I visited this restaurant with a couple of friends. Ever since this place opened a little over a year ago, it has looked packed no matter the day of the week! Because they are only open for breakfast and lunch, friends who have been here told me you just have to go and brave the wait because "it's just that good!" I needed to find out for myself, so we decided to go on a Sunday for brunch. I think luck was on our side! We must have arrived right between the first and second brunch rushes because even though the hostess quoted a 15-20 minute wait, we were seated in just five minutes. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. We had only been sitting for a couple of minutes when our server came over to bring water and take our drink orders. She was super friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. For my meal, I ordered the Chile Relleno Corn Tamale. Wow! I love chile rellenos, and this was by far one of the best I've ever had. The sauce was amazing, and the dish itself was incredibly flavorful, leaving a subtle sweet and spicy kick after each bite. Second time here. Had a 11:30 AM reservation for 14. Arrived on time, but table was not ready, we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. But once seated, service was great and food came quickly. Definitely need to mop/tend to the bathroom more, and toilet paper dispenser empty. I had a taste for a chicken quesadilla, and I didn't see it on the menu, but they were able to make it for me and it came out steaming hot with a little side salad. read more

Came here for breakfast after a hike and loved this place. Food was great and the inside of the restaurant is really nice with a cool aesthetic. They have a relaxing outdoor seating area as well. Tried this breakfast spot after a tough walk up Tumamoc. The service here was 10/10 the staff was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the birria chilaquiles, and the portion was large, definitely easy to split if you wanted to. The food wasn't spicy, which was fine, but I personally enjoy a little heat. I asked the waitress if she could bring me a grilled serrano pepper, and without hesitation, she brought me two! I was so impressed she didn't even ask questions, just made it happen. I wish I would've remembered her name! I also ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was delicious ,smooth, perfectly sweetened, and refreshing after the hike. They offer coffee flights too, which I didn't get a chance to try this time, but I'm saving that for my next visit. The ambiance is really cute and aesthetic, too. Very cute restaurant, quick and friendly service! I came with a group of 11 (including me) and we got seated fairly quickly. It was around 10 am. Our waitress was very lovely! I ordered the Huevos Divorciados and they we pretty good! Both green and red sauce lacked a little bit of flavor but after some salt and cholula, it was delicious! The potatoes were nicely seasoned and the beans were great. To drink i got an iced chai latte ($6) with espresso (an extra $2) and it was not great.. it was an interesting flavor (one that i didn't enjoy) and for $8 i expected more. My coworker got the french toast and it was delicious! This spot just opened. It used to be a Molina's. They have done a fantastic job in redesigning the place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I had the chorizo and scrambled eggs. I enjoyed them. I also had a cafe olla, which was delicious, but did come out a little cool. Their menu has some really cool features, like a coffee flight. Absolutely delicious! I met some friends for breakfast and we were suprised and delighted. Looking at the exterior of this restaurant you might never expect how beautiful it is inside! Not that it's not nice outside, just kinda plain. Ambiance inside is wonderful. All of the food we ordered was amazing. We were celebrating a late Christmas and the hostess brought over a coat rack for us to hang our coats and bags on. How thoughtful! Friend and I wanted to try this place to see how it was. Walking in, the place is EXTREMELY noisy. Something needs to be done to the ceiling to abate the noise level. The place was crowded. We had a 10 minute wait to be seated. The server brought us menus and drinks once we were at a table. Friend ordered the Taco Dorados (beef/potatoes, rice); I ordered the Hacienda Platter (tamale, beans, beef machaca). Friend said the tacos were delicious; they looked to be fried which is the way we like them. The machaca was really good with plenty of onions. Friend rated this place 5 stars; I would rate it a 3, so a 4 wins. The reason for this rating is: 1, The noise. I had a headache within 5 minutes. 2. No complementary chips and salsa. In fact, there are no chips and salsa on the menu. 3. My beans were soup. Not one solid or partial bean in the very tiny bowl. Plus I had no spoon to eat them with, only a fork. 4. A very small plastic container with "salsa" sauce. I used that up in the first few bites. 5. The flour tortilla - there was one small flour tortilla wrapped in foil. 6. The tamale had no meat. I understand that can be a normal way to make and serve a tamale. I've never seen one before in Tucson. The masa was sweet and tasty though. 7. The server never came back to our table to see if everything was satisfactory. We didn't see the server until we were handed the bill. Maybe this food comes from a different part of Mexico? Not what we typically see in Tucson? Not sure. The main part of the meal was very good (machaca and tacos). The rest, not so much. If I go back, it'll be with different expectations. read more

The Enchiladas Poblanas are absolute perfection--smothered in a rich, velvety green cream sauce and served with fluffy rice, smooth beans, and a crisp salad. I am sooo happy we have this restaurant in my side of town now!! When we got to the restaurant, it was very busy but since we were just two of us, we got seated in about 15 mins. Host was welcoming and sweet, a perfect person to have as a first contact. I do need to mention their decor! It is so pretty! I have passed this place MANY times but I had no idea they had a terrace! They did such a good job with their interior. It feels warm, there are good amount of space in between tables, love having a sink outside of the bathroom ( as a person who ALWAYS washes my hands before eating) . The music they played was very nice as well and the volume was perfect. Last but not least, I absolutely loved their food. I ordered Chile Relleno with sweet corn tamale with Poblano sauce. I'm a sucker for shrimp culichi and the sauce tastes like that and it was delicious. They have good selection of coffee and if I was a coffee drinker, I would definitely order coffee flights. They looked so good. Next time I need to try their dessert!!! Our server was great. She was busy serving and being a barista but still provided excellent service. First off, this place is beautiful inside. The colors, different tiles and textures throughout make it a very comfortable and refreshing atmosphere. The music was good and not too loud. The waitresses had on matching shirts and jeans which I thought was cute. We weren't promptly greeted when we walked in but our server made up for it. We ordered pineapple mimosas and really liked how they came with a small personalized bottle of champagne and glass of juice. For entrees we had the hacienda platter and the chilaquiles divorciados. Both were good with some yummy flavors. The tamale in the hacienda platter was a little dry and adding salsa to it helped. The machaca was delicious! Where to start? I was with a friend, on the way back from shopping we thought we'd give it a try. We arrived around 1230 pm. The menu is hard to read. Black with a grey background. They do NOT serve wine or beer. Fountain drinks are $4. I decided to wash up first. How can I say this? The Men's bathroom urinal is too high and is not usable for people under 6 feet. The restaurant was about half full. Waitress brought us water and took our order. There are no chips or salsa. After a 1/2 hour wait our food finally arrived. The salad fork they gave us is too small to be practical. We're seniors and need something that is regular size not a salad fork. Finally dug into the food. The hollandaise was meh. It needed lemon. Thr potatoes were under cooked, and I sent them back. The refire was also undercooked, so I just put them aside. It was very noisy. 70 dB. About the same as a vacuum cleaner. Try having a conversation with that much background noise. The wait staff was great, which is why I gave them a 2 star rating instead of 1 star. We are hard pressed to return. read more

First time trying this place. The restaurant was full so we sat in the patio which was nice and cooled by a swamp cooler and misters. The waitress was attentive and even though the place was packed we got our food quickly. The chilaquiles sauce was tasty as were the beans and rice. Rick ordered them with birria and eggs and both were good. The avocado was fresh. The tacos had a nice crunch and are described as shredded beef with potatoes but should be potatoes with shredded beef. I love potatoes but unfortunately, these were bland and didn't even have salt. The tacos are fried shut so you can't put the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese in them so the plate is messy. Since the chilaquiles were good we will be back to try other items. The chile relleno was ok but here we make them with green chile not poblano it came with salad and rice. Rice had no flavor. Let me start by saying I'm a bigger critic of Mexican food over any other food only because to me, my mom's is always the best! It's been a long while since I've been to a Mexican restaurant in Tucson where I was so impressed with the food, that I was already trying to figure out when I would be there again. Not one item, any of us ordered was not exceptional ( not gonna lie though, they need to work on the rice and beans..they both lacked some flavor)! The tamale corn appetizer is a MUST! The tacos, the dessert. We had it all. But let me rave about the service a bit...we were celebrating my mom's 92nd birthday. Not only did they play "Las Mañanitas" over the sound system for her, they brought her a nice flan with a candle. It made her so emotional, she cried. The waitress was the most patient, kind and amazing server we experienced. We were there past closing, but she made us feel welcomed and never rushed to leave.
