When looking on the Internet you see that it's not a high-quality place but it looks clean. Upon arriving and looking at the interior it look okay. Okay to the eyes. It was not updated. Electric was unstable. Internet was unstable. It was infested with ants the entire time. Staff did come to spray and we bought spray and it was still lots. We had bugs the entire time. Also, they do not provide wash clothes. They only provide towels. We went across the street to buy those. The beds were extremely hard. I felt like I was in college all over again. We had to go across town to buy cushion bedding for that. Something else hat they have no control o we is the beach but I think you should know that the seaweed is so bad there really wasn't any beach time. The restaurant was ver expensive but the quality of food was not. They would take over an hour to prepare it but it would not be hot. I think I would have enjoyed my trip if I could have gotten a good quality sleep. Also, they were not honest about prices at doctors office that was across the street from there hotel. They would write you out a coupon to get a discount for a COVID test but the prices were already cheap than the card.

Hi we stayed here from October 12-17. It was great! It's not a 5 star. So if you are looking for that, then this place is not for you. The staff really goes out of your way, to make a great experience for you! Omgee!!! The views from the right rooms are breathe taking! The price makes every little wrong worth it. Karen who was the receptionist was amazing! Her and my husband coordinate a cake for my birthday and had the band sing to me! All the staff is really nice. The beach was beautiful. We had beach almost to ourselves first couple of days. It's seem more like a swimming pool. Hardly any waves. Water was calm. Which I love!! Will definitely be coming back!

A quaint little gem! Needed a hotel for 1 night before we checked into our resort. This economical spot worked well. Friendly check in, restaurant/bar on premises, small pool, many rooms had balconies. For around $100, we had a Oceanview room and free full breakfast. The room was clean and minimal with a coffeepot, complimentary coffee, water and toiletries. Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff throughout. Recommend if you are looking for economy and small, off the beaten path hotel.

My husband and I visited ERC for his 30th birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. My husband didnt get bit at all, and i got bitten over 40 times. We cant wait to come back!

The taco truck is great but doesn't open until 4pm.. a little late for lunch. I don't want fries/hotdog/burger/nachos for lunch. The Linux buffet was great, but it would've been nice to have a salad or tacos by the pool. Loved the shows and trivia every night! Can't wait to go back.

I've stayed in more luxurious places, including Danielles in Venice. I think I know the CDM secret. It was the lack of people that you see. Nothing and no-one annoyed me here. Even in luxurious places, there is likely someone who will be annoying, or rude or abrupt or loud, or arrogant or whatever. In fact, some of the "exclusive" places have some very arrogant and superior people, and that detracts from the experience. But I don't need to tell you how annoying people can be, do I? Not that people can't be very nice also, but the more people around, the more chance someone will detract from your experience. But when you don't even come across other people (except the ones you bring with), there's no-one to possibly bother you. You go to the beautiful pool, and there's no-one there. Not even anyone doing the "reserve our lounge chairs with towels at the crack of dawn game", when they don't use them till noon. None of that stupid stuff, and no screaming kids doing cannonballs in the pool (not that I don't like kids). The beautiful pool might as well be in your own back yard. You don't hear the adjacent room through the thick walls, and you don't even see other room balconies. The grounds are designed so every balcony is private. No-ones front door is next to yours, or even nearby. You look out over the grounds and virtually no-one is walking around. You go to the pier and it's empty of people. You go to the beach and no-one is there also. You pick your favorite lounge chair location and it's open just waiting for you. The staff here were all nice and subdued and not intrusive, but were friendly if you chatted a bit to them. When they bring your breakfast trays in the morning to your room, they place it in a hutch by the front door and you don't even see them! Look at the pictures I posted. The professional ones are from the CDM website and mine are the others. You'll notice there's no-one in the pictures. Other resorts have to rope off the area to get deserted pictures like those, and when you get there it is overrun by strangers. Not at CDM. When you think of that, you should try to stay here if you ever can, even for a few days. It's actually great value for the money. What an awesome experience. They do destination weddings here, and that probably feels like you rented the whole resort, cause I'm sure the other guests would stay out of your way. I can't think of another place like CDM.

If you're going to stay here, make sure you let them know when you're going to arrive as there doesn't seem to be a front desk. I called when we got there and we waited for about 10 minutes until Genevieve got there. Not a problem though because I do understand it's not really a traditional hotel. The grounds themselves are beautiful. There's lots of green space, and there's also a little pond with two turtles in it. Hopefully someone is feeding the turtles because when we were there we gave them like 2 whole avocados over the span of 3 or 4 days - them seemed famished. The pool is OUTSTANDING. It's not a traditional pool, there's not really much space to sunbathe, but it felt SO good after a long, hot day at the beach or walking around town. Plus it overlooks the ocean. Our favorite part of the place was the rooftop. Stunning views. Unfortunately the room we stayed in had window that overlooked a tree and a wall. There was a little window at the top of that wall, and no curtains on it, which made for a daily wake up time of whenever the sun came up. BUT, their neighbors started building a wall right outside that window. The stairs they were using to get to their roof were right outside that window, and any of the workers could've looked in our room, and directly down into the bathroom/toilet. I let management know and they came not more than two hours later to measure the window and make a mesh curtain for it. I was VERY pleased with how quickly they reacted to my email. It's unfortunate (and not Layla's fault) that there was a wall built, but I suppose that solved the sunrise wake up every morning. Other than that the room (selva) was nice. It had a little cooktop, sink, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The refrigerator froze almost everything we put in there, and we were unable to mess with the temperature. They had dish soap, hand soap, and I think body wash as well. Beach towels were provided though they're old and stained. The pillows were mish mash as were the pillow cases. I thought they had a restaurant and yoga classes and a salon, but everything was closed. Overall I'd recommend this place. It's a wonderfully affordable option and the entire staff is nice (I think we interacted with 5 of them; they'd come during the daytime). The views can't be beat, and the quietness of the location really amplified the charm that is Puerto Morelos!!!!

I'm really glad we did because the airport can feel overwhelming with so many taxi and shuttle options. When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted right away by the bellhop and a UVC team member, which was a great first impression. Since we got there early, our room wasn't ready yet, so we left our bags and changed into our swimsuits to enjoy the pool. It was nice being able to explore the property and relax while we waited. Once our room was ready, we got a call and headed back to the front desk to complete check in. Before long, we were on our way to the room with our luggage. We were really happy with the room itself and the location. After spending a few hours at the pool, I showered and took a much needed nap while my husband checked out the gym and walked around the resort. Once I woke up, I unpacked and got everything organized. I appreciated the amount of storage, especially in the bathroom since I had brought quite a few things. That first evening, we were both ready for dinner. Since it was Saturday, they had a seafood night by the pool along with a fire show. The food selection was just right for us, with paella and a few other seafood dishes, plus sides and salads. We grabbed a seat afterward and enjoyed watching the show. The overall atmosphere of the resort felt very tropical and relaxing. We loved seeing the wildlife, including iguanas and even a coati running around. There were also a few resident cats, and as a cat lover, I was so happy they were friendly enough to pet. I kept spotting them throughout our stay. We spent a lot of time at both the pool and the beach. We didn't go into the ocean because of the sargassum, but the beach itself was kept as clean as possible, and we still enjoyed walking along the shore. We frequented the Barracuda Bar and really liked Jose. He was friendly, energetic, and quickly learned our names and drink preferences. He even surprised me with a few drinks when I wasn't sure what to order. He stayed busy but handled everything so well, and I loved sitting on the bar swings and soaking in the atmosphere. While not all of the food stood out, there were definitely some highlights. The shrimp tacos at Seaside Grill were amazing. I'm not even sure what made them so good, but they were delicious. I also loved the pad thai at Himitsu. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the dish was full of flavor. I honestly would have ordered it again if we had more time. The desserts there were also incredible, especially the cloud cake and the matcha cake. Those ended up being some of my favorite treats of the whole trip. At El Patio, I tried a vegetarian taco that was the chef's special, and I'm so glad our server Eddie recommended it. Speaking of Eddie, he and Carlos really made a big impression on us. We saw them multiple times at different restaurants throughout our stay. Carlos was always welcoming and cheerful, and Eddie gave us some of the best service we experienced. On our final night at Bordeaux, they went above and beyond. Eddie had the chef create special dishes just for us, and they both came out to explain everything. As someone who loves food, that was such a memorable experience. They also surprised us with a plated dessert that said "have a nice trip," which was such a thoughtful touch. Of course, I had to take photos with them to remember it. Overall, we had a good trip and enjoyed our time at the resort. Since we used our UVC membership, our options were a bit limited, but this property worked out well. That said, I personally prefer adults only resorts, so I likely wouldn't return for that reason. I did appreciate that there was an adults only pool, though. We also had the opportunity to visit Dreams Mujeres for breakfast and a tour during our stay, which was a nice perk and something we really enjoyed.
