It took over the space vacated by the now bankrupt Steinmart. There is nothing fancy about this spot. It very much feels like a dumping site for furniture and is organized by type/room. It is a land of rejected, broken pieces. The signage attempts to excite you - 50% off or more - but then you flip the tag to find out it is still outrageously overpriced on top of being broken. The facility is large, and most workers were either at the front desk or helping people wedge items into their trucks. I appreciated watching the quiet nature of the staff today as a customer carried on a conversation with the customer service team via her cell phone. She was a lot to handle and you could tell they didn't want to escalate the situation. Apparently this spot has a following. Bring a large pocketbook ... and duct tape.

So my mother-in-law and I made the short sojourn to Shelbyville to check this out. And what we found were indeed some great prices if you took it all in. For example, you can find knickknacks for $12-$20. Rugs for $50-$500. Furniture pieces for $150+. And mixed in are some definite higher-priced pieces. One of the associates told us that the owner works directly with furniture manufacturers, and many of the pieces are from high-end brands -- you just wouldn't know it because the branding has been stripped. And the quality seemed to bear this out. There are several pieces that I'd love to have in my home and that look like they would last for decades. I ended up buying some ceramic peaches for my mantle and some orange dried pampas grass for a floral arrangement. I would definitely go back if I had a certain furniture need in mind. In the meantime, it's definitely a fun place to browse. Plus it's easy to get to right off I-64. Oh, and one more thing: It's right next to Jeptha Creed Distillery and Talon Winery. These locations Are plentiful in Louisville. This particular one is located in the hillview portion of Louisville just off Preston highway right before you get to the bullitt county line. Rather large location compared to other ones. I've been here several times over the years to do some bargain shopping or browsing. A lot of the items in these stores will give you nostalgic feels. My most recent visit was to help my father get a Mother's Day gift for my mom as he bought a rocking chair for there front porch and needed my vehicle to transport it. Overall all peddlers mall are cool to search through. Neat idea that evidently is successful as there are a whole bunch of locations in the Louisville area. I have a few family friends and relatives who have had booths at different locations over the years and they seemed to do well with it. So seems like a win win situation.
