This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Decent prices and big portions. If I want Mexican food this is the best place to go to.

We have been visiting them many times often every third week for very fresh and piping hot meals. On my B'day I visited this restaurant again, a favorite. I ordered the Birria tacos. So very disappointed. Had them at Los Tapatios and they were awesome. The beef was tough and stringy. There was nothing in the tacos of a birria sauce. They also removed the baskets of hot sauce from all of the tables. I asked three times for some hot sauce and finally got a shot sized stainless cup way later than I wanted it. I was charged an additional $1.50 for it. WTF, its a Mexican restaurant. Wow!!!! What a strikingly new and cheerful remodel!!! The food and house salsa are always worth a stop when any where near Bingo-town. Pretty good. Tasty chips and salsa that came out right away. I ordered the Baja fish tacos. Yummy with a flavorful Baja sauce. The side of rice was ok if a bit bland and not exactly piping hot. Honestly, the amount of times I've gotten food with hair in it is disturbing. The service went down hill. Aside from the remodel, that's about all they have going for them. The last time we went we had a large party and the service was the worst as well as messing up our orders. I can't get past the hair. I'm done coming here. Robbery! $22 for two minuscule shrimp chimichangas. I ordered for pick-up and I couldn't believe how tiny they were, but it gets worse. When I cut into them I found about four small shrimp in each one and the rest was just folded up tortilla. A tiny helping of runny beans on the side and that's it! Didn't even include any to-go utensils in the bag, and the girl at the front was not even trying. Is Binghamton really so limited in choices for Mexican food that this is acceptable? The service was slow at the door to be seated but once we got our table the waiter was very responsive and attentive to us which was nice. Service was great let's make that perfectly clear, the salsa and chips that we're brought to the table. The chips were very good. The salsa was very bland no texture. It was like chunky tomato soup. It had a more tomato flavor than anything. The overall meal I got the two burrito combos with rice and beans. The beans tasted like they had just come out of a can. Very tinny taste, no flavor whatsoever in the beef with the burrito. The green burrito which my wife had. She said it was very good. Very flavorful but was lukewarm. Overall, we probably will not go back there, but you can form your own opinion. I just didn't think it was that good compared to the other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

I've eaten here a few times now (takeout once, dined in once) and I like this place. It's similar to Tapatios in Vestal and Grandma's in Endicott. Colourful, festive interior and generally soft-spoken but nice staff. The food is a tie for me between these restaurants, but the atmosphere here might be my favourite. I had the Camarones al Chipotle the first time, and remembering how much I enjoyed it, had the similar Camarones Poblanos when I went back this time. Execution was consistent between the two visits. The shrimp were cooked well in a creamy and flavourful sauce. It's hard to say for sure because I enjoyed these dishes more than a year apart, but I think the Chipotle is the spicier and richer option, while the Poblano sauce has a more vegetal taste. Both are tasty! The rice and refried beans on the side were standard but also good. I'm not sure what it is but I do particularly like how they do their beans. I think it's cute that they put the guacamole salad in a little tortilla chip cup to keep it separate from the hot sides! I also had their horchata and it was very good! Smooth and just right on the sweetness. They have complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa is great, with a robust roasted flavour. Portions are very generous (I finished all of the shrimp, rice, and beans, but saved the tortillas it came with for later) and fairly priced. read more

Warm chips and tasty salsa; Plenty of Margarita choices and they were good, but probably could be a bit stronger. K ordered Camarones Poblanos and I ordered Camarones a La Diabla Plate; both were delicious, the Diabla was slightly spicy/ the Poblanos sauce was creamy and both were cooked to perfection. You also get warm 3 small flour totillas with each dinner along with rice/ beans and avocado/ picante bowl. Big menu with plenty of veggie options. Best Mexican in town! Service is absolutely amazing. Greeted by hostess, 30 seconds later you already get chips and the best salsa. Order your food it will never take more than 5-10 minutes. It comes out steaming hot and delicious every time. The one woman there is so great always makes great conversation- I apologize I never got her name. So happy to find this great Mexican place. We had a few vegetarian entrees, cheese dip and I had a strawberry margarita. The sopapillas weren't what I was accustomed to-the ones I've eaten in the south are like soft pastries, but these are basically fried tortillas with honey, chocolate and whipped cream. Our server must have been pretty new he didn't really understand anything we wanted to order and messed up multiple things throughout the night we were missing plenty of items. He also never came back after we finished our meal. We wanted dessert and more drinks and when we finally flagged him down he just presented us with the check, not a great sales strategy.
