Presentation of all the food is excellent. My daughter LOVES the bento box. She is the pickiest eater but she willingly eats at this place. So the vegetable wasabi fried rice is a definite MUST order! And so is the mushroom roll! My only request to the owners would be to have more vegetarian options available! I would love to have them create beautiful & fancy vegetarian rolls with lots of variety. Two stars for the lunch time bento box. While you get tons of decent food, it is not what I expected. When I order a bento box, I want a cute compartmentalized box. Instead, the food comes out on a large plate with a handful of items such as miso soup, salad, california roll, some vegetables, and some dumplings. They have a wide variety of choices and they also do dinner combos. Hachi is a breath of fresh air in an area (Chalfont) with plenty of "just okay" restaurants. Each time I come here the sushi is excellent, there is a commitment to presentation of all dishes and the decor is a nice modern contemporary. I took a stab at some non-sushi items and was not disappointed. The fried brussels sprouts were excellent; if you like them crispy like I do then you will love them. I also tried the seafood udon bowl which was absolutely beautiful. It was filling and tasty, the noodles were al dente and the seafood was plentiful. The broth could have been a bit more flavorful but all in all I couldn't complain much. Nice to have a place nearby that is dedicated to quality ingredients and presentation; it makes a difference! I've actually never written a review on Yelp before, but I feel compelled to for this place. I've eaten at countless sushi restaurants in my life - I've even traveled to Japan just to eat sushi. And this place is top quality. The quality of their rice and fish is amazing. The raw fish tastes very fresh. The portion size is generous. The service is great and the chefs give a good energy. This is how sushi is suppose to taste. And this is also on a MONDAY night - it's no wonder the restaurant was super busy on a Monday. If this quality is sustained, then my visits will be too :-) I highly recommend any salmon dishes or the spicy scallops roll. Great japanese cuisine. Our group has gotten a variety of items there (sushi, vegetarian sushi, hibachi dinner) all as take out, and it is always quite good. Many dinners have a tasty miso soup and salad with ginger dressing, so it's a good deal. We always get take out and their packaging is solid, even for very big orders. No matter which roll I've ordered, they've never been even slightly disappointing. They really put so much effort into their presentation, too. Some of my favorites are their oysters with jalapeños, the sticky ribs (omg), but a true must-have is their Kani Salad. I can't talk about it without craving it instantly. It's a very large portion, with a big helping of crab, and the perfect amount of crunch and heat! My kids are the pickiest eaters but they'll easily down their chicken wasabi fried rice in two seconds bc it's THAT good. Another staple is their chicken pad tai. They nailed it, of course! The food was good but the overall experience due to the front desk and waitresses was disappointing. Arrived 2 minutes late for our reservation and they were calling us while attempting to give away our reservation to a group as we walked in. We had a 5pm reservation and were told immediately and repeatedly that we needed to be done by 6:30. While this wouldn't be an issue if we knew ahead of time for a date night with just my wife and I. But we had the whole family including 2 children and my in-laws didn't know exactly what they wanted. We ate so fast we didn't get to enjoy the meal which was supposed to be a birthday celebration. I will not be going back. I will go to Vic's or Bluefin or somewhere else next time. I have never been so rushed for a meal even at some of the fine dining experiences around the US. read more

I am honestly still stunned by my experience last night, this place is not what it used to be. My husband and I went there for his 3rd annual birthday dinner at Hachi. Both of our previous experiences were stellar so we have high expectations. The night started off poorly when our waiter did not seem to know what he was talking about, and basically had to go to the kitchen multiple times to speak to the chef on my persistence after he made up answers and then admitted that he didn't really know. There was also waiter confusion, another waiter came by to take our order and then they both kept coming by. The sushi rolls came out soggy and falling apart. The entrees did not meet the descriptions listed in the menu, tasted terrible, and looked like take out from a Chinese restaurant. The best Sweet Potato Tempura Sushi I've ever had! The Asian Pear Salad is so flavorful and textured. It's something so simple that just lifts my flavor spirits every time I eat it.
