I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich, which was listed on the menu as coming with a salad. The woman who took my order asked which meat I wanted? Um.....chicken. Then she asked if I wanted lettuce with it. Sure, okay. I've never ordered this sandwich before and thought I would try something different. She asked which two sides did I want with it. I told her the menu board said it came with salad. It sounded like she thought I was ordering a shawarma plate, which maybe does come with sides dishes. A man behind the counter spoke loudly to her (and me?) saying the sandwich doesn't have lettuce. I don't know how they make their sandwiches; she just asked if a I wanted lettuce. He seemed very irritated about a few pieces of lettuce in the sandwich. He asked me did I order a classic? I pointed to the item on the menu and read what it said the ingredients consisted of. He loudly stated that's a classic! Okay. It's classic. Fine. He took over making the sandwich. The woman rang me up. I felt sorry for her, having to work for someone who behaves so aggressively to an employee and a customer. I paid and was happy to leave and will not be returning. I feel badly for the woman. After my first visit , I have been here twice and both the time the servers were rude. Food quality is same but they are not the only Mediterranean place in the city and I believe servers should not be rude for whatever reasons . I ordered two mini Mediterranean plates off of the kids menu. The gal behind the counter took out two containers and started to make the order. She added rice, salad, and then automatically started adding meat to the plate. I was confused because I wasn't even asked what protein I wanted. I stopped her and said, "I'm sorry, I wanted mini Mediterranean plates with falafel, no meat." She immediately got irritated and said, "Well the mini plates come with only rice, hummus, and pita." WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED. She quickly closed up the containers and walked them to the back. Her coworker offered to remake our order, but the way I was treated left a bad taste in my mouth, so I said nevermind and left. Perfect spot to stop for a quick bite to eat. Decent prices and incredible portions! I had the Gyro Plate with hummus and a Greek salad. Unfortunately, I ate before I could even think about taking a picture. It was so good! At the end of my meal, I totally dropped my entire plate and drink on the ground making a huge mess! Whoops... however the lady was kind and assured me it was okay. I definitely cleaned up the most I could but I'm still sorry I made such a mess upon my departure. I actually can't remark on the food, because I didn't eat it. When I arrived today, I ordered a gyro wrap, customized with the veggies, cheese and sauce I wanted. The portion size was very large, like a big burrito. When the server rang it up, I provided my credit card, and the system kept churning. She apologized and said the internet had been working slow today. We tried multiple times over the course of ten minutes, with various cards and various methods (tap and inserting chip). She even asked if I had Zelle or ApplePay (I don't). Finally she called the manager and he or she said try one more time and if that didn't work, take down my info, presumably so they could enter it later. I told her I wasn't comfortable leaving my credit card number and she said I could leave my phone number and they would call and take the number. I decided that was not secure either, so I told her nicely that i preferred to just forget about the whole thing. So I left my big wrap on the counter and hope it doesn't go to waste. No offer to give it to me for free, so I assume their margins are very very slim. But not good to waste and see your customers leave with nothing either. read more

This place is such a gem. I have been a fan since 2018 and am glad that this Marina location had opened. It's located in a shopping plaza with lots of other wonderful businesses with easy to find parking. My go-to order is a half chicken shawarma& falafel wrap for a total of $16. You really pay for the quality ingredients, and they pack their wraps with so much food that I usually only eat half for lunch and save the other half for dinner! I'm not sure how I have not reviewed Dametra yet as it has become one of my favorite restaurants. Demetri's Greek salad dressing is the most amazing dressing I've ever had. The pairing of the feta with the salty and spicy dressing is absolutely phenomenal. I love the chicken kebabs and Gyros. The hummus is flavorful and perfectly presented. Overall, the ambience of the restaurant is quiet and soothing, I love going in sitting down and eating dinner. It's one of my favorite places to go in Marina. I've been a long time super fan of the owners of Dametra and their other ventures, TBH they work so incredibly hard it's pretty humbling !. anyhow, we never had reason to venture to their Marina location but with the storms knocking out most of the area it was time. A needed trip the new Trader Joe's and we figured a perfect excuse to get a Giro fix.. It's felt markably bigger than the Mundas location, staff were great, food fresh and tasty.. Food is mostly delicious. The only exceptions are the changes they've made over the last year or 2. The salad lettuce is now spring mix. Mine had a lot of slimy pieces. I like the old romaine or regular iceberg they use to serve. Additionally, they are only serving 1/2 a pita bread piece with your plate. I've only eaten here once. The other times were all to-go orders. Ordering has always been fast and painless. :) Love their food! It tastes fresh and healthy (I get the falafel plate or wrap or salad). But today things seem to have changed when we got food to go. I had asked my daughter to get my usual falafel salad and it came with barely any dressing! Of course my daughter doesn't know how much is enough and she relies on the people making the food to make it like they've always had. Inflation? I'd rather pay a few more cents than not be able to enjoy my $14 salad. Todays salad felt like eating just lettuce and falafel. Can't taste the dressing at all! Inside this Mediterranean restaurant, you can also purchase bottles of wine & liquor, and connected to the restaurant is a sports bar. There is a lovely outdoor seating area that has heaters at every table for those foggy Marina days. The bathrooms area very clean. They have high chairs for infants/toddlers. As for the food, I had the falafel, rice, hummus & babaganoush on a plate. I wasn't blown away with the meal. The falafel was overcooked and the babaganoush seemed like it sat out too long. We were on a business trip. Staying near by.... When we arrived it was already busy with Happy Hour. We were immediately seated in the back called The General (the bar in back of the restaurant). All the food was fresh and flavorful. The debate was on all the TVs, and plus it was Happy Hour so the place was loud and everyone was having a good time. Towards the end of our dinner, the owner shared a little about himself and his restaurant. It is obvious he is very proud, and cares about the quality which is produced at his restaurant. They offer the plate it, which is a rice plate, meat and two sides. A wrap, standard gyro wrap, and a salad. They have a good selection of sides and sauces to choose from. Generally the service is very good. There is always someone to greet you and start your order. The overall restaurant is average. There are seats inside including bar seating, as well as seats outside. There is some artwork which I believe is explains the name of the establishment, which I feel is a nice touch. Overall I would recommend to anyone that is in the area to make a stop. I believe they also have a sister restaurant in the new Marina shopping center as well read more
