I enjoyed everything about this place and the experience. I was celebrating my anniversary and the staff made sure to congratulate us and gave us a free appetizer. The service was exceptional. Our entrees took a very long time to come out, so the assistant manager visited our table, apologized and asked us if she could give us anything. We appreciated the customer service but didn't request anything additional. The in-house Sourdough bread was very good. - B+ The Peach Burrata was really good, except for the peaches (but I am not a fan of peaches). I really enjoyed the flavor of the cheese and tomatoes. - A The Mushroom Risotto was bomb! Only thing I would change is add more mushrooms (but I am a super mushroom fan). - A+ Lastly, the Brussel Sprouts, they were seasoned perfectly and my partner stated they were the best he's ever had. - A+ Everything here is served in shareable portions. We traveled to Cornelia from Tiger for dinner on a Saturday night. We had a late evening reservation and arrived a few minutes early. Upon arrival, we were asked to take a seat in the waiting area while our table upstairs was being prepared. The restaurant is situated in an old bank which allows for unique aesthetics, such as vault doors leading into a hallway doubling as a wine cellar. We weren't famished due to the fact we ate a late and heavy lunch so we opted for a few appetizers and soups. We were a party of three and two of us enjoyed libations. The margarita was made to perfection and the Sauvignon Blanc was well received. We ordered the carpaccio to share as a starter. All of us ordered a bowl of shrimp and lobster bisque for our meals. One of us also ordered the chopped salad and another ordered the mussels. The carpaccio arrived and it was truly scrumptious. We had to request bread a couple of times and unfortunately it wasn't served hot. At one point we requested more and the accompanying oil was absent. While enjoying our carpaccio, one of the three soups arrived and we reminded them the soup was to be served as our entrées so they returned it to the kitchen. Fast forward to the moment when only two soups arrived. The other soup, salad, and mussels were all MIA. When we brought this to the server's attention, there was an apparent misunderstanding on his behalf. We were very specific in how we wanted our items to be brought out when we placed our orders. Needless to say, the salad was cancelled because eating a salad last isn't good for the soul. Not to mention, we were already in an awkward position with one of us not receiving any of their meal. We went on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. Booking on Open Table was excellent. We booked downstairs because it was more quiet and small than upstairs. We got there about half an hour early to have a drink at the bar. They told us that the bar downstairs was not open tonight (that's Saturday night remember) because of staffing. After a few minutes they cleared us to the bar upstairs. That was fine, the drinks were ok, and at our reservation time we were sent back downstairs. We were seated downstairs, which looked a little over half full, and then met our waiter. Again we learned something about understaffed, he's the only waiter downstairs, but there are other people who are bringing food or drinks as needed. OK. We eventually get around to ordering. Our waiter recited a list of off menu specials tonight. Megan ordered the scallop appetizer, a ribeye, and a side of creamed spinach. I ordered a ribeye with shrimp scampi and some creamed corn. Our dining companions ordered steaks and sides including onion rings. The scallops came out on a little charcoal grill. Our waiter poured some sauce on them and then we ate them. There were four scallops with grill ambiance for $35. Eventually our food came. My shrimp were in a kind of broth sauce which made everything soft. My steak may have been marbled but I would go more with fatty and gristly. And it had a flavor I didn't like. Megan liked her steak. The spinach was very good as was the corn. The onion rings were good but had an old oil aftertaste. There was a round of drinks, Megan had two because it was her birthday, and a bottle of wine. I had an iced tea because I was driving. The bill for four with tax and tip was a little over $600. I know this is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area so I was ok with the price going in. I expected the food and service would be better though. It took a while to order the wine. I was nearly done with my meal before I had a tea refill, and I got my tea when we sat down. read more

We went tonight to celebrate our 5th anniversary and were unfortunately disappointed. When we walked in, we were greeted by the host and he congratulated us on our anniversary. Our server, an older woman, brought our bread immediately which I liked, but it was cold to the touch. I didn't think it was anything crazy but my husband really liked it. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and the artichoke dip as starters. We asked if there was any ranch or some sort of aioli to dip our tomatoes in and our server just replied with "no". Not sure why she lied. Lol I read the menu shortly after to see a few dishes are served with garlic aioli. Luckily the tomatoes come with mustard sauce and it was great. After finishing our tomatoes, my husband asked about our dip that never came out and she said she'd "check on it", but we're pretty sure she just forgot about it. We were a little annoyed about it until she came back and said they'd be paying for it. We thanked her and when she brought it out a few minutes later, she said again that they would be paying for it (they didn't). I got the salmon and my husband got the pork chop. We also got the onion rings to share. Both meals were just fine in my opinion. They weren't very flavorful to me or worth their price. The onion rings, she did warn us, were just like donuts and tasted good but weren't the texture we would hope for. The service was ok. She didn't refill our drinks unless we asked her, she lied about them having dips for some reason, and didn't take off the artichoke dip after telling us twice she would. There's no reason for us to come back to this place and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this price point and for this quality of service. read more

Did not care for Caesar salad--very large, hub and I both ate off it and still 1/3 left. The romaine was not cut up and was basically a whole head of romaine with dressing drizzled over. Hub had Shrimp Alfredo and enjoyed it. I had mushroom risotto and the mushrooms were a mix and some were hard to cut. It was just ok. I did not finish it. Dessert was creme brûlée with a mix of berries on top and it was delicious. The prices for steaks were very high and easily shareable. They are known for their steaks. I found it a bit off-putting that everything was described with over-the-top descriptions by the waitress. I saw tables that ordered steak be presented with a box to choose a steak knife. What a hidden gem in NE Georgia! I'm from SoCal and have visited here twice now on work trips. The food is delicious, service is great and the atmosphere feels upscale yet is comfortable. I ordered the ribeye this time and it was tender and delicious. We also had the Mac n cheese, brûlée'd sweet potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. We live in Atlanta, and I'd have to say, I'd be hard pressed to find somewhere (even in Buckhead) that compares to this restaurant. The service is beyond reproach. Evan couldn't have been any better. He's Buckingham Palace quality in my books. The atmosphere is just stunning. I'm absolutely shocked that a restaurant of this quality can be found in Cornelia, GA. The food was outstanding! We sampled a few apps, sides, and oh my the steaks! The evening was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. That includes Europe. We spent a little over three hundred at this place. The only thing we liked was the mashed potatoes and the drinks. We ordered a shrimp Alfredo and the wagyu special rare. The steak was burnt, it wasn't a good sear...it was literally burnt and raw. My bf says oh it was "steakhouse rare" but I've been to a couple nice and expensive steak houses and the meat was never that raw. Like cold still on the inside.. anyway, would never pay that much for that steak. They said it was a rare cut and this and that but we would rate it maybe a 2/10 I got the shrimp Alfredo and it was extremely salty. Other than that it was delish. 4/10 because of how salty it was. Came for my sister-in-law's birthday and it was a neat take over of a vintage space! We were seated upstairs in one of the booths and it was decorated for Christmas with a large Christmas tree along the grand staircase with bobbles and bits a plenty. Food was well prepared and came hot to the table. For the price I felt the plating was a little lacking and there was only one real signature dessert and the rest were not as well attended to. My husband and I went Saturday January 10 with another couple for our anniversary. We were so impressed with the decor. I have wanted to go for a while after hearing about how cool it was. We drive 30 minutes from Gainesville. We were seated and after 15 minutes of being ignored, I let the hostess know that no one had stopped by so she went and got water while our men went to the bar and got drinks. The hostess said that would be best . Anyway, our server finally arrived and we let him know we had to get our own drinks. My friend told him it was our anniversary. I saw in another review that someone was offered a free appetizer for theirs. We were offered nothing. I had put on our open table reservation that it was an anniversary. I can live with that, but I cannot live with terrible service. After he walked away, I realized he didn't offer or bring bread as I watched other tables seated after us get their drinks, water bread etc. I watched our server seem to do very well with a couple and their young child - serving wine, talking, bringing bread and food. We were ignored. The hostess brought bread after I went up to her and requested it. Our server didn't bring drinks, bread or water. Not a good start. Made me feel trapped and irritated when supposed to be a fun night. We finally ordered and appetizers were brought out by someone else, of course and then I remembered I wanted a salad after we ordered the mains but we didn't see our sever for a long time so when I finally did, it was late in the game and came out with food. It was supposed to be the chopped salad but pieces were huge and couldn't eat easily so I sent it back after a couple of bites. Huge radishes etc. I saw another review about the ceaser having too big of lettuce to eat properly. Bottom line is food mostly good, ambience great and unique but after speaking with a friend who has tried it 4 times with bad service every time, we won't be returning. Such a shame because my friend let me know that she complained and obviously nothing has been done based on our experience. What a let down . I had such high hopes when we walked in. We wanted to ensure that our 10th anniversary was special in every way, and having been to Community twice before, we knew it would be worth the drive and that every moment would be special and everything we wanted for our celebration. Unfortunately, things were nothing that we anticipated, as this restaurant is a completely different experience now: a sincere let down where the price no longer aligns with the aesthetic, quality and preparation of food, service, and ambiance. We could tell there was definitely different energy when we arrived early for expertly crafted cocktails at the bar as we did each time before. The cocktails were average at best and served without warmth. Our special anniversary was acknowledged by the hostess when we checked in, but after that, no one else said anything about it being a very special night for us. Not even the server, which was a disappointment. Both of our previous visits were for our anniversary and a birthday, and both were celebrated throughout our evening by multiple staff. This time, just silence. We also noticed that the restaurant had hardly anyone dining throughout the evening, which was totally different from before. Next, the service was lacking, underwhelming, under-attentive. We noticed others getting their food before us, and timing seemed to be off. The food was the biggest shock and nothing like what it had been. Although solid, it was lackluster, portions were smaller and priced entirely too high for the size (especially sides and sauces). The quality of preparation has also gone down. Our filet was over (medium not med rare), our scallops were very under (a bit of a sear on one of them on one side). Although they were tasty, they were not of the quality we expect here from before. Two hours later, we left a little speechless that the investment did not come close to the experience. We are sad that the magic that once brought us here has gone. It feels like a shell of what it once was. We will not return. read more

This is my second review and still the same. Good but not amazing for the prices. My steak and Fritz were good. The steak was tender and flavorful. Fries were over seasoned and the ketchup was vingery. Like they were trying a little too hard to be bogie. My wife enjoyed the seafood. I have to admit, I'm a little cheap so $65 for a NY Strip served with no sides at all is a little hard for me. Just give me a baked potato or a side salad! Plan for $65 to $125 per person if you drink alcohol. With me being cheap, Drinking helped. I love the ambiance but it is loud and I struggled to hear. Last time we were right in front of the singer so conversation was minimal. The singer was excellent. The light is so dim and the menu on a beige background made it hard to read and I had to use my cell to read it. I felt better when I saw three other tables doing the same. If I were making 20k a month, had great hearing and wore night goggles, I would give it 5 stars. read more

I stumbled upon this through a search of pasta. I was almost certain that I would never find a place in the north Georgia area that would make hand made pasta. I am certainly glad I was wrong. This jewel modestly contains one of the better eats in the northeastern Georgia area. Started with an old fashioned. Two things that makes it a great one. A large singular ice cube. And Luxardo cherries. Not to mention a large array of bourbon choice to your liking. Moved to the Shrimp Alfredo, 4 large shrimp expertly cooked to its proper fineness ans tossed with the house made oasta. The Alfredo is a simple sauce adding to them the garlic. Great finesse. Topped everything off with the cake. I enjoyed it I thought the density would propped the apple flavor more front and center. But over all the cake did a great job of not being heavy and has a good balance topped off with cinnamon ice cream.
