Its a good park IF you're responsible. Clean up after your dog. If you don't know where your pooped, just clean up whatever poop you find, but for goodness sake CLEAN UP SOMETHING. If you're one of those people that quietly says, "Stop fighting, Rover" & then walks away letting the fight continue, I'd avoid this park. There's a regular bunch of dog owners here who DO follow the rules & we WILL point out your irresponsibility. The big dog side can be dangerous for kids under 10 years old. I've been clobbered by two playing dogs (I'm 163 lbs; dogs were each about 70 lbs) & I hit the ground HARD. Limped for days. Please don't take the risk. Just don't bring little kids here. If you & your dog(s) are trained & listen, please come by because you are totally welcome. :) Why is it that little dog owners don't train their dogs?? I don't get it. I gave it a 4 because of the completely irresponsible dog owners who come here & ruin it for everyone.

After years of negotiating with the city and a lot of community fund raising and political wrangling. The dog park at Hacienda Park in Cameron Park has finally opened. Thanks to the folks behind EDDOG.org. What a beautiful place for "mans best friend" to play. Set among majestic oak trees this place is a wonderful testimony to community spirit and fortitude. This park will bring doggies and their owners many years of joy.

Great place to bring the pups. Shady in the summer keeps it cooler Only complaint leaves tend to build up and hide the small dog poop

I stopped by this park with my dog while in the Folsom area. I was looking for a dog park that I…read morecould let him run around in without getting too dirty, especially since it's been raining recently. This park is large and looks brand new, the playground supplies are modern and would appeal to many different age groups. There are also covered picnic tables, walking paths, and a small and large fenced in dog park. We parked in the large parking lot and headed straight to the large dog area of the dog park. It has a double gate which helps make sure none of the dogs get loose, and there are benches around the circumference including some covered for some shade. There is also a water station and dog bags and a garbage for waste. The dog park has wood chips all over it and is a bit hilly. The wood chip covering makes it harder to walk around, but does keep things from getting muddy even when it's raining. You'll want to watch your dogs closely because their poop could blend in with the brown chips and you'll want to find and pick it up so no one accidentally steps in it. My dog seemed to tire out faster than usual while we played catch, I think it was harder for him to run on the wood chips as well and I was a bit worried about him getting a splinter or a weird piece that might hurt his paws. Overall this was a very nice park that is well kept and next time I visit I'd like to explore the walking paths in the area.

The park has a parking lot, covered pavilion with picnic benches and BBQs, play area with two zip lines, dog park, one basketball court, two tennis courts, two volleyball courts, and a little league baseball field. But I noticed they don't have a lot of trees planted and the ones they do have are a puny. It will take several years for them to mature to provide shade. An important thing to note is that the basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts are by reservation. Reservations can be made online but cost money $$. 2 hours of volleyball cost $70 and 2 hours of tennis is $50 which is ridiculous! Sure folks can use the courts, without paying, until they're bumped out by someone showing up with a reservation. So this may cause some controversy. Plus good luck to you in using the courts. They've been busy nonstop since the park opened and there is no time limit for folks without reservations. They can bunker down all day long. There are no time limit restrictions. The volleyball courts are on astroturf. The baseball field has a caged bullpen right next to the dugouts. The dog park is fenced in with wood chips as ground cover, and separated by small and large dogs. There are ADA complaint paved walking paths around and within the park's perimeter. Along the path are doggie poop bags and recycle & trash cans making it very convenient to not be a litterbug.

This off leash area is fully fenced and double gated. Mature trees around and inside the fenced area. It's a single play area not split between larger and smaller dogs. It is clean, people seem to pick up after their pup, and the few times we've been here, it hasn't been crowded. Today, we brought our fur child and our fur grandchild to meet up with a friends fur child - they'll be spending some long hours together in the near future and need to get familiar with each others (butts) .. personalities. There were the three small dogs and then another few showed up .. all small dogs on this Sunday morning. One large lab appeared with his owner and small pup sibling. The surrounding park area (ball fields) are wide open spaces and if your pup is mindful and doesn't stray too far, you could have a full run of the park (but technically, that area is not off leash .. wink wink). Very happy with this off leash area.
