Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.

Our server was very friendly and (unprompted) comped our bread service after a lengthy delay. Once received, the bread was amazing and went nicely with my lettuce wedge salad. The entrees were excellent as well, with my wife loving her risotto and my steak frites being top notch with fork-tender beef and amazing truffle fries. The portions are generous so to-go bags are a common sight. Oak is not inexpensive, but clearly the value is there if you are looking for a proper steakhouse experience near Highlands.

The bread at the start was so fluffy and tasty. We started with the crispy Brussels spouts. My husband ordered the roasted prime rib and I ordered the salmon. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The bar service was slow--received cocktail after eating bread and salad. Did not care for Caesar salad--very large, hub and I both ate off it and still 1/3 left. The romaine was not cut up and was basically a whole head of romaine with dressing drizzled over. Hub had Shrimp Alfredo and enjoyed it. I had mushroom risotto and the mushrooms were a mix and some were hard to cut. It was just ok. I did not finish it. Dessert was creme brûlée with a mix of berries on top and it was delicious. The prices for steaks were very high and easily shareable. They are known for their steaks. I found it a bit off-putting that everything was described with over-the-top descriptions by the waitress. I saw tables that ordered steak be presented with a box to choose a steak knife. A tad on the pretentious side to my liking. You can be upscale without the fanfare.

Broccoli was excellent. I didn't like the flavor of the chicken Parmesan. One steak was cold and we returned it and got a second one that was 10 times better. Lobster was adequate. For one salad, they used dark green lettuce which had a more bitter taste (cost saving?) I prefer my lettuce a lighter green. The temperature of the restaurant has consistently been colder than I prefer, which also cools down the food quicker. Longhorn is based in the Atlanta area and I've noticed restaurants are better when they're closer to their headquarters which played into our decision making when we chose it. However, overall, reality did not meet expectations.

Our party of six couldn't have asked for a better evening. I have a very restricted diet due to allergens and almost never eat out because of it but our servers, Tony and Josiah, completely changed that for me. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe, thoughtful, and still absolutely delicious. That level of care and attention meant more than I can put into words. The steak was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. And the olive oil... I genuinely wanted to buy a bottle and take it home it was THAT good. Tony and Josiah didn't just provide great service they made the entire night feel easy, special, and memorable for everyone at the table. We felt genuinely taken care of from start to finish. Thank you for making a celebration like this possible for someone who usually has to sit those experiences out. We'll absolutely be back!! This place was one for the books !! :,)

Service was very good and our waiter kept us well attended. The starter of Italian bread and olive oil was fresh and very welcomed as we'd had a light lunch. Perusing the menu, the tagliatelle with wild boar sounded tempting, but when I heard the night's special of cavatelli bolognese I had to try it (the waiter added his approval). It was excellent, with the pasta cooked al dente and a nice, flavorful bolognese sauce; the portion was just right. My wife wasn't terribly hungry so she had a salad as an entree and really enjoyed it. She also tried the espresso martini and it was good though not memorable. Many of the menu prices were closer to what you'd find in a larger city but so was the quality of the food and experience. We will definitely have Ferraro's on our short list of restaurants for our next visit to Blue Ridge...definitely recommended.
