We ordered online and picked up. Ordering was very simple. You're allowed to make edits to your meal if you want to add or take away items. The order was ready in 30 minutes as promised. There was a huge parking lot. Dining inside and a few tables outside. The Decour inside is charming and looks to be authentic. When picking up the employees were friendly. Unfortunately, the food was a little bit of a letdown. After reading all the reviews, I thought I would be blown away. The food was just meh. We ordered a few different items to try a little bit of everything. Most of the food had little to no flavor. The steak and cheese quesadilla was good, not great. The beef chimichanga and enchilada were a little better than the street tacos and quesadilla. The sauce had good flavor. I'm glad I saved them for last. Will I come back? Not before trying other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

I have been here with friends in the past and liked thier food and atmosphere. I havent been here in about 6 months. They now have a very loud bar crowd . The bar is located a hallwall from the eating area. Everyone in the resturaant section was looking at the people in the bar with the loud voices and laughter. Secondly, the service was slow, the bartendar was our waiter and thirdly the steat fajitas was so over cooked and the meat was tough. I suggest they put a glass half wall up to ward off the loud noises, hire a waitress for nights and make the steak a little thicked so it doesnt over cook. Will not be back there at nights anymore! read more

We ordered takeout and, unfortunately, not all of the items we paid for were included in the order. The food we did receive was good, but missing items is disappointing, especially with takeout where you don't realize it until you're home. Also their portions are very small. So keep that in mind when placing orders and reviewing their prices. I hope they double-check orders more carefully in the future. We tried to call, but could not get through to talk to someone. To be honest Im not sure if this is a ghost kitchen or if they have a location where you can go dine in and eat. I found El Mexicano via GrubHub. For an appetizer I chose the salsa con queso with homemade tortilla chips. The queso was nice and warm with a mild kick. Im guessing street tacos are supposed to be small. The tortilla for the tacos where not grilled so that maybe how street tacos are also. The tacos had plenty of steak but lacking in the other toppings. Next time in the notes I will ask for my tortilla to be grilled. My fiancé had their Texas Chilli and LOVED it!!! I took a taste it was quite spicy with chunks of meat, beans, and cheese on top. The service was good and the food fresh. I wish they allowed you to choose spicy because it really lacked heat. Please make choices for people that want and can handle the spice. Forget hacienda this place has much better quality of ingredients and cobra margaritas are so good! Have not been disappointed yet. Pork belly taco was delicious along with many other dishes. If I'm being picky the Guacamole could be a little more portion size but otherwise it's good to save room for desserts here. read more

The quality of these tacos was very poor. I know what pork belly is and I've had it many times. This pork belly tastes rancid. The chicken tacos tasted like throw up after a long night on the town. Quite frankly, I'm astonished that there aren't more less then satisfied reviews. The waitress was very sweet, however the manager or owner was quite rude about the fact that we were displeased with our food. We decided to try this place out! We walked in and were the only patrons which quickly changed with four more tables worth of people coming in as we chowed down our appetizers. I ordered the spicy tamarind wings which I had asked to be extra well done (they were not) yet surprisingly had great flavor and didn't mind that they weren't as crispy as I usually like. Jo ordered the south of the border queso dip which I found to have a seasoning that overpowered the queso and therefore I was good with not having any more. For dinner we ordered one of each taco. The best by far to me were(in no sequential order of greatness) chicken Al pastor, mushroom, sweet plantain, pork belly, Baja fish and chorizo. The two I would never order again were the chicharron and the regular fish taco(the one with tilapia). I was also not a fan of either carne asada steak tacos and the rest were ok. The ambience of the space was cool and calm, the staff was very friendly. We took a flan to go and it was simply a stand out dessert! I had two bites and I'm not a sweets person. read more

This restaurant is a true hidden gem for foodies. In addition to fantastic service, (someone stopped by our table every 3-4 minutes to check on us when the bar was full and there were only two empty tables in the place) the staff was friendly and very accommodating. Nice honest people turning out fantastic food in a casual atmosphere. As for the food, I have been blessed with being able to dine in some of the best Mexican restaurants across the USA and Mexico. The simple subtleties used in their preparation of every dish I've had are outstanding. All of the street tacos are commendable and flavor profiles and freshness are second to none. The pork belly simply melts in your mouth and the perfect caramelization of the sweet plantains was superb. Their mole sauce, made from scratch at my request, was an incredible balance of sweetness and heat and was a great option for dipping chips into since I'm allergic to tomatoes. Being able to enjoy this quality of food in such a friendly laid-back atmosphere is a special treat. Oh, and the Margaritas are pretty good too! read more

Food was good, but the margarita was the star. Delicious. I ordered a casamigos reposado Cadillac Margarita "skinny"... they understood the assignment. Perfect. Chips and salsa were great as well. Coming from Southern California, and traveling to Mexico a lot, I'm used to burritos, tacos, and enchiladas being a certain way, so maybe I'm a little harder to please on that than others. It was definitely good but not great. (I'm a vegetarian though so I didn't try anything with meat on the menu) Different than I'm used to. Great food, salsa is as good as ponchos and gringos (if you live in Brookfield you know what I mean) just make sure if you go for happy hour you ask for it otherwise they WILL try to charge you full price!
