Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. The service was a little slower than I like, but the service was good.

This place is great…read more I pulled into Marksville last Tuesday evening. It was my first visit and I was in town for work. Since it was dinner time, I searched Yelp for restaurants and discovered many are inside the casino and most were closed on Tuesdays. The few exceptions were fast food joints, several Mexican joints, and Habibis. I chose Habibis and liked it so much that I convinced my team to come back the next day for lunch. It is that good. For dinner, I had beef kabobs. They were among the best kabobs I have ever had. Tender pieces of beef flavored and cooked perfectly. Yes, please. For lunch, I had the combo shawarma and gyro plate. It was as good as the beef and among the best that I have ever had. Would I go back to Marksville just to eat here? Probably not, there is not much else to do in town if you don't enjoy casinos. Will I be back here to eat if I am in town for work? Hell yes. If you find yourself in Marksville, you should make sure and try Habibis.

The food at Habibis was the best I've had in Mansura, besides my family's home cooking! No matter…read morewhat you are in the mood for, they've got you covered: pasta, rice, pita. The lamb chops were cooked to the temperature I specified. The rice was deliciously cooked. The sauces and the homemade dressing were amazing. The only thing better was the hummus drizzled in oil and garnished with extra chickpeas. We had an intimate Sunday family lunch (aka large party), and the hostess and waitress provided excellent service. Photo Credits - E. Mullins

Never thought I would equate Middle Eastern cuisine with Baton Rouge. But it's a cuisine that…read morecomes to mind when I think of this city thanks to this spot along with the stellar reviews that accompany it. This is one of three Albasha locations in the southeast Louisiana area. Thank god this location is near our field office in Baton Rouge which is where I was assigned to in early October allowing me to dine at this spot for lunch. The dining area spacious with plenty of seating. It does get a lot of traffic during the weekday lunch hours; probably cause of the lunch specials that are offered which we took advantage of. The menu consists of your typical Mediterranean eats such as hummus, baba ganouj, stuffed grape leaves, spanakopita (spinach pie), chicken/beef schwarma, lamb shank, moussaka, and kabobs (just to name a few). Lunch specials involve plates which include a feta cheese salad, rice pilaf, and hummus that accompany the entrees. Ranging from $14-18, this is quite the steal, especially during times like these. The Lamb Shank lunch I ordered was delicious with plenty of food that I had to have a to-go box to bring the remainders with me. The chicken shwarma and vegetable platter were ordered by other parties who both loved them. And we also started with the fried cheese which is served in a bed of olive oil and spices with some cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives. Very tasty, especially with the vegetable garnishes. I need to get another assignment in Baton Rouge so I can come back here again!

Cafe Phoenicia is my go to Greek & Lebanese restaurant in Zachary! I've been coming here for years…read more I like that it's somewhat different than other similar types of restaurants, and that their dishes are consistently good. One of the first differences is that most dishes include a choice of salads. We are all familiar with the Feta Salad, and this is a good choice. However, this place has a Fatoush Salad option, that includes a topping of crispy pita croutons. This is my favorite option! Then we move along to the entrees. Surprisingly, they have a good variety of seafood offerings, which is a reasonable component of Greek cuisine. I like all of these! Then there are a variety of pasta dishes, all with a great Greek flavor. One delightful dish is the Stuffed Plate which includes a variety of stuffed vegetables, along with a salad! There are also great classic options like lamb shanks, shawarma, and gyros. The simple gyro sandwich is always a good option, and priced nicely. That's what I like about Cafe Phoenicia, no matter if you want the simple or the adventurous, they have something to satisfy you.

Zeus Cafe is the place if you want Greek and Lebanese food in Eunice. It is part of a local chain…read morethat also has locations in Lafayette. The Zeus location in Eunice is in suite besides a gas station/conscience store, of the side furthest from Laurel (US Hwy 190), so it may not be super obvious at first. The address of the place is 801-A Laurel which indicates its side suite status. On the positive side, this location has a large and easy to use drive-through on the north side of the building. This can be very handy. There is a small seating area inside, or one can use the drive through and take your meal to a small city park one block north of Zeus. This can be a good option to maintain social distancing. The menu includes familiar gyro and chicken shawarma based dishes, but there's also some falafel options. There are a variety of wraps, some which include tortillas rather than pitas. Two of these that I recommend are the Mediterranean Burrito and the Spicy Chicken. Both are deliciously different. One can make almost any wrap or sandwich a combo with feta salad, hummus, and a fountain drink to round out your meal. There are also a variety of whole-meal salads, including a Fattoosh Salad with crispy bread strips for extra crunch. The staff at Zeus is always friendly and helpful, and will be glad to help you get your garlic on. It's always good to have different ethnic food options, and Zeus conveniently offers that in Eunice.
