I really wanted to try this place since I just moved to Morgan Hill but unfortunately, it lacked so much flavor!! The turmeric rice didn't even taste like turmeric and tasted soo burnt. My mother-in-law and husband couldn't even eat it, and they grew up eating shawarma. It did look amazing tho and had my mouth watering, but unfortunately, everything tasted bland and overcooked. I'll start with the positive: the food was good. Unfortunately, that's where the compliments end. I ordered two à la carte orders of lamb kebab skewers online. The menu photo clearly shows 4 skewers, each with 4 pieces of meat, so I reasonably expected the order to resemble what was pictured. After picking up my food and reaching my destination, I noticed I had only received one box. When I opened it, there weren't even any skewers inside, just eight pieces of lamb. I called thinking they had forgotten one of my orders, but I was told that both orders were in the box and that each $10 order is only one skewer with 4 pieces of lamb. If they want to charge $10 for 4 pieces of lamb, that's their choice. My issue is that the online menu gives customers a very different impression. Showing a photo of 4 full skewers without clearly stating that an order consists of only 1 skewer with 4 pieces of meat is extremely misleading. Also, if I ordered a skewers plate, I would get 2 Skewers with Rice, Tabbouleh Salad and Pita Bread for $20. So, I'm getting no sides for the same price? The food itself was good, but the online menu needs to accurately represent what customers are actually purchasing. read more

I love this place. The owners are very kind and always respectful. The food is delicious. If you love lentil soup, than you will love theirs. It is hearty and heart warming with a deep flavor. Their perfectly spiced pita chips go great with it! Perfect comfort food for a rainy day (or really any day). The restaurant is cafeteria style and has outdoor seating along Monterey Rd. There are lighted trees outside and that makes the evenings lovely to sit outside. I thoroughly enjoy this restaurant and feel it is an asset to Morgan Hill. Been a long time customer and this review is specifically for the newer management, which I had twice now. It seems they changed ownership in December in 2024 and I had Mr. Falafel in January. I noticed the food tasted different but it was still good. Fast forward to my recent doordash order (June 2025), my food tasted different and the falafel was bland, even with sauce. I ordered my usual shawarma plate and dozen falafels. The rice and meat was good, but I had some dry meat pieces that was tough. I was also disappointed that my tabbouleh salad was NOT fresh. I ordered my meal before 11AM, and the greens in the salad was yellow-green and on the drier side. I do want to try this place again, perhaps other items, but not until for awhile. read more

So to be fair to previous ownership,Mr Falafel was sold about a year ago. Previous owners were pretty good but any review prior to a year ago regarding food and customer service should be considered. To keep it short, here goes. Customer service is still pretty good. Tho i was overcharged, part of the blame goes to me but thats not really why im writing. Its the food. For a dining location like this, the food needs to be better. The Falafel has almost no flavor or spices. Its mostly bread. It's expensive for being that way. You hafta sit outside on monterey rd. I used to order two of these to get my fill but now im just not going to go anymore. Its really poor quality. Ive always gone to Falafel drive in and honestly they set the bar. Someone from this restaurant should go there and mimic what they do even tho Falfwl Drive In has seen some quality issues lately too. Its really that simple. Noone will and thats fine so ill just stop going but if you havent compared you should. Theres no contest. The lentils are good here tho. The guys are nice but the falafel sucks basically. Wanted something a little different today so I figured I'd give this place a try. Parking is scarce on the street however there's plenty of parking in the parking lot next to the restaurant. Outside in front they have some tables with shade. Walking in they had coffee available on a table for patrons. The person who took our order was super nice, he asked if this was our first time in? We said yes and he gave us each a cup of their lentil soup. "The soup is fantastic!!" I ordered the chicken Shawarma salad, pops ordered a beef Shawarma salad, and wifey had the special veggie wrap. After bringing out our order the guy that took our order brought us out samples of their falafel balls. And gave us lots of tahini, garlic butter, and mild hot sauce. "Service here is outstanding!!" They give you plenty of food but IMO it lacked salt and there was a ton of hummus on the plate which overwhelmed everything on the plate. The chicken was good "just way, way too much hummus. My family and I am from Chicago (just moved here!) and we're middle eastern, so we grew up with good middle eastern food! The service was great and the lentil soup samples were pretty good. The falafel was good as well. However, this was genuinely the worst middle eastern food we have ever eaten...the spices didn't quite blend well and there was too much cinnamon. On our way back to SF, we made a quick dinner stop at Mr. Falafel. The restaurant is small with limited seating, but it wasn't crowded when we arrived. After placing our order, we grabbed a seat outside. We tried the beef shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma plate. While the chicken plate was good, my favorite was the beef wrap. It was perfectly crispy and so good with their house garlic sauce. I wish we had ordered the chicken wrap instead of the plate! We were too full to try the falafels, but I definitely want to next time -- along with that chicken wrap! The Food and service were both AMAZING!! We went to this place after a really long and tiring shopping day, it was raining so we sat inside, it was a bit cramped but they welcomed with a complimentary Lentil soup and chips. Our hefty order was too much for two px but it still came real quick and fresh. I absolutely loved their mixed kebab platter and Crispy chicken. Everything tasted Authentic Jordanian! This is the text I sent the owners for my experience in 7/15 about my take out order experience at their store. I have had no response so I am putting this minus names on yelp. I am texting because I just had an experience at Mr.Falafel that I am really upset over today. I called in a phone order at 6:07pm. I got to your store at 6:15 and sat in the heat till 6:50pm as my order was not ready. People's orders were taken and completed in the time I sat and waited. I asked for a refund and then left. The girl said she gave my order to some one else. Great - then give me someone else's order too. Why do I have to wait that long in this heat and no communication and only when I spoke up as I saw another order being placed and filled while I am still sitting there. This is really unacceptable. I am so upset as how often do I order at ur store in a week? Ball was dropped and no explanation until I was upset. It was just an awful experience. read more

Just got food here 30 mins ago haven't been in years. Unfortunately, very little flavor if at all on the shawarma. The meat was very bland and veggies didn't taste fresh. The tzatziki sauce was like pure water. The guy taking my order not friendly at all. He also said he put the hot sauce in my bag and he did not (you know who I am sir) . Was finally able to go back after a baseball game in Gilroy! Service- still super friendly and helpful! Food- I was hoping to try their falafels pipping hot, but I think traffic from Gilroy to Morgan Hill did not cooperate with that wish! I tried one as soon as I picked up the food... still super crispy, but not hot at all. I also ordered a chicken swarma salad, two wraps, one chicken, one chicken and lamb/sirloin combo... these were kinda dry, but with hummus added, much better! The salad was pretty salty, I ate pita with it to mellow out the saltiness. While not the best meal as is... I could still tell everything was fresh, and with minor adjustments, quite tasty. Ok... if you read my earlier review, you'll know why I've been craving this spot. Yes, the baklava, oh their delicious homemade baklava! Well, PSA, they only have one tray a week of their house made baklava. The one tray goes quick, so they off set it with baklava from a local bakery. I unfortunately came when the house made baklava was already sold out, so had to settle for the bakery one. It's ok, but definitely not as good! A part of me wants to be selfish and not share, but.... I was told the weekly tray is made on Friday, and when it's sold out....you're sad, like me (so very sad!) I was told that it can sell out as quickly as the same day, or as long as Tuesday, but having it till Tuesday is pretty rare. Will need to look forward to my next trip out, and will have to definitely be more strategic on when I go!! read more

We've been going to Mr. Falafel for year pretty regularly so I was concerned when I heard there was a new owner. I grabbed some salads and dolmas tonight and was blown away by how good the food is! My honey said "this dolmos is kick a$$"! The new owners are very nice they gave me a falafel to try and some lentil soup. Both were fabulous. The bread and the hummus was delicious but the falafel I got was a vegetarian dish and I did not care for it. We came to Morgan hill for my son's soccer tournament and found this place on yelp. The food was delicious, the workers were so nice, it was my son's first time trying a shawarma and he didn't know the difference between a shawarma and a falafel and he asked for a falafel and then he saw that it was different than a shawarma, he then asked the worker the difference and he exchanged his falafel for a shawarma with no extra charge. When he was eating the shawarma the worker handed him an apple juice for free and wished him a good game. The place was really calm with a nice little space to eat outside! read more

Very disappointed in what this restaurant seems to think Mediterranean food is. Most of the dishes have too much lime taking away from the authenticity of the dishes. I ordered the following things to go and this what was wrong: the tabule portion was half filed and drenched in lime or something very tart. The greek salad is cut into giant pieces and again drenched in lime and has a weird taste. The chicken shawarma plate was not much better, the rice used is not the proper rice but tasted okay. This had a side of the tabule salad which again was, tart and soggy. Lastly the plate had peta bread which got soaked from the salad juices and because soggy and inedible. Nice gem in downtown Morgan Hill. Came for a late breakfast and got a chicken kabob wrap. It was very good and healthy option. The staff were very friendly and seemed like a small family owned business. Service was great. They gave us some lentil soup to try which was perfect for a cold morning. This is now my go to for Mediterranean food. I had the chicken shawarma plate and got a side of hummus, Taziki and dolma. I'm super picky about hummus, and Taziki, and I was extremely pleased with the flavor and freshness of both. The chicken Shawarma plate had fabulous complex flavors and the caramelization on the chicken and onions really took it up a notch. The dolma was also super fresh and bright with flavor. They also have a lentil soup that I sampled, which was out of this world. A hearty soup with beautiful spices, but not spicy. I would also like to add that the customer service was excellent. The owner was super nice and really listens to his customers. Also, the portion size was very generous. One plate was two meals for me. I'm looking forward to trying other menu items. read more
