So my mother-in-law and I made the short sojourn to Shelbyville to check this out. And what we found were indeed some great prices if you took it all in. For example, you can find knickknacks for $12-$20. Rugs for $50-$500. Furniture pieces for $150+. And mixed in are some definite higher-priced pieces. One of the associates told us that the owner works directly with furniture manufacturers, and many of the pieces are from high-end brands -- you just wouldn't know it because the branding has been stripped. And the quality seemed to bear this out. There are several pieces that I'd love to have in my home and that look like they would last for decades. I ended up buying some ceramic peaches for my mantle and some orange dried pampas grass for a floral arrangement. I would definitely go back if I had a certain furniture need in mind. In the meantime, it's definitely a fun place to browse. Plus it's easy to get to right off I-64. Oh, and one more thing: It's right next to Jeptha Creed Distillery and Talon Winery. I am all about thrift shops, especially one whose proceeds go to the Animal Care Society, a non-kill/non-profit organization that gives second chances to Louisville animals in need. I wish that I had known about this wonderful shop when we adopted a puppy last year. There are so many items for pets in the shop, and most look brand new. We could have obtained our pup's collar, harness, food/water bowls, leash, and cute sweater here for less than half of what we paid retail!! In addition to pet-related items, there are household items, home decor items, linens, toys, books, clothing, shoes, jewelry, and much more. I'm certain that there would be new treasures to see with each visit due to continuing donations. The shop is clean, odor-free and well-organized. The lady who checked us out was so very kind and told us about their program that allows for a $5 off coupon after a certain amount of purchases. This thrift shop is a hidden gem and I will be donating my items here from now on, so that I can support the animals, and I know that I will be a frequent flyer perusing the goods for that item that I didn't know I needed!

After doing a little research to write this review, I learned what a great cause this place supports. Purr-fect Treasures is run entirely by volunteers, and every purchase goes to the Animal Protection Association, a no-kill cat rescue that provides medical care, fosters, and finds forever homes for abandoned and neglected cats. Shopping here means you're not just getting something special -- you're helping give these animals a second chance. I love looking at these things and thinking about where they came from, and perhaps purchasing some of them to give them a new home. Basically, I really love thrift stores. Purr-fect Treasures has a lot of junk to fondle. I could tell as soon as I stepped through the door. This is the best kind of thrift store: The kind that doesn't know its worth, and so has a lot of little treasures everywhere for low-low prices. Like the badminton set, featuring three dudes in various stages of undress on the box. Or the coffee mug with a photo of a resigned Bichon Frise, staring off into the distance like he's questioning his life choices. Or all of the awls behind the glass display case. Where can you even find an awl in 2025, never mind a display case of them? I ended up buying a Sublime sweatshirt that fits me sublimely. Funds raised from the thrift store go to the Animal Protection Association, which is a no-kill cat shelter in Jeffersonville.
