranean food and all its forms. Habibi's kebab is located where the English ales pub used to be. So I already had a good feeling about it because my husband and I spent many a day at the bar at the pub, just relaxing and talking to the other customers. It looks pretty much the same as it did before except for now it has a Mediterranean decor and feel to it. Simple decorations, but it doesn't overdo it either. There was only one other customer when we got there at noon. The waitress was amazing and provided really good service. My only recommendation is that she needs to try as many dishes on the menu as she can so she can be more knowledgeable. But that's not a complaint. It's just a recommendation. Understandable that they've only been open two months. A very nice large menu that focuses on all the best of Mediterranean food. The prices are amazing given what I've at other places in Marina. They have hot and cold fava beans, which is one of my very favorites and it was beautifully presented and had a great flavor. It's served with some fresh pita bread I meant to ask them if it was homemade or not, but I forgot. Also, the falafel balls were off the charts. They had a bed lettuce under them and maybe some tahini or tzatziki but order aside add-on of tzatziki and It will be perfect. The other thing was the beef wrap. It comes with a big generous spread of hummus and big chunks of beef. The beef was a little bit tough but the flavors were off the chart. They were like a marriage that had been made in heaven so yummy very light, but so savory. The wrap was sturdy enough to hold the sandwich throughout and then even after I let it sit a few hours and had it as leftovers. They bring you bottles of tahini and hot sauce. The tahini is great and you can squirt it on and get a nice runny drippy wrap and the hot sauce was perfect. It was a combination of spicy and savory flavors. If you're not a hot spicy person go easy, but I love it hot and spicy. Also the lemon mint tea again very very good. I've never seen it served anywhere else around the Monterey Peninsula. Baba Ganoshou delicious homemade with that robust eggplant, nutty flavor. Beef and lamb Shawarma wrap crispy a delight to bite into it and again those aromatic well married flavors were off the charts. I highly recommend this place. It's HALAL too. I saw that they have a belly dancing night, which would be a lot of fun. I grew up with belly dancing, my sister and best friend were belly dancers and I think that would be a blast to do. They played Arabic music which really helped with the ambience of the place and I had my feet tapping the whole time I was there. Best part ever though was the add-on I got of pomegranate molasses sauce was like bam zoom going to the moon. I've never seen it before. I never tasted it before and I'll never forget it now. I just wanted to like use it for a dipping sauce with my finger. It was great on my wrap. So for a really refreshing lunch or dinner where the prices aren't going to kill you -wraps for around $16 lentil soup was $5.99 drinks are 3 to 5 dollars. I would highly recommend this place. I saw they had beer. I don't know that they have any other types of alcohol. But the delicious food is really the focus. read more

This place is fantastic. We came to visit the coast from Lake Tahoe. And I can't say enough. We had 3 adults and 2 small children. We were accommodated all at the same table with room to spare. Everything we had was wonderful. We had a lamb wrap, beef and lamb wrap, then a beef wrap. Everything was cooked perfectly. Seasonings were perfect. We finished with a baklava (pistachio). First try at this new restaurant and really wanted to like it. The server was attentive and friendly, but everything we tasted was bland or just not tasty. Prices are a bit high at around $25 a plate. Lentil soup was watery and mostly tasted like cilantro since that was fresh on top. The hummus was my least favorite thing on the plate. It tasted weird. The rice was the best thing on the plate. I found the meats, chicken and beef to be dry and overdone. Had to add a lot of sauce to it. Pita was also a bit bland. I don't know if they are just not salting the food right or maybe it was an off day. It's just didn't mesh with my tastes. I wouldn't return. My son and I came for a dinner date and decided to try Habibi's Kabab after doing a Google search for Mediterranean food. We ordered a side of hummus, I got the gyro plate and he got the combo kabab plate (1 chicken kebab and 1 beef kebab). Hummus came out first and it was good but my son thought it was bland because he likes the strong taste of garlic hummus. The waitress then suggested to try the baba ghanoush and we were so happy because it was so full of flavor that we finished it. My gyro plate was average but my son's combo plate was huge. He said he liked the chicken better than the beef, but they were both good. I also had the lemon mint drink that was really good too. Delicious Halal, Mediterranean food. We ordered the grilled whole tilapia, kebabs, and gyro meals, and they tasted homemade with large portions for our family. Their baklava was also exceptional with the thickest pistachio layer I've ever had of a baklava. The best baklava I've ever had, and there's no turning back from this version. We ordered food to go so we weren't able to eat in. They were so grateful for all of our orders towards the end of the day that they gave us so many free pita bread. I normally would not respond again, but your response needs to be corrected because you are making a completely false accusation about me. My family and I do not sell meat or any food products. We were tourists looking for a Zabihah halal restaurant. That is it. I called and asked a very simple question: "Is your halal meat hand-slaughtered Zabihah or machine-slaughtered?" Your employee refused to acknowledge that machine-slaughtered halal meat exists and argued with me instead of simply answering the question. I then asked for the brand/supplier of the meat, because knowing the brand can tell a customer whether it is hand-slaughtered or machine-slaughtered. The entire conversation should have taken 30 seconds. Instead, your employee argued for several minutes and eventually hung up. Now, rather than addressing the fact that your staff could not answer a basic question about the meat you serve, you are claiming that I was trying to sell you a product. That is simply false and makes your response look extremely desperate. I had absolutely nothing to gain from this conversation. I was with my family, on vacation, trying to find somewhere we could eat. Thankfully, we found another restaurant that answered the same question within seconds and treated us respectfully. For anyone reading this: "Halal" on a menu does not necessarily mean Zabihah/hand-slaughtered halal. Many Muslims specifically require hand-slaughtered meat, which is why customers have every right to ask where the meat comes from and how it was slaughtered. Instead of accusing customers of trying to sell you something, I would suggest educating yourself and your staff about the different halal standards and being transparent about the meat you serve. I would never have written a second response if you had simply addressed my original concern. But accusing a customer of trying to sell you meat when they were clearly calling to find a restaurant to eat at is completely dishonest. After seeing the good reviews we were excited to try this place! We ordered take out, hummus, beef kebab wrap, chicken shawarma, and beef and lamb shawarma wrap. The hummus was the only good thing! Our food was cold and took 30 min to be ready, meat was super dry, old, and lacked salt, my wrap was so soggy it ripped in half and everything fell out. Habibi Kebab is one of those hidden gems you want to keep a secret but just can't stop talking about. This little hole in the wall is serving up some of the best food I've had in a long time. I ordered the chicken shawarma, za'atar fries, and a side of hummus -- and honestly everything was perfect. The hummus had just the right amount of tahini and olive oil -- it was smooth, rich, and fresh. You could tell it was made with care. The za'atar fries were something totally unique. I've never had fries like that before and honestly they were on point. A different experience for sure, but in the best way possible. The shawarma was absolutely fire. And let me tell you -- this thing was HUGE. I'm talking the size of a Chipotle burrito. Literally the biggest shawarma I've ever had in my life. The best part? There are no fillers. I was excited to try this place. Went on a Saturday afternoon, place was empty. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Ordered hummus, which doesn't come with any pita and was lacking in flavor. Ordered pita, 1 piece of pita for $2. Ordered the Mediterranean salad, which was described as cucumber, tomato, herbs, crispy pita chips $13. What came out was a small bowl of chopped tomatoes, spices and peppers. I thought it was part of the hummus order and the salad would come with the meal. Ordered the beef and lamb wrap with a side of Tzatziki sauce ($2) and pickles ($4). The wrap was decent, the Tzatziki came out in a tiny ramekin, the pickles in a tiny dish. When it came time to pay the bill I asked if the dish they brought out as the Mediterranean salad was a mistake as it wasn't as described nor did it look like it was worth $13. The server went back to the kitchen a few times and told us the chef said the description was a mistake. The server offered to charge us for something that was less expensive and went back to the kitchen again. The server said sorry, there is nothing we can do about the price. How is a tiny dish of tomatoes almost the same price as the wrap? I will never come to this place again. Went by for lunch and enjoyed a huge combo plate of Chicken and Beef Shawarma. It came with Basmati rice, salad and hummus. The portions were very large and we ended up taking half of our lunch home and enjoying the rest for dinner. The restaurant is a little hard to find the first time around, as it is in a small strip mall, so really look for the address sign on the left as you drive up Reindollar from Del Monte Ave. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant is clean and bright, the service excellent the music Arabic, and the food was typically Middle Eastern and very tasty. We will return for sure. read more

My husband and I are vegetarians and once in awhile we drive from Salinas all the way to San Jose to eat at Falafel Drive-in on Stevens Creek Blvd. It's a long way and their falafels are delicious. BUT NOW...we don't have drive there anymore because we have discovered THE BEST falafel wraps right here in Marina! The falafel wraps at Habibi's are sooooo good and super tasty. The vegetables are fresh and I love their tahini sauce. So authentic. What is also great about them is that they serve the perfect hot sauce. It is the same sauce they serve at Falafel Drive In. OMG! I can't tell you how delicious it is. I've been waiting a long time to find a place like this closer to home and I am so happy to have discovered it! You can tell the owners take pride in this restaurant because everything looks so clean, tables, chairs, floor, and bathroom too. From talking to the waitress we discovered that this is a family-owned restaurant. The husband and son do the cooking and the waitress is actually the wife and mother. She is super sweet and friendly and really knows the menu like the back of her hand. She provided us exceptional service as well. We will most definitely be going back to this restaurant. I really really wanted to love this place being that I am from the Fremont ca area. This is what I have been waiting for. The food is ok, I think that they just need to work out some kinks . I was really looking forward to some authentic bread, but that didn't happen. also, I got the beef and lamb plate it was seasoned with the same seasoning. if you really didn't know the difference between beef and lamb, we wouldn't know which one you were eating. We had the good fortune of stumbling upon Habibi's Kabob today. We ordered a family platter with lamb, beef, chicken, salad, pickled vegetables, grilled tomatoes, hummus, rice, and lovely little sides. Oh my gosh- everything was so homemade and made with love. The pistachio and walnut baklava were just the perfect balance of flaky and sweet - but not syrupy or soggy. Super fresh and highly addictive. The flavors reminded me of my grandfather's cooking. The spicing was delicate and perfect. Attention to detail. We had planned to have leftovers for tomorrow, but it was too good. Not much left. Unfortunately this was my first and last time trying this new restaurant. I asked the waitress if their gyros were on a spit. She said yes. I ordered a gyros with sauce on the side. What I got was 4 very thin pieces of meat that was browned in a fry pan. It was the same kind of meat you'd get in a "gyros kit" in the frozen section of a grocery store. It was just under $20 for a pita with lettuce, tomato and 4 very thin slices of meat. I can not recommend this new restaurant! It was gross!
