We have been to Grandmas many times pre covid and during covid for take out. We decided to go this past week and see if it was what we remembered. They did not disappoint! We were greeted upon walking in the door . The family ran restaurant offered quick service and food was prepared and delivered to our table rather quickly. Excellent, authentic food! Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this place has some excellent food! Large portions at really good prices & excellent service. The owner is always making his way around the dining room, and is genuinely interested in making sure everyone is enjoying their food. The margaritas are to die for! They're not the pre-mixed crap with cheap well tequila. The owner explained how they actually mix three different brands of premium tequila with their own margarita citrus recipe to create these. Food is usually good here, but I think I caught an off night, and an off menu item. I ordered chicken tacos, that come with rice and beans, and pico de Gallo. First off, the refried beans were thin, watery, cold, AND I ended up sending them back to the kitchen because they had an off, sour taste, (like a spoiled food taste) The pico de Gallo also looked like it had gone past it's "expiration date" And lastly, the tacos contained only the chicken, (no other fillings) I've had tacos in many different places, and at the very least, in addition to the meat, there's always shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, maybe some guacamole and sauce. But just the meat alone? Never seen that before. read more

Went out for date night last time which dosent happen often for us. I've had my eye on Grandmas skeptically for the last few weeks, but let me tell you this was the BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN I have experienced. Service was perfect and on point. The food was beyond amazing and the portions were SUPER generous. Do not shy away from the fajitas. I swear he must have gotten 5 pounds meat and for the first time ever in our relationship could not clean his plate. The nachos were piled high and the fish tacos were amazing! Unfortunately, not enough people in our area know enough about authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food to recognize that this restaurant is yet another sub-par enterprise that has flavorless offerings featuring canned beans, readymade sauces and cheap ingredients. The equivalent of the cheap Chinese take out kitchens you see in every upstate town. It is insulting to blame this cooking on someone's grandma. For those that have called this 4 or 5 star cuisine all I can say is that you really need to go take a trip. Please don't use your stars to promote mediocre dining in our area. read more
