    Combo Kabab Plate
    Rebekah E.

I was craving a kebab so much and decided it was time to try Habibi's Kabab. The service, ambiance, cleanliness, and entire energy of the restaurant was so hospitable. May, the owner, served us and we started with the falafel. It was crispy, warm, & fresh. Literal perfection. Then we ordered the combo kabab plate and wowwwww the amount of food you get is insane. My mom and I spit the plate and we're so full. The chicken and beef, rice, hummus, pita, & salad were all so fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered walnut and pistachio baklava afterwards and chatted with May. What a beautiful dinning experience! I will 10000% be returning back to try more of the menu. It was so delicious and I can't recommend this place enough

I'm sorry to say this because I was excited for this place to open but it was TERRIBLE. Couple of nights ago we picked up food to take home. First strike was the gyro meat is pre formed strips with fake grill marks that they just warm up. Second strike was the chicken and beef shawarma was old and completely dry and hard. Third strike was the tzatziki sauce was spoiled!! Gross! Don't waste your money here, we have much better options in town

So happy to see a new place in Marina where the brewery used to be. Came around 330 for a late lunch & was immediately greeted. Service was fast. We each ordered a shawarma wrap both "crispy" but when we got it, only one side was "crispy" I was expecting something like a chimichanga I guess. Great flavors on both wraps. 1 beef/lamb & 1 flaffel. We ordered some flaffels to go. Definitely home made w/great flavor. Will be back to try other items on the menu!

As a half Greek American, I love Mediterranean food and all its forms. Habibi's kebab is located where the English ales pub used to be. So I already had a good feeling about it because my husband and I spent many a day at the bar at the pub, just relaxing and talking to the other customers. It looks pretty much the same as it did before except for now it has a Mediterranean decor and feel to it. Simple decorations, but it doesn't overdo it either. There was only one other customer when we got there at noon. The waitress was amazing and provided really good service. My only recommendation is that she needs to try as many dishes on the menu as she can so she can be more knowledgeable. But that's not a complaint. It's just a recommendation. Understandable that they've only been open two months. A very nice large menu that focuses on all the best of Mediterranean food. The prices are amazing given what I've at other places in Marina. They have hot and cold fava beans, which is one of my very favorites and it was beautifully presented and had a great flavor. It's served with some fresh pita bread I meant to ask them if it was homemade or not, but I forgot. Also, the falafel balls were off the charts. They had a bed lettuce under them and maybe some tahini or tzatziki but order aside add-on of tzatziki and It will be perfect. The other thing was the beef wrap. It comes with a big generous spread of hummus and big chunks of beef. The beef was a little bit tough but the flavors were off the chart. They were like a marriage that had been made in heaven so yummy very light, but so savory. The wrap was sturdy enough to hold the sandwich throughout and then even after I let it sit a few hours and had it as leftovers. They bring you bottles of tahini and hot sauce. The tahini is great and you can squirt it on and get a nice runny drippy wrap and the hot sauce was perfect. It was a combination of spicy and savory flavors. If you're not a hot spicy person go easy, but I love it hot and spicy. Also the lemon mint tea again very very good. I've never seen it served anywhere else around the Monterey Peninsula. Baba Ganoshou delicious homemade with that robust eggplant, nutty flavor. Beef and lamb Shawarma wrap crispy a delight to bite into it and again those aromatic well married flavors were off the charts. I highly recommend this place. It's HALAL too. I saw that they have a belly dancing night, which would be a lot of fun. I grew up with belly dancing, my sister and best friend were belly dancers and I think that would be a blast to do. They played Arabic music which really helped with the ambience of the place and I had my feet tapping the whole time I was there. Best part ever though was the add-on I got of pomegranate molasses sauce was like bam zoom going to the moon. I've never seen it before. I never tasted it before and I'll never forget it now. I just wanted to like use it for a dipping sauce with my finger. It was great on my wrap. So for a really refreshing lunch or dinner where the prices aren't going to kill you -wraps for around $16 lentil soup was $5.99 drinks are 3 to 5 dollars. I would highly recommend this place. I saw they had beer. I don't know that they have any other types of alcohol. But the delicious food is really the focus.

    Lentil soup with cilantro

First try at this new restaurant and really wanted to like it. The server was attentive and friendly, but everything we tasted was bland or just not tasty. Prices are a bit high at around $25 a plate. Lentil soup was watery and mostly tasted like cilantro since that was fresh on top. The hummus was my least favorite thing on the plate. It tasted weird. The rice was the best thing on the plate. I found the meats, chicken and beef to be dry and overdone. Had to add a lot of sauce to it. Pita was also a bit bland. I don't know if they are just not salting the food right or maybe it was an off day. It's just didn't mesh with my tastes. I wouldn't return. I'm not sure how all these high star reviews found their way here. Maybe they stopped at the dispensary around the corner before eating here.

Baba Ghanouj is delicious but need to give 1 more free pita or naan refill

The good! - friendly service - huge menu selection - generous wrap filling, delicious authentic seasoning - beautiful job converting the bar Caveats: - the Baba Ghanouj is a large portion but you only get 1/2 naan, when we asked for an extra naan they brought 1 pita and charged $1.99 - Be prepared: $5.00 for soft drinks and 3% charge for using a credit card

The value proposition is unmatched in the area. Huge wrap filled with meat for $15-16, tasty as well. Very quick service. I recommend

A man behind the counter spoke loudly to her (and me?) saying the sandwich doesn't have lettuce. I don't know how they make their sandwiches; she just asked if a I wanted lettuce. He seemed very irritated about a few pieces of lettuce in the sandwich. He asked me did I order a classic? I pointed to the item on the menu and read what it said the ingredients consisted of. He loudly stated that's a classic! Okay. It's classic. Fine. He took over making the sandwich. The woman rang me up. I felt sorry for her, having to work for someone who behaves so aggressively to an employee and a customer. I paid and was happy to leave and will not be returning. I feel badly for the woman. It's possible she was a new employee and maybe not fully familiar with the menu. Nobody should have to endure that kind of treatment.

The restaurant is located on the lowest level of the Carmel Plaza, I really loved the location because there are plenty of places to park right around there. Between the two of us, we shared: - Miso cacio e pepe: we came specifically for this! It's one of their most well known dishes, and I highly highly recommend! So creamy and savory, and the mafaldine pasta has such a nice texture, the ruffled edges hold on to sauce perfectly. We also added a bit of gochujang that came with the bibimbap and it was so good with some spice. - Dolsot bibimbap: my husband's favorite Korean dish so of course we had to get it! An excellent variety of veggies, which was nice since we barely got any veg on vacation. The kalbi beef was so juicy and delicious, and not overcooked. - Matcha Tiramisu: absolute must get, so unique. The cake layers were soaked in matcha, and topped off with some fresh fruit. - Grapefruit sake spritz: I was on the fence between this cocktail and the yuzu champagne spritz. Our waitress said that the grapefruit spritz was much less sweet, and I am so glad I decided to go with that option! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, not overwhelming. Overall, my husband and I agreed that the matcha tiramisu was the best bite either of us had all weekend!

The dumplings tasted like the frozen ones you can find in-stores but the soup had really good flavor, just not sure if it's worth the price. If I could go back in time, I would just get a second order of tots instead of any entrees (it was that good). Also be careful of the dishes, the plates they give are all cracked and chipped to where it can come off on your food. They also gave us a free black sesame panna cotta for our anniversary so that was a really nice touch by the waitress. Friendly staff all around!
