Honestly, this is a pretty solid spot if you're craving some Japanese food! The menu is soo extensive, so all your bases are pretty covered, whether you want miso soup, steamed wontons, sushi, udon, etc. Not only that, but prices are pretty decent too, so you can eat your fill without breaking the bank. And just to note: not sure if it's just because we came with a big group, but 18% gratuity was already included in our checks, so be sure to check that before you pay.

Been wanting to try this spot for awhile. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. Quiet small place with friendly staff. Sushi was good and my coworker liked his hibachi. I will definitely try again as there were some more rolls I'd like to try

Great Ramen, but I forgot the name of this dish

For whatever reason I have not tried this using ninja as my sushi place in the area. My daughter picked this as it was more of a sushi place than a Japanese steakhouse and had what her kids liked. So we came here with seven of us got seated nearly immediately right around lunchtime on Monday Presidents' Day, and the service was impeccable !!! We got our drinks right away and ordered a couple of appetizers while we looked at the menu. We all found what we wanted place our orders got a couple of drinks and came out quick, our server was on top of us at all times, one of us had a Ramen bowl and the rest of his head sushi and the kids had chicken nuggets. The sushi was fresh, and very good, I shared a couple of roles, and each were equally good. The Ramen could've been spicier, but that was our decision. So next time we will order it spicier, but I just can't say enough about the service we got having kids And a highchair, let's say a high maintenance table, but we cleaned up our mess and we were sure to tip 30% as you should today for great service and food. Thanks for a great family meal. Highly recommend.!!!

Went here with a friend last week. Place was not very crowded for lunch. My girlfriend and I ordered the lunch special rolls. They didn't have iced tea, and the waitress seemed irritated that we even asked. We ordered out rolls and the soup and small salad came out. They were good. The rolls were just ok. Tiny amount of wasabi and 3 shreds of ginger. Was not impressed and the waitress hates her job and shows it to her customers. Will not be back. I will drive for better food and service.

Sushi very good. Calamari DISGUSTING! Way too much batter. See picture and note batter from one piece. Suspect frozen and came out greasy (oil not hot enough.

First time checking out Umami Tavern and went here with friends during lunch. We were seated promptly and the waitress was very nice, giving us extra time to look over the menu as it was our first time in. I ended up getting the salmon hibachi with double vegetables and my friends got the chicken tonkatsu bento box lunch. They ordered sweet tea to drink- one friend said it was undrinkably sweet but my other friend drank two glasses so take that as you will! Salmon Hibachi was very standard- tasted like all other Japanese steakhouse dinners. The double portion of veggies was decent and I enjoyed the ginger dressing it came with. Mushroom broth soup and salad come with it and were good. My friends' bento boxes were cute- love the container- it was a good price for the amount of food: rice option, meat option, one fried dumpling and one shumai dumpling, an entire California roll (not just like 2-3 pcs like some places) plus they also had miso soup and salad come with it. Both said it was really good- especially the fried rice. I need to come back and try the sushi for a more informed opinion, but definitely will come back.

First time I went there was at 3:09 PM and they adamantly refused to give me the lunch prices, so I got up and left. Second time I had Ramen, and my wife had 3 sushi rolls. They were all good but the Ramen had a bit too much broth and the egg was hard which I think was intentional but the taste was excellent. Service was quick and pleasant. Ambiance is clean and bright and comfortable.

We arrived at 6 pm on a Monday. The restaurant was 80% empty. We were seated quickly and soon after our drinks were served. Service was very good and food came out quickly. The beer was served cold and was refreshing. My guest had green tea that she enjoyed but the tea leafs needed to be strained. The mushroom soup was good but a bit salty. The salad was fresh and the dressing was delicious. The hibachi was served hot and was more than enough for me. The shrimp were pretty large and the chicken was bite sized. Plenty of vegetables and the fried rice was worth the additional 2.00. My partner asked for extra vegetables and no rice. Perfect for her. My bill was 58 plus tip. We will be back soon. When we were leaving we noticed it had gotten a lot busier. We are not big sushi eaters but it looked fresh and good for those that enjoy it.

Love what they have done with the place. They did a great job with renovations. Service is friendly and quick. Flavored sake is delicious! We tried the sashimi appetizer. It's a small portion, but very fresh. It made us decide on the chirashi don because we wanted more sashimi. That was delicious too, and definitely a larger size. I'm really excited to have this in our area and will definitely be back!

We have now tried this restaurant three times and our thoughts have stayed the same! The sushi is very good, hibachi could definitely use some extra seasoning, and the noodles are average! It's a great option and always quick compared to what was in this location previously!

I'd love to give them a 5/5 but it seemed some elements of hibachi were missing. Some theatrics missing.

One of the others ordered the shrimp and filet mignon. The filet Mignon came out cold and was tough. I ordered the chicken and fried rice and the fried rice tasted like it had spoiled fish or some VERY ODD flavor. I had two bites and that's all I could handle. My chicken was tough too. My wife got the steak and Chicken and only took about two bites as you can see from the attached photo. The server put in some effort but was lacking on getting drinks refilled. From the photo you can see that a full plate was left behind and a full bowl of rice. I won't be coming back to throw my money away for cold and horrible food. Just a point to ponder is I wouldn't even take the food home for the dogs, it's that bad. The place was not that busy when we were there.

Not only is the steak amazing but the sides are outstanding as well. It's hard to find both good meats and great sides, however Cotton Calf over delivered on both. We enjoyed the Pearberry which was light and delicious, as well as the Japanese Old Fashioned which my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Although the price for bacon seemed hefty, it's almost a slab instead of slice of bacon. It's a solid portion and very thick and deliciously coated in a sticky sweet sauce that we enjoyed. We were having a great time and were in great spirits but it took a turn once we were seated for the dining portion of the experience.. I think our experience came from the person manning the meats, who in our opinion doesn't know proper temp checks. We ordered multiple filets, ribeyes, and a tomahawk at our table of 5 and every single one was under. We asked for medium and medium rare throughout our table, but they all arrived severely underdone. The tomahawk was the biggest disappointment, when you pay a hefty price, you expect better results.. but it was raw, because rare doesn't even really describe it. We are not the type to make a fuss, so we just ate our steaks and asked for sauce to make them palatable. The flavor was there but it was very subtle, it could used a bit more seasoning. We relied heavily on the sides and our prior experience at the bar to keep spirits up. The reason this review isn't worse is because regardless of our dining experience, our bar experience was superior and I'd go back strictly for that. I would try it again to see if the cook has gotten better but not for a while.
