Paco was our waiter. He was very polite and friendly. He always made sure our beverages were always full. He was very attentive to us. Our food was very delicious. It came out in a reasonable time. Taco Giro is a great place to eat at. The staff is amazing. To include the restroom were very clean.

This a 2nd time to a Taco Giro, local chain owned by brothers apparently, and it's was more impressive even than a yummy previous dinner in Vail. Prompt warmed chips with a runny salsa-like warm beana and delicious tomato salsa. Service was great, numerous waiters and manager stopped by to check in on taste and needs. Pleasant, clean, open plan Dining Room, updated decor, plenty of seating, 9 booths plus several tables, with a glassed-separated bar and several bar height tables, seats at the bar, basketball on single TV, and Mexican music playing throughout. The ladies bathroom--floor tiles, grout do look a lil grubby tho. Decided to share the Mixto Molcajete with Shrimp (6), thin steak strips, chicken (whole breast+) 2 large slices firm like Paneer, white cheese Panela? Perfect not slimy nopales, a sliced open jalapeno so easily de-seeds when cut, chambray green onions some had flower buds like ramps, my what a fantastic decision! Also a full dinner plate of rice and beans, lettuce, guac and 3 tortillas, it's masses of food, enough for 2 and we will have leftovers for another dinner. At the bottom of the fiery hot molcajete is a fire roasted brothy sauce that is mildly spicy. Steak could be left more rare bc it's so thin, will request next time, but great char flavor on meats and veggies. Damn, a far better and more interesting dish than our normal enchiladas suiza or Chile relleno though yummy too. Why it took a minute to coax the hubs to give something new a whirl, esp as he's such a grilled-Meat-only type of eater, seems so silly now?!! He dug this dish and we'll definitely order again! Stuffed and Thursday $1.99 Bottled Beers sent us on our merry way with a full to-go container for 2nds!

I really enjoyed my pina colada and shredded beef enchilada ... I also got a shrimp enchilada that had tiny pieces of shrimp - good but I'd rather have bigger or whole pieces. My friend had an excellent shredded beef taco salad. The frijoles and rice I had to take home because I was stuffed! And they did not disappoint the next day reheated and wrapped in a homemade tortilla. I also loved their bean salsa and regular salsa, which came with freshly grated tortilla chips. I'll be back to try their extensive drink menu!

The bill, Not too bad given the state of the economy. But the fountain drinks at $4.99 ea? Really?

So here we came for a late lunch yesterday, Thursday,12/28/2023. We were greeted by the nicest young lady and shown to a booth by the window near the front of the restaurant on the left, handed their large menus and asked for our drink requests. It was nice and comfortable inside and we enjoyed our booth. The soft lighting made it nice. The glasses and plates were all large and heavy. Not light weight cheap plastic stuff. We really liked that they use solid tableware. So you know those girls are carrying some heavy stuff when they bring it all out on one arm. That was until a noisy group of rather obnoxious women came in later and decided to make some scenes. What can you do? We thought we would just split a bowl of their Pozole and each get an entree. We asked our wonderful server if we could just split the bowl of Pozole (among other requests for more napkins, salsa, straws, refills. We were so needy) and she said yes. When it (the Pozole) was brought out, it was so much, I'm glad we decided to split it. It also came with a generous portion of cabbage, chopped onions, sliced raddish and lime on the side. The Pozole spicyness was evident just not as much as I would like. Also, when the expiditer brought it she didn't get the word about splitting it and we had to ask for anothor small bowl so we could. But the main bowl was so big, even when I filled up the small bowl with plenty of soup, it hadn't even made a dent in the original bowl. So most of it went into a take home containner and was finished off this afternoon. We also ordered some entrees. I had the #25 three taco combo and wifey got the chicken chimy with enchilada sauce. We were confused about that. On the menu is big picture with a lable saying Chimichangas but nothing on the actual menu listing the chimichangas with a price and options. I asked our server about that too. She looked and thought that was pretty interesting because we wanted to be sure wifey got the enchilada sauce on it and there was nothing to say that on the menu. The server said she was still really new but that she would be sure the sauce and stuff were there. When the plate came out, OMG, it was the biggest chimi I have ever seen and yes it was covered in the enchilada sauce along with sides of beans and rice. But it was huge and on a big heavy china plate. Which was all good! Then wifey cut into it and on the inside was a huge and packed amount of shredded white meat chicken. Just the white meat chicken. Just plain white meat shredded chicken. I had expected the inside to be a shredded chicken cooked up with a red sauce on the insided (chicken rojo, I think it is) but not just plain white meat. I know of one other place in Tucson that serves it this way and it's just not to my liking as I really like the chicken rojo you get other places. So for me it was rather bland. Wifey ate a little of it well laced with the sauce she could scoop up and the salsa we had on the table. The rest went home where she will mix it up with salsa we have at home and that will be good. As to my tacos. My plate came with three soft shredded beef tacos with sides of beans and rice. The tacos were each on two about 4-inch in diameter corn tortillas and filled with a healthy serving of shredded brisket. At least I think it was brisket, pretty sure it was brisket. On top of the brisket was a dark mildly spicy probably some kind of mexican sauce but it tasted like a mild bbq sauce to me. Whatever it was it was not (again) to my liking. There was nothing on the menu to warn me about what topping would be on the tacos. I was expected something like pico de gallo, onions, cylantro and maybe some limes to squeeze. But I ate them just the same. I was stuffed. The portion of meat was big. On a really positive note, the beans were really good and even better with some of the provided salsa dip. I just wasn't too crazy about those tacos and won't get them should we come back. Overall, it was nice to sit and have lunch here. Our server was really nice. I wish the food had been better but some of that had to do with what we ordered, I think. If we go back I will try more of the mariscos as those looked good so I have hight hopes. I will stay away from the basic tacos, chimis, enchiladas, etc., as we can get better elsewhere. It's just a different style here. I don't know where it comes from as I'm a long long time Tucson resident and I just don't know where the bland white meat only burros, etc., comes from. I don't recognize that as being traditional Tucson sonoran fare. If someone knows I'd like to hear about it. Like I said, I only know of one other place that does this and it's not for me. One other thing, and that's the cost of the soda fountain drink. A little flat anyway but at $4.99 each that is the most expensive I've seen in Tucson. Sure, I know the glass was tall and the glass was heavy but really, out of the fountain drink machine?

New taco shop with convenient drive through! Was a bit difficult to hear as the sound speaker was super quiet but that didn't stop me from ordering some tacos and Agua de Jamaica. The staff was incredible friendly. Agua de Jamaica was perfectly strong in flavor, yum. One of my favorite drink flavors to pair with tacos. The tacos were pretty good. Loved the Carne Asada tacos, had that savory flavor. The carnitas tacos were a bit dry on the other hand. Ceveche tostada was quite tasty and perfect for a different dish to pair with the tacos.

A diamond in the rough! Some of the best Mexican food I've had. Even amongst Tucson's 23 miles of the best Mexican food, Taco Giro stands a cut above the competition! Great place, I highly recommend.

Huge menu! Good service. Lots of food. Tried the ceviche. Smokey flavor. Different twist. Wanted to sample a taco. It was simple and good. Had a pork dish and it was good. Some of the meat was over cooked. The flavor was good tho. House margaritas, I could not drink it. I asked for a skinny and it was perfect. I will probably return. Not sure when. But probably.

Rice was dry, chicken taco was dry, tamale was undercooked and almost tasted like paste. Beans were good though.... service and atmosphere is nice. I am disappointed since this place was recommended by a local. Mi Nidito was much better in every way.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
